Overview
This national occupational standard defines the competence involved in operating powered tools and equipment for non routine and complex applications. The standard identifies good practice that needs to be second nature to the work operator, whether dealing with powered static equipment, hand-operated powered tools or carrying out complex operations with powered tools and equipment and designated items of small mobile plant. This standard is for those responsible for managing field operations during gas network construction activities. These activities will usually include the leadership and direction of the members of a team and decision making regarding the approach to take when undertaking the work.
