English Students will acquire and begin to use sources of information, processes and strategies to identify, form and express ideas. Students will recognise that texts
are shaped for different purposes and audiences. Students will recognise and identify ideas within and across texts, recognise and begin to understand how
Listening, Reading, language features are used for effect within and across texts and recognise and begin to understand text structures. Continue to reinforce expectations.
Viewing Phonics will be a part of the reading/writing programme. How we express ourselves - focus speaking, writing and presenting - inquiry unit, we can identify &
express our ideas & opinions in many different ways. (second half of term).

are shaped for different purposes and audiences. Form and express ideas on a range of topics, use language features, showing some recognition of their effects
Speaking, Writing, Presenting
and organise texts using simple structures. Recounts - draw on personal background, knowledge - trips, visits etc. Develop and convey personal voice and support
ideas with some detail. Model - plan - draft - read - edit - conference - publish. Spelling - essential lists 1 and 2. Handwriting - Magic Caterpillar handwriting
process to be followed. Letters practised are chosen from phonics programme/ on a formation or a needs basis. Introduce/develop transactional writing skills -
simple instructions in sequence.

Measurement - length, weight & capacity - 2 weeks. 8 weeks - number/algebra (includes problem solving,) mult/div from Stage 3 and fractions.

Inquiry topic - first half of term. Where we are in time and Place - Rights for Everyone. Curriculum focus - healthy communities and environments.
Health Relationships with other people - Social Skills - school wide progamme. Skills taught are chosen by
Christine (DP) on a needs basis.
Personal Health & Physical Development, Movement concepts and motor skills folk dancing and skipping.
Phys Ed.
PK & UC. Singing, listening, moving and playing. Musical elements - rhythmn, beat & tone colour.
Music
PK and C & I. 3 D construction and mask making. Continue to explore a variety of materials & tools & discover selected elements and principles. Share ideas,
Visual Arts feelings, and stories communicated by their own and others' objects and images.

PK and DI. Explore movement with a developing awareness of the dance elements of body, space, time, energy, and relationships. Improvise & explore movement
Dance ideas in response to a variety of stimuli.

Colours - respond to questions to identify the colours of objects. Classroom objects - identify common classroom objects and respond to questions. Location -
Te Reo respond to questions to identify the location of objects at school. Integrate across curriculum.
