The United States Peace Corps Cameroon Is recruiting an HIV/AIDS Coordinator to be based in Yaoundé Cameroon. This is a demanding, multi-function position that provides technical, programming, training, administration and Volunteer support to Peace Corps Volunteers across sectors and ensures communication and collaboration with the US Government team of PEPFAR partners as well as local HIV/AIDS partners. The incumbent will work in a fast-paced office and must have a demonstrated record as a self-starter able to complete numerous tasks simultaneously and with minimum supervision. Position requires a great degree of energy, flexibility and creativity and includes travel to remote locations within Cameroon up to 30% of the time. The position is a full-time Personal Services Contractor position with an initial six month probationary period beginning on/about January 15, 2014. Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and evaluating Peace Corps’ HIV/AIDS interventions across project sectors. Basic Functions of the position include: programming; Volunteer and counterpart training; monitoring, evaluation and reporting; Volunteer support; management/administration including management of small grants for Volunteer communities; networking and collaboration with local, national and international partners. Required Qualifications Applicant must be a Cameroonian citizen or have authorization to work in Cameroon, must not have been employed in intelligence-related activities, and must submit application that clearly documents how s/he meets each of the following qualifications: University degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or related field (or have equivalent, senior-level experience in the field of HIV/AIDS); Minimum five (5) years experience of program administration; Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting of project activities; Experience designing and implementing technical training for adults (Peace Corps and/or Peace Corps in-country training experience is a plus); Demonstrated technical knowledge in HIV/AIDS education and behavior change communication; Understanding of and experience in gender issues; Knowledge of HIV/AIDS programs and structures at the national, regional and community levels; Demonstrated ability to work/collaborate effectively with other international organizations as well as local partners including ministries and state institutions; Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English. Ability to understand, explain and communicate technical material in both languages; Demonstrated superior writing and reporting skills;

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple on-going tasks; Demonstrated cross cultural skills (preferably understanding of Americans); Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team; Willingness to travel extensively under difficult road/lodging conditions; Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications; A valid Cameroon driver's license. Desired Qualifications University degree in Public Health, Social Sciences or related field (or have equivalent, senior-level experience in the field of HIV/AIDS);

The incumbent will be hired at a competitive salary with an initial six month probationary basis with the possibility of being contracted full-time at the end of the probationary period.
