Southern Sky.Venus. . 30th November 2013. But it is still very bright at magnitude -4. .16:30 UT. Stays very low down in the south and south western sky after sunset. Sets very quickly after the Sun.

37 and is a small telescopic object. . 15th November 2013. Moves eastwards and is in Virgo by the end of the month.05:30 UT. Starts the month below the body of Leo. South Eastern Sky.Mars. At magnitude 1. .

South Eastern Sky. Is visible in the early morning sky and very high up in the sky before sunrise.44.00h UT . 15th November 2013.00.Jupiter Almost stationary in Gemini for the first half of the month big and bright at magnitude -2. .

but remains extremely low down in the brightening twilight at the end of the month.07:24 UT . Things will start to improve for the ringed planet next month. 30th November 2013.Saturn Just starting to appear in the pre-dawn eastern sky. UT South Eastern Sky. .

is visible in Pisces. 17th November 2013. . Southern Sky. .75.Uranus This (just) naked eye planet at magnitude 5.19:30 UT.

19:30 UT. 17th November 2013. . Southern Sky. .Neptune Located in southern Aquarius at magnitude 7.9.

Maximum Zenithal Hourly Rate given as 10 per hour. So low rates mean it won’t be a spectacular display.Meteor Showers in November. They are best viewed after midnight on the 18th. but the full Moon will badly interfere with any observations. The Taurids are at maximum on both the 5th and the 12th. It can produce some bright meteors. The Leonids are at maximum on the early 17th. . so it is still worth watching out for.

. Close to M44. Passes through Cancer. The Praesepe Star Cluster on the 9th and 10th. Position shown at 3 day intervals. Comet Lovejoy C/2013 R1. Leo Minor and Ursa Major this month. Predicted to be about 8th magnitude.Another Comet. Leo.

Position shown at 3 day intervals.Yet another Comet. . Moves from the Water Jar in Aquarius towards the Square of Pegasus. Comet Brewington 154P.

Starts the month south of Leo. rapidly moving south. Perihelion on the 28th. .Comet ISON C/2011 S1. Now things should start to sizzle. By the end of the month the comet is in Scorpius and will be very close to the Sun. reaching Spica in Virgo on the 18th.

Comet ISON 2012 S1 .Comet ISON C/2011 S1.17th October – Dave Eagle. Currently at 8th magnitude. I imaged it on the 17th of October. close to Mars and Regulus. .

Saturn and Mercury starting to appear in the dawn. .Comet ISON C/2011 S1. 27th November ISON doesn’t rise before dawn. but the tail may be visible rising long before the sly brightens. Comet Encke has gone.

The tail has whipped round about 270°. The other side will experience heating after perihelion. closest to the Sun. or survive and continue to give a great display? Some astronomers believe that only one side of the comet is being heated at the moment. 28th November The Day of Perihelion. 29th November 2013. This could result in a fantastic display in the morning sky. Will it break up. 06:15am .Comet ISON C/2011 S1.

17:30pm . 29th November 2013. The comet will be visible in the western sky after sunset for a few days after perihelion. It The head of the comet won’t be above the horizon. but if it displays well the tail could be a spectacular sight hanging above the western horizon after sunset.Comet ISON C/2011 S1.
