Hymn of Praise
BLESS THE LORD
Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, Bless His holy name!

Unison Scriptures
LUKE 2:4-7 (NIV)
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
4

Refrain

He has brought me out, He has brought me out, He has brought me out, Bless His holy name!

Verse 2

MATTHEW 1:24-25 (NIV)

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
24

He has set me free, He has set me free, He has set me free, Bless His holy name!

May all the people praise Your Holy Name. MINISTER: You seek, in holy love, to save all people from aimlessness and sin. PEOPLE: God has blessed us. May all Christians everywhere know You, O God. MINISTER: You seek, in holy love, to save all people from aimlessness and sin. PEOPLE: Almighty God, how are those who live in Your temple, always singing praise to You? MINISTER: You judge us by Your righteous will, declared through prophets and apostles. PEOPLE: One day in Your Temple is better than a thousand anywhere else. MINISTER: Through Jesus Christ You have come to us, shared our common lot reconciling the world to Yourself. PEOPLE: You are our Protector, Redeemer, Defender, and Friend. MINISTER: You bestow upon us Your Holy Spirit, creating and renewing Your Church, binding in covenant faithful people the world over. PEOPLE: You judge the people with justice and guide all the nations. MINISTER: You call us into Your Church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, serve others, proclaim the Gospel in every place, resist the powers of evil, break bread together, and sit at the Welcome Table. PEOPLE: Help us to speak for You, to strengthen our hearts, and to always lift up Your Holy Name. MINISTER: You have promised us forgiveness of sins, courage in the struggle for justice, peace, and Your eternal presence in trials and rejoicing. UNISON: Blessing and honor, glory and power, love and unity be with us all. Amen.

RAISING LEADERS and DEVELOPING DISCIPLES

January Matthew 16:24 (NLT) Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me." February Luke 4:18-19 (NIV) The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor. March Luke 10:19 (NIV) I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. April Romans 10:1-2 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. May 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NIV) Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. June Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. July Philippians 4:13 (NLT) For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. August Jeremiah 1-7 (NLT) The Lord replied, Dont say, Im too young, for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you." September Isaiah 1:3 (NLT) Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognizes its masters carebut Israel doesnt know its master. My people dont recognize my care for them. October Isaiah 40:29 (KJV) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. November John 17:21 (KJV) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. December Matthew 1:23 (KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
