Position: Matrimonial Real Property (MRP) Executive Support

The National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA), is a federally registered not -for-profit organization that is Aboriginal-controlled, community-based, and membership-driven. NALMA was selected by the Government of Canada to maintain the Centre of Excellence for Matrimonial Real Property (COEMRP). This resource centre assists First Nations with the understanding and application of the new Family Homes on Reserve and Matrimonial Interests or Rights Act, by helping to guide First Nations who are opting to develop their own MRP laws. The Centre provides information on the protections and rights available to individuals and families living on reserves, research on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as the provisional federal rules. NALMA is accepting applications for the position of Matrimonial Real Property (MRP) Executive Support. Under the immediate supervision of the MRP Administration and Communications Coordinator and secondary supervision of the MRP Legislative Analysis Coordinator the position of MRP Executive Support will:  Provide executive support in the establishment and maintenance of the Centre of Excellence for Matrimonial Real Property. Perform a high level of administrative and executive duties for a variety of people, while organizing priorities and maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Co-ordinate administrative procedures, public relations activities, research, training, and analysis functions for the COEMRP. Curve Lake First Nation, Ontario Contract until March 31 , 2018 Start date is immediate. The successful candidate will be subject to a three (3) month probationary period. Completion of Post-Secondary certificate/diploma in business administration and/or equivalent combination of education and experience 4. Two to five years’ experience in the related field of business administration 5. Willingness to work weekends and evenings 6. Freedom to travel including Saturdays and Sundays 7.
