And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; It shall rejoice in His salvation. - Psalm 35:9

And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; it shall rejoice in His salvation. Psalms 35:9 When David penned this Psalm he was in a lot of trouble. He was being persecuted and pursued by his enemies. He was more than likely fearful for his very life. Although he did ask the Lord to take care of those that were pursuing him, he knew that his ultimate joy would be in his salvation from his enemies and not their destruction. He was completely and totally depending on the Lord for protection and his joy came from his faith in God. the dark; joy flows in the night as well as the day; joy flows all through persecution and opposition; it is an unceasing fountain bubbling up in the believer, a secret spring which the world cant see and doesnt know anything about. The Lord gives his people perpetual joy when they walk in arm and arm with Him. D. L. Moody We have just come to the close of another year. Many of you have gone through tremendous trials, heartaches, and losses this past year, but just like David, just like Leo Buscaglias mother, and just like D. L. Moody you have all rejoiced in the Lord of the truth. Im sure the New Year has its own set of hardships just waiting for us, but I am confident that a God who loves us enough to hang on a cross and die will love us through any hardship that comes our way. Jesus is our reason to rejoice in the midst of our struggles and grief. Stay close to Him this next year and remember always that In His presence is the fullness of joy. Ps. 16:11

No matter what I say or do, My work is never done; I cannot find the time to pray, Or get away alone. My house, my friends; Lord pity me! Ive time for them, but none for Thee! The children worry me to death, The breakfast things are there; The stockings all unmended yet, And I have had no prayer! What shall I do with all these cares? My heart is full of doubts and fears! When John comes home, Im all done up; We used to kneel and pray, But since the children came, you know, Thats all been done away! So much to do, the children fret; And I, alas! too soon forget.

Theres something wrong with me, I know, I never meant it so; When things go wrong, ah, woe is me! The sharp word, or the blow! God needs to calm my troubled sea, But He must first rule over me! The washing of a kitchen floor, Is known to God above; He knows it when the children cry, His very name is Love!

When clothes wont dry, and folks dont care,

God stands behind me, even there!

My God, take Thou my hand in Thine! I am no use at all; Unless Thou rulest me and mine, The house is sure to fall! Whateer I do, whereer I be, Rule over everything for me!

As part of Fruit of Her Hands Ministry here at Calvary Chapel Reno-Sparks, we pray we will be able to continue to bring Gods love and joy to others through the blanket ministry. If you would like to help with the blanket portion of Fruit of Her Hands Ministry, you are welcome to participate by donating fleece, helping us tie blankets or knitting/crocheting blankets at home you would like to donate.

Fruit of Her Hands Ministry

Mr. W. found there was a need in our community for those who are less fortunate. He also became aware of a group of talented women from Spanish Springs who were knitting and crocheting blankets, hats and scarves as a way of healing hearts full of sadness. It was a perfect combination for God to work in broken hearts and bring love, joy and healing. When Mr. W. heard that Calvary Chapel RenoSparks had a ministry called, Fruit of Her Hands and that the women involved in this ministry had the desire to share Gods love and joy with others through the making of warm fleece blankets, Mr. W. became so encouraged. Here in his own home church God was growing a ministry that brought such blessings to others and he was feeling blessed to be part of it. Mr. W. has now collected several hundreds of hats,

Titus 2
Unbroken Joy
By Beverly Chong When my spirit has been broken with unbearable pain I will count on His Joy to sustain me once again. Though my life be turned upside down and left scattered in pieces, My hearts eyes will see His hands holding each one Making needed changes to fit each season. Disappointment and discouragement surround me with no room for understanding, But the awareness of my Lords presence Joyfully comforts me beyond any questioning. My body may be crushed, with health slipping away, But the truth He placed in my heart always reminds me He promised never to leave, but to stay.

You see, the presence of the Lord is your Joy. Its the joy that surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7). It is also a command from God (Psalm 37:4). God gives us many commands that are based on obedience; actions that could never be done within our abilities. But it is also a gift from God. It is the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) that we had nothing to do in creating for ourselves. We are not capable of being joyful all the time, especially when our hearts are grieving; when our hearts are filled with bitterness and anger, or when we are faced with a mountain of questions and impossible circumstances which cause us to want to scream, run away and give up. We all tend to look at our circumstances as physical and tangible, not spiritual as God sees them. Joy is our gift from God, when our focus is purposefully taken off our pain, discouragement, disappointment, failures, and feelings of downright spiritual destitution and placing that focus above it all, on His presence of immense love for us. Knowing and accepting all of this, equips us with strength to experience unbroken joy.

May our precious Lord Jesus caress your heart with His great love and cause you to be filled with His Joy, His gift that surpasses All of your understanding.

Unbroken Joy
was the theme that we were given to write about and when I pondered on the word unbroken it spoke of something continuous and ongoing; and I am led to remember the deep times of ongoing fellowship and joy that I experience when I am spending intimate time with my Abba, allowing His Spirit to speak to me and remind me of His LOVE, His protection, His grace, His mercy, His compassion, His forgiveness. His Word speaks to the deepest parts of my soul, convicting me, consoling me and cleansing me; and this is where I am renewed and refreshed with the cleansing rain that only our God can bring. was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right had of the throne of God. We, precious sisters, are the Joy that this verse is talking about, so as Jesus went to the cross looking forward to spending eternity with us; we with grateful hearts should be looking forward to eternity with our Redeemer. Yes, we will have hard times, yes we will have trials, but our joy can be continuous and unbroken as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

I am reminded of times when my car is dirty. The window that I look out of is full of dead insect guts, droppings from birds and just the normal ongoing filth of not being cleaned. Then the rain comes from above ridding that window of all the filth that had been allowed to stick to it. It is at this time that I can begin to see and respond to the world around me with clearer vision.

We can apply this to our time spent with our Lord in prayer and in the Word as He cleanses us of the filth of the world that has stuck on us. The rain of Gods Word refreshes us, renews us, fills us, gives us vision to be about His business and we are encouraged to press forward in service to the One that gave His life for us. Hebrews 12:2 says, Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that

Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that, The Joy of the Lord is our strength. The Holy Spirit in us, continues to remind us of the things that Jesus has said, He continues to calm us during the calamities of life, He continues to reassure us when our faith begins to waiver, He continues to comfort us in times of loss, He continues to give us wisdom when we desperately need it, and He continues to give us strength to go the course. God in us is our joy! Emmanuel God is with us!! He is our strength. He will never leave us nor forsake us!!! John stated in 1 John 1:3-4, that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full! I encourage you to not only stuff yourself with food over this Christmas holiday, but stuff yourself with Jesus this Christmas season and your joy will be full!!

Gods love is an unbroken gift of joy for us to accept and to share. Obedience is another gift of Gods complete joy that we should eagerly embrace. John 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full. We ask, how could Jesus use the word joy when he was humiliated, beaten and crucified? His joy was knowing that man would be redeemed through His blood shed on the cross. A heart that believes in the forgiving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is a heart who walks fervently in their relationship with their Lord and Savior. One day death will take us from this world, but the unbroken joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ will take us through eternity.
