(At the beginning of the thematic unit, throughout the unit during a small group lesson plan, circle time) The first week of class I will have these items placed on the tables that are in the classroom. I will introduced these activities when its time to do a large group activity with the children. The way I will introduce Thematic Unit Topic: dentist office Classroom Area: math and manipulative These items to the children. I will start of by telling them what each and every one of these items are used for. For example I will get a tooth brush and tooth paste and also the plastic teeth and I will demonstrate to them how to use those items. . I will ask the children use the tooth brush and tooth paste and brush the plastic teeth. I will ask the children open ended questions like, how many teeth do you think you have?

Are there any special rules that the children need to follow when using these items? Yes there are special rules that children need to follow when using these items. I will let the children know not to swallow the tooth paste. Do not bite any of the items. What do you hope the children to learn? I hope the children will learn how to count, how to add and subtract numbers and also how to brush their teeth. What are some ways that the children can reflect on what they have learned? I think some of the ways the children can reflect on what they have learned is by the teacher asking them questions like. What did you think about the activity that we just did and also asking open ended questions like I said before, how many teeth do you think you have?
