Brief Summary of Work Born on the 5th December, 1953, she did her post graduation in physics in 1975 from the Rajasthan University, Jaipur. A doctorate in science from the Rajasthan University, Jaipur (1987), she has 33 years experience in R&D activities related to soils & cement concrete. Since her joining CRRI in September 1978, various projects undertaken by her relate to the study and measurements of swelling pressure of expansive soils, crystallography and electron micrographic study of the reaction mechanism of soil stabilisation, study on salt infested soils and development and evaluation of new and waste materials for roads. She has a major contribution on the project for demonstration of CRRI technology for stabilisation of desert sand in collaboration with Border Roads Organisation. She has also major contribution on several R&D studies sponsored by Government Departments and Private Industries viz. Department of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wolkem India Limited, Udaipur, Indo-Gulf Corporation Limited, Delhi etc. for development and design of methodologies for use of new and waste materials in roads. She has published/ presented 27 R&D papers in National and International Journals, Conferences and Seminars. A patent on Use of Magnesium Compounds for construction of roads in desert areas is in process. Areas of Expertise: Evaluation of new alternate Binders Evaluation of Waste materials Soil Stabilization Materials characterization Pavement Failure Investigation and Rehabilitation Design of Concrete Mixes Pavement Design
