Critical #e$iew An P2thon we use the if statement to write a single alternati$e decision structure. /ere is the general format of the if statement if condition: statement statement etc. @or simplicit2; we will refer to the first line as the if clause. The if clause begins with the word if; followed b2 a condition; which is an e%pression that will be e$aluated as either true or false. " colon appears after the condition. :eginning at the ne%t line is a bloc1 of statements. Fhen the if statement e%ecutes; the condition is tested.
