EXT. BOAT DECK - AFTERNOON SUPER: BLUE HILL, MAINE HELEN is standing in front of her son. She puts an orange life vest on him, then she fastens the clasps. She is listening to MARK speaking. The weather is balmy, and the two are standing on the deck of a boat. MARK We are headed about 5 miles out, shouldnt take long at all. He is staring blankly ahead as he speaks to the two guests. HELEN Good, Im so ready to get in the water. Cameron looks up at his mother. CAMERON Me too Mom. HELEN How long have you been a fisherman, Mark? MARK My dad used to take me out on the weekends when I was young. Then one day he just stopped taking me. (MORE)

2 MARK (CONT'D)

Ive been out here on my own ever since. Seems like the only thing I enjoy doing. Helen has a sad look on her face, one that shows empathy. HELEN Im so sorry about that. At least you are OK, you know? MARK Were here. He slows the boat down and brings the engine to a stop. CAMERON Yes, were here. Mark get up from his seat. He anchors the boat, then looks at Cam. MARK Whos up for a game of Marco Polo. Cameron smiles then looks as at his mother for confirmation. She smiles and shakes her head up and down symbolizing a yes. Cameron then directs his attention back to Mark. CAMERON I wanna play. MARK Get in! What are you waiting for? Cameron looks at his mother again. HELEN Lets go. Jump in!

Cameron gets on the edge of the boat then jumps in the water. Helen follows right after.

EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN - AFTERNOON HELEN A little chilly, but just what I needed. CAMERON It feels great. Lets play. Helen closes her eyes. HELEN Marco. Cameron swims away just enough for his mother to still hear his voice. CAMERON Polo! HELEN Marco. CUT TO:

EXT. BOAT DECK - AFTERNOON Mark is pacing around frantically. He stops, the looks down into the water to see the two guests playing Marco. He then turns on some MUSIC, just loud enough to drown out any loud sounds. He strips his clothing leaving on only some blue shorts. He turns the MUSIC up a little bit louder then he jumps in.

EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN - AFTERNOON Cameron has strayed away from his mother a little to far. CAMERON Polo! HELEN Marco! She listens for her sons voice. Then she yells louder. HELEN (CONTD) Marco! She opens her eyes and Mark is swimming towards her. He gets closer and does not stop. Helen gets a frantic look on her face and begins to SCREAM. HELEN (CONTD) CAMERONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! HMark grabs her. Helen is kicking and punching and her son is nowhere in sight. They are both struggling to stay afloat, then Mark finally gets his hands around Helens neck. As he chokes her he looks deep into her eyes with an evil grin. Helen is panicking and trying to grab his hands and move them from around her neck. Water is splashing everywhere, and her hands are to slippery to grip anything. She looses strength then goes under the water. FADE OUT.

ACT ONE

INT. BEDROOM - MORNING DEREK wakes up. He showers, then puts on his clothes. He goes into the bathroom to look in the mirror and adjust his tie. He speaks to himself in the mirror. DEREK Looking pretty good today. He leaves the bathroom then walks into the living room.

INT. LIVING ROOM - MORNING He takes his phone out of his pocket. INSERT - TELEPHONE SCREEN Derek scrolls down the call log to the name LACEY. He sends her a text message that reads Good Morning Beautiful. She replies immediately with Good Morning Handsome. He smiles and gives a sigh of relief. He then leaves for work.

INT. BAU MEETING ROOM - MORNING Derek, EMILY, and SPENCER are all sitting around the glass table. They each have a folder and they are reviewing the information. DAVID is standing, along with PENELOPE beside the projector screen. INSERT - PROJECTOR SCREEN The mother and sons general identification information is on screen along with a headshot of each individual.

PENELOPE (enthusiastically) Morning everyone. She looks around the room. PENELOPE (CONTD) So I guess we will get right into it. A woman by the name of Helen Holmes, and her son Cameron Holmes went missing yesterday. Tina Cane called the police and told them she was looking for her daughter. I did a little research and Mrs. Cane happens to be the subjects grandmother. She said the last thing she could remember her daughter saying was that she wanted to do something special for her Cameron. She hasnt heard from her since. Its been about three days and that is unusual, she is worried. SPENCER There were no leads on where they went? PENELOPE No leads yet, but Mrs. Cane did say she had a conversation with her about fishing when she spoke with her weeks before. DAVID All we have so far is two missing individuals, a mother and son, and a possible fishing trip. (MORE)

7 DAVID (CONT'D)

Lets try and connect some dots...We have already passed the 72 hour mark which means we need to think smart and fast. We can wrap this up, I think we know everything we need to know so far. FADE OUT. FADE IN:

INT. PRIVATE JET - MORNING David, Derek, and Spencer are all seated next to each other. JJ and PRENTISS are also beside one another. DEREK So Spence, how are you feeling today, man? Spencer turns to Derek and has on a serious face. SPENCER I need a girlfriend. DEREK I understand. Its funny you mentioned that...Ive been talking to this woman and she is...uhh..pretty cool. SPENCER You know... a woman might be the answer to all your problems.

DEREK (chuckles in a low tone) You might be right Spence. David turns on the laptop screen. Everyone directs their attention to the screen. DAVID Penelope, what do you have for me?

INSERT - LAPTOP MONITOR Penelope is on screen from her office. PENELOPE The Holmes were found on shore in a secluded town called Blue, Hill. Its in Maine and they were spotted there early this morning. But check this, I did a little snooping on Helens computer, and I saw Divers Dream Fishing Experience in her browser. SPENCER Divers Dream? It sounds symbolic for something. Maybe the unsub has some experience with diving? The jet is preparing for landing. CUT TO:

EXT. ATLANTIC COAST - AFTERNOON Two bodies lay in the middle of the sand. They are soaking wet and their faces are stuck with an expression of distress.

On Helens neck there are bruises that resemble finger markings, and her skin is a bluish pale color. The child lay right beside his mother, his body is limp and cold. There appears to be something in his pocket. Spencer reaches into the pocket and finds a piece of bait. SPENCER The bruises on her neck indicate some asphyxiation. She definitely didnt drown on her own. The unsub has to be a male because you cant get bruises like these without applying intense pressure. DEREK What would he want with these two victims? We are definitely not dealing with a serial killer. Theres no correlation. SPENCER (beat) We have to figure out his motive...and how did the bodies even get here? It is possible that they washed up onto shore. JJ walks up beside Spencer. JJ, Spencer, and Derek are all in frame. JJ We didnt find much on the perimeter, its like they just washed up here.

SPENCER That is possible, but this was no accident...I remember Penelope saying something about Divers Dream, it probably has something to do with a boat. The only way they couldve drowned here is if they were out at sea. DEREK The murder may have happened first, then the unsub wanted to dumbthe body. David comes over. DAVID Lets go. (beat) Im sure you all could use a good nights rest. Lets head back to the jet, then we will regroup tomorrow morning. FADE OUT.

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT Derek is at home. He gets undressed, and takes a shower. Once he lays in his bed his phone VIBRATES. He answers the phone. PHONE CONVERSATION DEREK Just the person I wanted to hear from. How are you doing, sweetie?

LACEY (V.O.) Im fine. Kind of tired though. I took my third graders to the zoo today and they absolutely loved it. Those kids have endless amounts of energy, they just cant stop moving. I enjoyed myself though. DEREK I admire how passionate you are about what you do. Everyone doesnt have that luxury. You are blessed (beat) And beautiful. LACEY (V.O.) (LAUGHS) Thank you so much , you know just the right things to say. DEREK Let me take you out tomorrow night and you know... show you a good time. (beat) It wont do any harm, plus itll be fun I promise.

LACEY (V.O.) Tomorrow night sounds good, but thats only if you keep your word. I dont want to be disappointed. DEREK Trust me, you wont be. How does eight sound?

ACT TWO

INT. COASTAL BAR - DAY Mark appears clean cut and approachable. He is wearing some jeans and a plain shirt. waitress greets him. He walks into the bar and the

WAITRESS Hello sir, Welcome to coastal bar. You will be seated shortly. The waitress goes and wipes of the table designated for Mark. She comes back to him, and leads the way to the table. WAITRESS (CONTD) Right this way. When they both arrive at the table Mark sits down, then the waitress hands him a menu. He takes the menu. MARK Im ready to order. WAITRESS OK, what an I get for you today sir? MARK I would just like a Diet Coke, and a Wing Platter with fries please.

WAITRESS Is that all for you today? MARK For now. WAITRESS Perfect, your order will be out shortly. Once the waitress leaves to put the order in, Mark notices a a woman entering the bar. She is very attractive with beautiful features. Mark watches her as she gets seated at the table. Once she is seated, he waits until she puts her order in, then walks over to her. He sits across from her at her table. MARK I know this is kind of random, but I couldnt help but admire your beauty from my table over there. The girl looks at him and smiles. ROSE Thank you... Im Rose, whats your name? She puts her hand out for a handshake. MARK Im Mark. While the two are talking at the table, the waitress notices Mark at the other table so she politely brings them both their food.

WAITRESS Here is your Wing Platter and here is your Chopped Chicken Salad. MARK & ROSE Thank you! MARK Tell me a little bit about yourself. How does a beautiful girl like you just end up in Blue Hill. Im sure youre not from here. Ive never seen you before, plus you know this town is pretty small. ROSE Im just here visiting some family. Its pretty boring here though, not much to do. MARK Yeah, it takes some getting used to. (beat) Hey.. You know if youre interested I have a boat, and I could take you out and teach you a thing or two about fishing. ROSE I dont know Ive never really done that before. Im kind of scared actually, Im not to fond of fish. MARK Its not as bad as you think, its actually really fun... (MORE)

plus you did say how bored you have been since you been out here. ROSE Yeah, I guess youre right. Well Im not doing anything today, I mean I was just going to eat here then go back home. MARK How about we eat here, then you just come with me and Ill show you a good time. The tab is on me. ROSE That sounds like a plan. The waitress comes and puts the tab on the table while Mark and Rose finish up eating. DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. PARK - DAYTIME A body lays in the grass. Caution tape surrounds the perimeter of the park. The woman appears to be blue and pale. The womans stomach is protruding and her toes are curled. There are marks on her neck. Spencer, David, and Derek are on the crime scene examining the body. SPENCER This victim has also suffered from asphyxiation of some sort. The curled toes indicate struggle, and the victim is soaking wet. (MORE)

16 SPENCER (CONT'D)

This murder resembles the murder of the mother son, which means were dealing with serial killer. The unsub must be drowning them. DEREK Would that be before or after he strangles them to death? DAVID Maybe he does it all at the same time. He gets the victims in the water then strangles them, then they drown. SPENCER Thats logical, but what triggers this behavior? DEREK Possibly a bad childhood. DAVID ...Loss in the family SPENCER ...A Mental Disorder Spencer takes a deep breath then thinks for a second. SPENCER (CONTD) All three victims have been asphyxiated, then drowned to death. The location of the strangulation on all victims is the same, which indicates that the unsub suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. (MORE)

This disorder usually stems from a childhood experience, normally one that is undesirable. This means the unsubs problem may very well be something he is experiencing psychologically. DAVID Alright, well I think we can wrap this up. Weve figured out all we need to know. CUT TO:

INT. OFFICE - AFTERNOON The entire Behavioral Analysis Unit is in the meeting office. The topic of discussion is the criminal file. Everyone is seated around the glass table, with their folders open. PENELOPE I did a little research to find out who our unsub is. His name is Mark Phillips. Mr. Phillips was placed into a mental facility as a child, after being tortured in ritual baptisms by his parents. SPENCER That may explain his obsession with water... why he drowns the victims. PENELOPE After being released he became a lifeguard at a local recreation center.

18 PENELOPE (CONT'D)

He is the owner of Divers Dream (a private company that does fishing trips for individuals and couples). He lives in Blue Hill, Maine and he only has a P.O Box, no address. DEREK We know he doesnt live with his parents... SPENCER Maybe he lives on his boat. PRENTISS If he lives on his boat, that means he has to park it somewhere. We have to figure out where he parks it, then we can catch him there. PENELOPE I looked for docks in the area but there are none. He either travels to a dock in another location, or docks illegally. JJ We have to stop him before he kills another victim, but how is he choosing his victims? PENELOPE He isnt. The victims choose themselves. DAVID What do you mean?

PENELOPE In order to do a private fishing trip, you must sign up on the website online. Once the person books their trip and pays, he already knows who his victims are. JJ He lours them in from a web page... what is the world coming to? SPENCER Thats pretty clever actually. He made choosing his victims easy and effortless, which saves him the time and trouble of capturing his victims, and saves him the risk of being witnessed. DAVID So the question is who is the next victim? The answer to that question will lead us to finding this guy. (beat) He looks in Penelopes direction. DAVID (CONTD) Penelope keep watch on that website. The first person you see signing up for the trip, get their information and we will go from there. (beat) Everyone is dismissed. FADE OUT. ACT THREE

INT. DEREKS HOUSE - AFTERNOON Derek is getting ready for his date. He is casually dressed, wearing black slacks, a white button up, and black dress shoes. He sends Lacey a text that reads Im on my way. CUT TO:

SUPER: LA VIDA BELLA ITALIAN RESTAURANT

INT. LA VIDA BELLA ITALIAN RESTAURANT - NIGHT The camera pans and reveals a beautiful African American woman wearing a red dress and red lipstick. Then both Lacey and Derek are in view. They are sitting at a table made just for a couple. It is small, and fancy with white silk tablecloth. The server comes to the table. SERVER Hello, my name is John. I will be your server for today. Here are your menus. The server hands them the menus. He looks at Lacey. SERVER (CONTD) What can I get you to drink maam? LACEY Ill have some water please, with lemon. SERVER Water for you. He looks in Dereks direction.

SERVER (CONTD) And for you sir? DEREK Ill take a glass of red wine. He looks at Lacey. DEREK (CONTD) Actually, make that two glasses of red wine please. SERVER Two glasses of wine and a water, perfect. Ill have that back out to you shortly. The server walks away. DEREK How was your day? LACEY It was pretty good. I was actually off today so I took some time to relax.. catch up on a couple of things, and workout. What about yours? DEREK You know, the usual, work. I havent had time off in a while. LACEY I know how you feel. The holidays are coming up though, you should definitely take some time off.

DEREK I will when the time is right, I guess. (beat) I know I took it upon myself to order you some wine, but you know they say it goes great with italian. LACEY Ill give it a try. Im not much of drinker myself. (beat) So did you figure out what you want? DEREK Yeah, Veal Marsala. What about you? LACEY I want to try the Chicken Caprese. The server comes back to the table. SERVER Are you all ready to order ? DEREK Yes, Ill have the Veal Marsala. The lady would like the Chicken Caprese. SERVER One Veal Marsala and One Chicken Caprese. The server walks away.

DEREK So tell me a little bit more about you. I want to know what makes Ms. Lacey Baxter the beautiful woman she is today. LACEY Im a city girl with country dreams I guess. I was married. I have a daughter from my ex husband. Her name is Ally. I went to USC and got my bachelors in English. Ive been teaching the 3rd grade for about 7 years now. The food is delivered. DEREK Im from New York, born and raised. I have a masters and I work in psychology, specifically Behavioral Analysis... Havent had a chance to make any babies yet, but that will all happen in due time. When I have free time I just try to enjoy myself... Im kind of an adrenaline junky. Lacey is half way through her glass of wine. Her plate is also half eaten. She takes another sip of wine. LACEY Thats interesting. So what do you like to do exactly? Skydiving? Mountain Climbing? Bungee Jumping? Derek is looking at Lacey. His plate is near finished and he is done with his glass of wine.

DEREK I did go Sky Diving once with some of my friends. I have done some Hiking, but no Mountain Climbing yet. I dont know about Bungee Jumping though. LACEY Pretty cool... Red wine isnt bad at all you know.

Laceys phone VIBRATES. She looks down at her phone then at Derek. LACEY (CONTD) Im sorry I have to take this. DEREK Its fine. Lacey gets up from the table and walks to the bathroom. Derek wraps up the tab with the server while Lacey is in the bathroom. She arrives back at the table. LACEY I have to get back to the house. My daughter is not feeling well. DEREK I hope she feels better. Well I got your food to go. We can leave as soon as he brings back the change. Ill get you home right away. LACEY Thank You, I really do appreciate dinner. (MORE)

INT. BOAT - NOON A couple are on the boat. Mark is driving and he is staring blankly into the sea straight ahead. sitting on deck. Kyle and Ashley are

MARK I will be taking you guys about 5 miles out. We should find the perfect catch there. ASHLEY What kinds of fish do you normally catch out here anyway? MARK In some areas you can find lobster, but thats only during lobster season. I caught some Salmon, Cod, and trout since Ive been out here. The best thing Ive ever reeled in was a human. Kyle and Ashley look at each other. Their faces show that they are both shocked about what Mark said. CUT TO:

INT. BAU OFFICE - DAY Davids computer is ringing. It is a skype conference call from Penelope. He answers the call. INSERT: COMPUTER SCREEN PENELOPE A couple has booked the trip. Their names are Kyle and Ashley Harrison. The location they are supposed to go to is 2359 Coastal Dr. Blue Hill ME 04614 DAVID Thanks P. We are getting right on it. He gets up from his desk and goes into the area where the rest of the workstations are located. DAVID (CONTD) Spencer, JJ, Prentiss, Derek.. We have the address to where he will be picking up his next victims. Prepare to head to the scene. CUT TO:

INT. BOAT - NOON The boat pulls to a stop. They are in the middle of the ocean. Mark anchors the boat and starts getting out the fishing equipment. Kyle and Ashley are still scared but anxious to go fishing.

MARK Just give mea second while I go get this equipment. Dont get to excited while Im gone. ASHLEY Thanks so much baby for bringing me out here. The view is beautiful. She looks at her husband and smiles. KYLE You and I both needed this honey. Im glad you are enjoying it so far though... dont worry about this prick though, clearly he has some issues. Mark is standing behind the couple. They are looking out into the ocean. Mark is holding the equipment in his hand. MARK So you think I have issues? KYLE Yeah, thats what I said. If you werent acting so loony earlier maybe I wouldnt have to say that. MARK (STERN, LOUD, and AGGRESSIVELY) Dont you talk to me in that manner. You dont know shit. Ill show you loony. Mark drops the equipment. He rushes towards Kyle then pushes off the side of the boat into the ocean.

MARK (CONTD) Now let me tell you a little bit about me since you want to make assumptions. CUT TO:

EXT. HOUSE - AFTERNOON The BA Unit arrives to the disclosed address. The house appears to be vacant. SPENCER Are you sure this is the right address? DAVID Yes, Im sure. JJ He just uses different addresses and tells the victims to meet him at these locations... But where is the car? The victims had to get here somehow. SPENCER He must have taken them out to sea. Penelope said the unsub owned a company that allows couples to go on a private fishing trip. That means he is going to take them out there to drown them. DAVID Ill call headquarters and let them know the situation. (MORE)

29 DAVID (CONT'D)

We are going to need a speedboat, and some eyes in the sky. SPENCER We are not to far from the ocean. The breeze is pretty strong over here, so there must be a body of water around here somewhere. DEREK Get the GPS, and lets start moving. We are running out of time. FADE OUT. END OF ACT THREE

ACT FOUR

INT. BOAT DECK - AFTERNOON Mark is still standing on the boat with Ashley. He is furious, and he is on a rampage. Ashley is looking at him while crying as she hears her husband yelling from the water below. Kyle is trying to climb up the side of the boat but he is not successful. KYLE (YELLING) Honey, talk to me! Are you OK up there? Whats that son-of-a-bitch doing? I swear when I get back up there Im going to kill him.

ASHLEY (CRYING OUT) Somebody help us please! MARK Nobody can hear you out here sweetie. It just us now. Me and you are going to get to know each other a little better. Mark grabs Ashley by the neck. He has his hand around the back of her neck and he is holding with extreme force and pressure. Ashley is kicking and trying to get out of Marks grasp. Kyle is still in the water, once he sees his wife dangling over the side of the boat he is enraged and panicking. KYLE (YELLING) If you kill my wife, theres hell to pay. Im crazy to mother fucker just try me. MARK Your so called husband seems a little frightened. Lets get him rowled up some more. Mark pushes Ashley even more over the side of the boat. Her feet are no longer touching the deck and she is kicking and scratching to try to protect herself. ASHLEY Let me go you ass hole. What type of twisted lunatic are you? Mark is on the verge of pushing Ashley off the boat. He lets go and turns around when he hears a voice in a bullhorn.

EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN - AFTERNOON The BA Unit is on a large sized speed boat. It is pulled beside the Divers Dream boat, along with a life raft. The authorities get Kyle into the raft and onto the boat. Derek is speaking into the bullhorn. DEREK Mark. Let go of the girl now. You are under arrest. MARK Im not letting her go. She has to suffer. No one knows my pain... so I make them feel it. I sacrifice them in the presence of the lord. Authorities get onto the Dream Boat and grab Mark. Two men force him to the floor. Ashley is rescued and put onto the boat with the team. She is crying hysterically, and Kyle has a mad expression on his face. KYLE I cant believe this shit. This idiot tried to kill my wife man.. my wife! (KYLE BREAKS DOWN) JJ walks over to Kyle. She sits down next to him. JJ (REASSURINGLY) I know you are angry right now, I just want you to know that we are here to help you... Do you think you could just tell us what happened?

Derek, Spencer, and David are all sitting on the opposite side of the of the boat. They have Mark in custody. Ashley is sitting beside Prentiss, who is questioning her. PRENTISS I dont want yo to worry honey. This man will be going away for a long time. I just want you to tell me what happened as best you can. She looks at Ashley in her eyes to show that she cares. ASHLEY (SNIFFLING) Everything started out perfect... then the guy started acting kind of weird. We asked him about fish, and he told us he enjoyed reeling in humans... At that point my husband and I were uneasy but we didnt know what to do. We were already way out at sea.. PRENTISS What else happened? ASHLEY Then we stopped... He just got mad out of nowhere because my husband called him crazy or something. Then he just went on a rampage... next thing you know my husband is swimming around in the damn ocean.

The boat arrives back to shore. The team gets into a Black Suburban along with the victims. Mark is taken in handcuffs by the police. We see the vehicles drive away. FADE TO:

INT. DEREKS HOUSE - NIGHT Derek is wearing pajama pants with no shirt. He is sitting on his couch with a beer in front of him on the coffee table in the middle of his living room. He is watching television. His phone VIBRATES. He picks up his phone and looks at the screen. INSERT: PHONE SCREEN Derek reads the text from Lacey. LACEY Sorry about the other night. He replies. DEREK Dont worry about it. Im sure that happens all the time, it comes with the territory. He receives another text message. LACEY You are absolutely right about that.. But hey, I wanted to know if you were bust right now? He replies.

DEREK Im busy having a one on one with my best friend Mr. TV... Of course Im not busy honey. She replies. LACEY Well can I come over and we can have a one on one? He replies. DEREK I dont see why that would be a problem at all. She replies. LACEY OK. Well Im on my way. He replies. DEREK OK.

INT. DEREKS KITCHEN - NIGHT Derek looks at the time on the stove. It is 9:30. He goes into the fridge and gets out 2 steaks. He goes into his pantry and retrieves some potatoes. He goes back into his fridge for asparagus. He begins to prepare the meal for two. He seasons the steak, then puts it in the. He puts both the potatoes and asparagus into separate pots with water and brings them to a boil. The doorbell rings. Derek opens the door.

DEREK Hello. He looks her up and down. She does the same. LACEY Hey. DEREK Come in. Make yourself comfortable. He directs her into the house. FADE TO BLACK. END OF EPISODE
