Journalistic Work: The Nabe: Fort Greene, NY Reporter (May-August 2013) Pitched and reported stories in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill sections of Brooklyn, NY; wrote stories that involved face to face interviews and reporting from a local standpoint. Developed first online-only section for school newspaper and wrote the first article ever posted on newly created website albanystudentpress.net about the new website. Section Editor: Sports (Fall 2011) Coordinated all live coverage and interviews through the schools athletic department; copyedited all sports articles; laid out anywhere from 3-5 sports pages weekly using InDesign. Assistant Section Editor: Arts (August 2010-May 2011) Scheduled live concerts and arranged press passes by working with talent agents. Pitched weekly story ideas by keeping abreast on local arts stories. Staff Writer (Fall 2010): First became involved in school newspaper through reporting and writing for the sports and arts sections. covered live events such as local concerts and school sporting events and set up and conducted interviews with various people including Reel Big Fish, J. Cole, Henrik Lundqvist and Russell Simmons. News 12 Interactive: Woodbury, NY Summer Intern (May-August 2012) Published articles online and on the News 12 app that originated in the hourly broadcasts. Took scripts for news stories and repurposed them for online publication.
