the process
• Write a compelling fact-based pitch letter. EX: “91% of Rookie readers love
posting photos of themselves to social media sites. It’s true. But, sadly, not all
of them are posting their best photos. Photojojo wants to change that!”
• Give them an offer that’s hard to refuse. (Only after they’ve fell in love with the
pitch, of course) EX: “Photojojo has tons of tools and tricks that can help save
the selfie. Let’s show them how it’s done with a Rookie exclusive fashion
editorial! We’ve got the equipment, you’ve got the models. What do you say?
P.S. We’re offering an exclusive 25% discount to your readers. In exchange,
we’ll give Rookie a nod in our weekly newsletter (no pressure, we just have a
few hundred thousand subscribers).”
• Meet face-to-face (if possible). Show off the amazing Photojojo products.
Gauge their interest to see if there is truly a match made in heaven.
• Seal the deal. This is the part where lawyers, NDA’s, and concrete dates come
in.
• Celebrate the new partnership!
