This essay is about the Marxism; which is about conflict theory which sees all society inventions, such

as education, the media and religion. Furthermore, there is Marxist views of the role of the family in society. Firstly, Marxism (the economic and political theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich ngels that hold that human actions and institutions are economically determined and also that capitalism will ultimately be superseded by communism! and " a social group characterised by the common residence, economic co#operation and reproduction$ Marxist expects families (father, mother and children! in society to have a role to obligate the capitalist society which expects the families segregated roles, within their family and their society; Fathers are the breadwinners and Mothers have the dependent role to loo% after the children. Marxism expects patriarchy (means that the male is the leader of the society! which would identify their roles within the family and the capitalist society plus males are the dominant of the whole family. The Marxist view of the family e.g conflict would suggest using powers within the social groups such as the wealthy and the poor, they would use power Marxists believe they should live in a capitalism society with &uclear families (upper#class! which each concept of their life would have an ob'ective (role! which are specific to each person within the family such as (usband)fathers are the breadwinners that provides the money and the *ife)Mother is the dependent one that would loo% after their children, would %eep the family surviving eg, ma%ing food and loo%ing after the family members. They, also, believe in the economical conflict which would produce class within the society (upper class, lower class! which prohibits conflict between them. For Marxists, therefore, the functions of the family are performed solely for the benefit of the capitalist system. This means that there were economic problems such as owning their private property, which would suggest that they would need a family to pass on the property if the owner had pass away which would cause problems, hence, having a family would enable them to pass their property down the family line. li +arets%y would believe that having a private family life wouldn$t be different than economical life because the society would create the illusion that private family life would be different than economy. Furthermore, +arets%y would believe that having a family life would serve the interest of capitalism in various ways such as women being dependent and would have to bring their children. This means that li +arets%y doesn$t believe in the fact that having a private family life would affect capitalism in anyway however, he thin%s that having a family life would help capitalism in various ways which would benefit the society itself. +arets%y, also, believes that families serves capitalism in an "emotional way$ which in reality, it would only prove emotional moment to live under their roof and carry on under the realities of capitalism. Marxism view in the family role would suggest that, although owning a private family life wouldn$t separate from the economy because they will have to wor% under capitalism even though if they don$t want to, otherwise, they would suffer so the emotional security would provide them to carry on wor%ing under the realities of ,apitalism and benefit the economy and would give each member of the family a segregated role to follow and ensure. Marxism puts forward narrow (or prescriptive! views about what families are and how they should be which some parts of society would deny the Marxism views and would disagree and -econdly, they would disagree with the idea of society tal%ing about family because a family is

whatever people want it to be, even if they want the same sex, adopted children or their own children. They re'ect the idea of social structures; .pper#class, /ower#,lass and *or%ing#,lass. Marxism against feminists are bad; meaning that they aren$t treated as right as men because Marxists expect patriarchy which women would strongly disagree. *omen would strongly disagree because they would want e0ual rights li%e men which is opposite patriarchy as both women and men should run the society. Feminists wouldn$t want Marxism because they would want a women to have segregated roles; women would have a dependent role within the homes and loo% after the children. Feminists would want to empower women to have 'obs outside the home and by donating to feminists organisations, they would give the money to women salaries. 1nsley, Feminist, would describe women as being useless and basic machines that tries to ma%e their husband happy after a long day at wor% and they are li%e a sponge to soak up the negativities of a capitalist system for the male worker. *hen wives play their traditional role as ta%ers of shit, they often absorb their husbands$ legitimate anger and frustration at their own powerlessness . This would be opposite to Marxism$s view in women in -ociety as feminists wouldn$t want to stay indoors and do their "roles$ that Marxism would expect women to do. *omen would want to be able to wor% apart from their homes. -he says that these roles are "learnt through socialisation during childhood and this shapes the behaviour of adults$ For example males are given boys toys and girls are given girls toys. The 2arents are largely responsible for this gender role socialising as they teach the younger generations how to act under the capitalist society.
