It also aims to collect ;ualitative data on customer perceptions of the podcasts and possible future uses for this technology. The significance of this proposal is to provide relevant data to library administrators about the current and future use of podcasts$ as &ell as podcasts( possible use for communication during a major renovation period of five to si0 years that the library has just entered. <. Fe are attempting to determine &hether podcasts are a useful enough strategy to be used for communication &ith customers during our renovation. Fhile &e ,no& podcasts are an effective &ay to archive and offer our public programs online$ &e are not sure of the overall usefulness as an instructional tool for our customers. Aour role in this project &ill consist of listening to our si0 sample podcasts and completing a ten9item survey. 7ventually this data &ill be used to improve podcast use at the 3aryland /tate 4ibrary Resource 5enter. 1uring your podcast listening$ you &ill receive instructions on ho& to listen to the podcasts by a staff member &ho is e0perienced in this. The podcasts consist of si0 different topics and &e as, that you listen to all si0. Please pay attention &hen the podcast starts to play.
