Course Descriptions
ELE5561 PLC FUNDAMENTALS – LEVEL I Obtain the fundamental skills needed for the operation of programmable controllers using SLC 500 systems w ith RSLogix 500 softw are and Modic on 984 system s. Participants are introduced to the internal operations, the fundamentals needed to com munic ate w ith the system s and how the systems are used to control industrial applic ations. Know ledge in relay logic is recommended. ELE5562 PLC PROGRAMMING AND DIANOSTICS – LEVEL II Develop beyond the fundamental skills of programming and learn the skills needed to plan, organize, w rite, enter, test and document programs using RSLogix 500 softw are. Learn to edit, upload, download, save and restore program instructions. This course also deals extensively in the use of bit level timers, counters, conversion, math, comparison, data manipulation and diagnostic instructions. Prerequis ite(s):?ELE5561 ELE5563 PLC ADVANCED PROGRAMMING – LEVEL III Move into advanced programming using the SLC 500 Systems and learn selectable timed interrupt routines, fault routines, I/O interrupts, jump commands along w ith applications using these instructions. Learn how to set up DH_485 or Data Highw ay Plus communications in a SLC system using RSLogix 500 softw are. Prerequisite(s):?ELE5562 ELE5604 PLC DESIGNING AND CONFIGURING A DEVICENET NETWORK – LEVEL IV This course provides the skills necessary to design and configure a Devic eNet network. The course begins w ith an introduction to specifications for node quantities, device and network m edia selection, cable length calculation and pow er requir ements and placem ent. The configuring section of the course covers the data exchange flow in a network using RSNetw ork softw are to configure, monitor and validate a DeviceNet netw ork. Prerequisite(s):?ELE5563 ELE5605 PLC MAINTAINING AND TROUBLESHOOTING A DEVICENET NETWORK – LEVEL V This course provides the skills necessary to maintain and troubleshoot a complex DeviceNet netw ork using different hardware and softw are configurations.
