Utah Valley GIS Day

Event Details: Date: Thursday, November 7, 2013 Time: 8:45 AM - 2:45 PM

Location: Utah Valley University - Science Building (SB) & Sorensen Student Center (SC)
Agenda: Participants will learn about Geography, GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing technologies from Utah Valley GIS professionals who use these tools in their daily work. The event will consist of three class presentations and one hands on computer lab exercise. Teachers should plan to spend approximately 2 hours at UVU for full participation. Act soon as spots will fill up quickly. Our program has been successfully presented to students from 4th grade to 12th grade for 6 years now. FOR PHOTOGRAPHY DEDICATED TO CELIBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY OF ONE OF THE GREATEST PHOTOGRAPHY BASED STUDIES OF THE WORLD FOR THE LAST 125 YEARS. PHOTOS WILL BE JUDGED BY SOME OF UTAHS MOST RENOWNED PHOTOGRAPHERS. PRIZES AWARDED IN EACH CATEGORY WITHIN EACH DIVISION. Free to Utah K-12 Students of All Skill Levels OCTOBER 1ST- November 23rd Divisions: K-4th Grade, 5th-8th Grade, 9th-12th Grade Categories: To help celebrate Utah: Utah Landscape, Utah Wildlife, and Black and White Easily Submit photos: Prizes include having photographs placed on a poster commemorating the celebrations of the year. Pictureline, Adobe, and other photography aides, a subscription to National Geographic, and other age based surprises listed on the website.
