Hibernian manager Jamie Macnab won the Clydesdale
Bank Premier League Manager of the Month for the
second month running.
The award panel made their decision after the Hibs boss
guided his team to victory in all three of their league
games this month.

Hibernians unbeaten run came crashing to an end when
they were easily defeated by a rampant St. Johnstone.
Striker Lewis Young gave the Saints the lead after
fourteen minutes and they never looked back. Defender
Gary Irvine rounded off the victory with well placed shot
from close range.

Brave Hibernian finally lost today. The Hibees had got
eleven games without defeat which included a six game
unbeaten streak.
Even though Hibs lost they are still in an excellent
position for European football next season.

Hibernian held out for a draw against Falkirk as their
slump continued. Falkirk were in front after twenty five
minutes thanks to a goal from Mark Stewart. Hibs were
level just before half time when Benni McCarthy scored a
header from a Riordan corner. Hibernian defender Rob
Jones headed Hibs ahead in the fifty ninth minute but
Falkirk were back level on five minutes later thanks too
Jamie Adams.

Dundee Utd and Hibernian fought out a hard earned draw.
Utd were awarded a penalty after only 17 minutes which
was put away by Michael Butler. Hibernian midfielder
Zemmama equalized in the 55th minute but soon found
themselves a goal down again when Dundee Utd were
awarded another penalty which was again converted by
Butler. Benni McCarthy earned his side a replay when a he
scored a great strike from outside the box

Hibernian advanced to the semi final of the Scottish Cup
following a dramatic penalty shoot-out win.
Hibernian scored in injury time in the first half thanks to
Rob Jones but Lee Wilkie equalized to send the game into
extra time. After an uneventful extra time the match went
into penalties. Daly and Morris missed for Utd as
Hibernian scored all of theirs. It was Morris’s miss that
sent the Easter Road crowd into raptures. Hibernian will
now meet Celtic in the semi final.

Rangers were convincing winners at Ibrox today. Rangers
left back Lucas Neill opened the scoring with a cracking
shot from 30 yards out which sailed into the top right
corner of the goal in the 51st minute. Hibernian rarely
threatened and were punished in the 85th minute when
Rangers broke on the counter attack and winger DaMarcus
Beasley went one on one with the Hibs goalkeeper and
slotted home for Rangers second.

Celtic yesterday listed the first trophy of the season when
the defeated Hearts 4-1 in the final of the League cup.

Hibs slump continued at the weekend as they were beaten
by Rangers.
Hibs down turn in fortunes couldn’t have come at a worse
time as the club fights for a European spot and looks to
hold on to 3rd place.

Hibernian ended there winless streak by beating St.
Mirren at Easter Road. Hibs took the lead through Riordan
in the 19th minute. Riordan came close to his second when
he hit the post 5 minutes later but the Hibs fans didn’t
have long to wait until they got the second when
Zemmama coolly slotted home from inside the box.
Hibernian then made it 3 nil when Riordan scored from the
penalty spot. Hibs were made to sweat for the victory
when Murray pulled 1 back for the visitors in the 86th
minute before Mehmet added a second deep into injury
time.

Hibernian and Hearts shared the spoils in an exciting
derby match. Both teams had their chances in the first
half but it was Hearts striker Gary Glen who opened the
scoring on 2 minutes after the start of the second half.
Hearts came close when they had a shot turned onto the
post by the Hibs goalkeeper but Hibs then started to put
pressure on the Tynecastle side as they went searching for
the equalizer. That pressure paid off in the 83rd minute
when Marco Materazzi rose to meet a Riordan free-kick to
head the ball into the net.
