Come to play, or just to listen! Once again Arlington honors old time music master Speedy Tolliver with his very own event, in this, his 91st year. The event has become a tradition in Arlington, a tribute to Speedy's lifelong achievements and dedication to traditional music. A respected presence at any American roots music gathering, Speedy Tolliver is known for his versatility, having mastered various fiddle and banjo styles including old time, bluegrass, Dixieland and swing. In Speedy's book, anyone who plays music - master or novice - is "all right"; so in the spirit of the man, the Fest isn't really a contest at all, but rather a noncompetition that invites fiddlers and banjo players to perform in celebration of their love of the music.

The annual Autumn Moon Children's Festival (Tê't Trung Thu) is an opportunity for everyone to learn about and celebrate the Vietnamese culture and heritage. The Festival is thousands of years old and is celebrated in many Far East Asian countries that once used the lunar calendar like Vietnam, China and Korea. The summer harvest was over by September (August in the lunar calendar) of each year. While harvesting, the adults were busy and left their children to play on their own. Once the harvest had been completed the adults celebrated by offering thanks to the gods for providing them a good harvest. The festival also made up for the lost time with their children, held under the full moon which falls on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar, and was first held during the Han Dynasty under the emperor Wu Di around 156-87 B.C.
