This year, on 16th June at midnight, Uttarakhand state faced one of the most drastic floods in history. There were more than ten thousand causalities and many others are still missing. In that crucial time, our Indian army greatly responded and they saved more than two lakh tourists by airlifting them by helicopters. The people of Uttarakhand state are very friendly and helping, by nature. They stand like the great Himalayas in many challenges of their lives. Today, after almost 5 months, the weather is fairly cold and the rain has also stopped. The life of Uttarakhand states citizens is slowly and steadily recovering from that massive flood. Now, the schools, colleges, markets and transportation have reopened. All of the village farmers are now in the field for cultivating their grain. Still around 85% of the population of the state has its main source of income in tourism from the last many decades, so the state is facing great challenges, Manav Sadhnas core values remain the same from its beginning, focusing on valuebased education, health and hygiene, sanitation, awareness and livelihood projects. Manav Sadhna also works for the upliftment of the underprivileged people of society, mainly children and women. In Uttarakhand, we work on a S3 formula of Siksha (education), Shwasthya(health)andSafai(hygiene)byutilizingourH3formulaofHead,HeartandHands.
