/+ Pros-e&t: 5or any countries security ,hether it is for its citi-en or other issues, police plays a vital role. It is the duty of police to protect the country and citi-ens. To protect a country from crimes there is a hu*e demand for +olice. )an*ladesh is a populated and poor country, for this reason crime is also here. To prevent crime and .eep peace Bangladesh Police is contri&utin* a lot. )an*ladeshi common people are livin* peacefully &ecause they depend on their *overnment ,hich assures them of their security, and one of the ma4or security systems is the Bangladesh Highway Police. “,o $a7e our road safer and to ensure s$ooth traffic $anage$ent s&ste$) Go.ern$ent reali*ed the necessit& of high#a& Police. 5nder sec31- of the Police act 1/'1 the go.t. of the peoples republic of Bangladesh $ade this high#a& Police rules in the &ear -118.+ 2Source: )an*ladesh +olice, !$!3 /ere are some positive impacts' ;dvanta*es of +olice Service in )an*ladesh: =eneral people are livin* their life ,ith minimum ris. &y havin* protection from police department. 5or the active security process of police, the rate of crime is rapidly *oin* do,n,ard. +eople are no, livin* a disciplined, secured and pro*ressive life.

'+ Re&o((en!ations: ;lthou*h there are several *ood thin*s &ut )an*ladesh +olice are &ounded &y corruption. It does not mean that all police officers are corrupted. There are still some of them ,ho are doin* their 4o& honestlyC for the corrupted officers the =overnment should ta.e some initial steps to stop corruption. Dy recommendation is, as the root of corruption is 7&ri&e1, first ,e have to stop this nasty ritual. 5or this =overnment can do some e<periments li.e E Investi*atin* the corrupted +olice ?fficers ,ho accept &ri&es and from their support ,e can find the main culprit ,ho is *ivin* those &ri&es. =overnment can declare to *ive re,ard to those police officers ,ho are not corrupted. Dotivatin* +olice ?fficers for havin* a supportive &ehavior ,ith *eneral people for achievin* their trust. Stron* media pu&licity of strict punishment for the police officers ,ho ,ill ta.e &ri&e &ecause 7)ri&e *ivin* and acceptin* is a &i* crime1. =overnment can open a ,e&site ,here *eneral people can complain a*ainst those officers ,ho are demandin* &ri&e. =ivin* proper trainin* and motivations to the ne, police force 4oiners.
6Assignment: Police Service in Bangladesh
=ivin* priority to more educated candidates and motivate them &y *ivin* respect &y this they ,ill sho, respect to our country. =overnment should provide more support financially to the police officers so that they donBt feel financial insecurity as it seems that financial insecurity is the main reason for their corruption. So increasin* their salary so that they can have a &etter life, provide accommodation for their family, provide incentives for the &etter education of their children and also financial security to their family if any police officer dies on duty can &e some options. If the *overnment can ta.e positive actions accordin* to the a&ove mentioned recommendations, then surely corruption can &e de*raded to a much lo,er level and intensity and our police officers ,ill &e less interested to ta.e &ri&es and ,ill support our *ood citi-ens rather than ,or.in* for the criminals.
0+ Con&lu!in Re(ar1s: Every country needs a professional police or*ani-ation ,hich is efficient, loyal and accounta&le. “,ransparenc& International Bangladesh has se.eral ti$es identified that police depart$ent is the $ost corrupted ser.ice of the Go.ern$ent of Bangladesh+. 2:ar-on, !!>, ?cto&er $@3.
