THE CONGREGATIONAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH (info from flyer) "We are the...

" Conference: The Lord expects His local churches and ministers to voluntarily associate with others of like faith. "The Conference" is simply an important tool to help us practice the positional unity of God's family. The Lord calls His Church to evangelize the world and edify the Believer. This requires genuine interdependence. Congregational: "Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, universal and local! Jesus Christ is the Lord of the individual conscience! Jesus Christ speaks with final authority in the Scripture!" Holding these and other Congregational convictions, we identify historically with Separating Congregationalists of England and their New England descendants. Today, we also seek fellowship with Christians in Community or Bible churches, who believe in Congregational principles. Christian: Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for membership in Christ's Church. The term "Christian" properly applies to those who trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Churches: Our members hold to the Biblical doctrines which mark and conserve evangelical Christianity. These are stated in the next columnn. We consider them minimal for participation. Christians have exceeded these seven statements with entire systems of Biblical Theology. We recognize these systems and cherish the opportunity to examine them with one another. "We believe in..." The Bible: We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written. The Trinity: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Salvation: We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. The Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling power and fullness the Christian is enabled to live a godly life in this present evil world. The Resurrection:

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. Spiritual Unity We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.
