NOTICE is herebygiven that on September8, 2009,the CommunityDevelopment


Commissionof the City of Chicago(the "City") will hold a public hearingat 1:00p.m. at City
CouncilChambers,City Hall, 121 North LaSalleStreet,SecondFloor, Chicago,Illinois, regarding
the approvalof a redevelopmentplan for the Wilson Yard RedevelopmentProjectArea
AmendmentNo. I more fully describedbelow (the "Area"), designationof the Area as a
redevelopmentproject areaas definedin the Illinois Tax lncrementAllocation Redevelopment
Act, as amended(65 ILCS 5lll-74.4-I et 5eg.)(the "Act"), and useof tax incrementallocation
financing pursuantto the Act to finance all or a portion of redevelopmentproject costsproposed
to be paid or incurredfor the Area pursuantto the Plan. A legal descriptionof the Area is
attachedheretoas Exhibit 1, a streetboundarydescriptionof the Area is attachedheretoas Exhibit
2 anda map showingsuch streetboundariesis attachedheretoas Exhibit 3.

The following documentsconcerningthe subjectmatterof the hearingare availablefor public


inspectionand review Monday through Friday betweenthe hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The City, in proposingthe actionsdescribedherein and in the Plan, aims to encourage


redevelopmentin the Area, enhancethe tax baseof the City and other affectedtaxing districtsby
encouragingprivate investmentin the Area and to preserveand enhancethe value of properties
therein. To accomplishthesegoals,the proposedPlan providesthat the City may carry out certain
public^improvements in the Area, enter into redevelopmentagreementsfor the constructionof
public and private improvements,finance a portion of the costsof such improvementsand other
eligible redevelopmentproject costsusing funds from the specialtax allocationfund describedin
the Act and issueone or more seriesof obligationssecuredby suchfunds. Pleaseseethe Plan for
a more completedescriptionof proposedactivities.

All interestedpersonswill be given an opportunityto be heardat the hearing,and are invited to


submit commentsconcemingthe subjectmatter of the hearingprior to the datethereofto the
