2nd India Petrochemical Focus

Invitation Letter
Dear colleagues

November 21-22 2013

Indias petrochemical industry is expected to register robust growth in the years ahead provided it continues with efforts towards enhancing its competitive advantage. Indias polymer demand growth is expected to grow at a faster pace of 8-12% in 2012-2013, after registering a subdued demand growth of 4.6% in 2011, while its propylene capacity grew 3.4% to 3.96m tonnes, with some 807,000 tonnes/year of capacity expected to be added by 2013 In addition, By 2013, demand for butadiene is expected to jump by 50% with the expected start-ups of new styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and butadiene rubber (BR) plants. However, The Indian petrochemical industry also faces a number of challenges for sustained growth: lack of low cost feedstock and dependence on western countries for technology. Insufficient basic infrastructure, prevalence and use of old technology and high feedstock cost in comparison to Middle East countries. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the output growth of almost $200 billion from the current $83 billion will be made within the coming decade. The future of the Indian petrochemicals industry is bright with domestic demand driving the market for products. With Government support slowly falling into place, the future could see more investments from multinationals as well as domestic companies. 2nd India Petrochemical Focus 2013 strives to provide an unparallel platform for over 220 senior executives and experts, discussing the pressing issues and hot topics affecting India petrochemical industry. Informative keynotes, candid case studies, facilitated Q&As, networking sessions, join us at the most rewarding and compelling industry event of the year! Best Regards, Organizing Committee of IPF2013
