Especially for the extraordinary, we are the right partner special solutions are our specialty. The processes in a rolling mill are becoming more and more complex, accordingly the meshing of mechanics, hydraulics and electrics is likewise getting increasingly closer. Therefore, we at H&K have a team of more than 50 engineers and technicians from different disciplines working together hand in hand. Mechanical, electrical and building engineers as well as software specialists realize plants with seamlessly interconnecting components and reliably operating interfaces. This close cooperation enables us to realize all-the-way-through control and network systems in addition to the mere plant technology. Our solutions include material tracking functions as well as data exchange with higher-level systems. We continuously endeavour to keep our facilities at the latest state of the art. For basic engineering and detail planning tasks, we use 2D and 3D CAD workplaces; for the calculation of complex mechanical designs, we employ FEM software (Finite Element Method). A team of experienced technicians and commissioning personnel renders our customers assistance during all stages of a project, from installation of the systems through to production support.

Our plants also save time during product changes. Semiautomatic roll changes reduce set-up times and increase the efficiency of the entire rolling mill. In our plants, the material is fed automatically. This improves safety, as the operators stay at a safe distance from the line. Unique: Our 180 roller-type turnover devices turn the rolling stock through its central axis, enabling automatic rolling with an extremely short pass sequence.

The multiplicity of design features makes our rolling stands unique in terms of efficiency and reliability. Thanks to our servohydraulical or electromechanical roll gap controls and high-precision measuring and control technology, our customers produce perfectly dimensioned semi-finished products. On reversing rolling mills, our intelligent turnover and shifting devices position the rolling stock between the passes quickly and precisely a basic precondition for an automatic rolling process and high throughput rates.

We offer an ample range of equipment for cold and hot cutting, including systems that position the material with highest precision on the machine.
Our customers can avail themselves of a great variety of proven solutions for clamping and holding the sections to be cut and for sample cutting. For exceptional requirements, we develop and realize customized solutions. Our range of sawing, cutting and shearing equipment is complemented by solutions for handling scrap such as long or short cut-off ends and for chopping steel bars. Unique: A type of water cooling for hot and cold cutting machines prevents caking of grinding dust.

Be it for in-process cuts, where speed counts, or for cutting to selling size, where highest precision and clean cut edges are required we always have the right equipment. The precision of the cuts depends on the positioning accuracy. High-precision positioning of the material is guaranteed by our hydraulically controlled length stops or laser-based systems.

Our cooling beds and straightening machines guarantee that the products leave the mill as desired.
Cooling beds Controlled cooling, for example of rails, is enabled by the patented, software-controlled prebending process and the exact positioning of the products on the cooling bed.

Roller straighteners We offer horizontal straightening machines for straightening railway and crane rails and heavy beams. Vertical, horizontal and axial adjustment of the straightening shafts is computer-controlled. For the full range of products from sections and rails through to heavy beams, H&K supplies vertical straighteners equipped with hydraulic lock for the straightening shafts. Also in this field of technology, we place special emphasis on efficiency and process security. H&K manipulators for feeding the material into the straightening machines can turn the products through up to 230. The control of the manipulator automatically adapts to the specific product.

Unparalleled: Thanks to the application of the patented system for asymmetrical distance adjustment of the straightening roller shafts, H&K equipment is uniquely suited to minimize offsize lengths and residual stresses in the material.

H&K Industrieanlagen GmbH has its roots in Koch Transporttechnik GmbH, founded in 1945 and specialized in conveying and mineral processing equipment. The integration of Hoestemberghe & Kltsch GmbH in 1994 expanded the companys competence into rolling mill technology. The acquisition by FLSmidth in 2007 marked the beginning of worldwide business activities. In 2010, Wolfgang Gerhard and Gerhart Hlzl established H&K Industrieanlagen GmbH as a management buy-out. Since 2011, the company has its headquarters in Rehlingen, in the German state of Saarland. Today H&K is present worldwide, with branches and representations in Linz/Austria, Moscow and Shanghai.
