Mr. Brian Peixoto P.O. Box 9106 Concord, MA 01742-9106

Mr. Peixoto: I received your letter. I do not know Dr. Laposata personally. However, he and I have worked together on alleged child abuse cases in the past. It is certainly possible for a child to suffer serious or even fatal head injuries as the result of a short fall. It is also possible for a child to have a significant lucid interval prior to the onset of seizures or cessation of breathing. Finally, it is possible for an existing, or chronic, subdural hematoma to re-bleed spontaneously or from another minor impact. I have several articles that may be helpful for you. I will send these articles to your family through the Hotmail account. I will also send them a link to a site where they can download a number of additional articles and several recent court decisions. I will also contact the Innocence Network to see if anyone in Massachusetts is able to help you. Sincerely,

John Plunkett, M.D. JP:dp Enclosure cc (via e-mail): Dr. Michael Laposata The Innocence Network
