I hope everyone has had a joyous Christmas season and New Year. I know personally there's nothing better than getting together with family and watching the kids open gifts. For the Men's Auxiliary next pancake breakfast we will be hosting the Junior AFROTC, we are expecting quite the crowd of new faces and we would love to see all the familiar faces we are accustom to seeing at every breakfast. Without our loyal dedicated customers the Men's Auxiliary would not have the success we have. So thank you all very much. I'd like to welcome our newest member Allan Johnson to the Men's Auxiliary. If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the Men's Auxiliary or knows of any one that would be interested please feel free to contact myself or the VFW with any questions. I would be more than happy to help answer any questions you may have. On the membership note, if any members have not paid your yearly dues please send your payment to the VFW and mark on the envelope in care of the Men's Auxiliary. Lets all give thanks to all the brave soldiers serving over seas who help guarantee our safety and freedom. Josh Haugen 701-261-4763 President of the Men's Auxiliary

If you are a continuous (pay your dues every year) member there have been a couple changes this last year. I have already written about the dues increase that took effect January 1 2014. The other change is the move to what is called subscription dues. Under the old program the st new dues year started July 1 . So if you paid your yearly membership on June 1st, it was only good for a month and you would owe your next year's dues on July 1st. Here is how it is changed. If you have already paid your dues for this year, your new due date will be December 31 2014, and will continue to be December 31 of each year as long as you stay current. If you forget to pay your dues by December 31st, the day that you do finally pay will become your new due date. Say that you did forget to pay your dues until June 1st 2014. Your dues will now be good for a year, and your new due date would be May 31 2015. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact us. John
Thank you to everyone that came out on Dec. 21st to buy Christmas Decorations from the Jr. Girls. They raised enough money to go to camp this summer. Thanks to Alice Hellen, Ladies Aux member and Great Grandmother to one of the Jr. girls for donating all of the decorations. Our next meeting is Jan. 9th at 12:30, and we will also have a meeting at the Mid-winter conference. Joann Lien and Karen Haugen, Advisors

Greets Comrades, Well winter is defiantly upon us. Already celebrating a new year, I sincerely hope all of you had a great Christmas. We had a very successful last couple of months at the VFW. The supper club is doing great, as always there is room for improvement but we are making headway. We also hosted the 2/136th INF (Local Guard unit) Christmas party. We (VFW) is trying to become more involved with these soldiers as they are part of our community and many are Veterans. We are hoping to get more of these young troops involved with the VFW. Several of our members were asked to help serve the Christmas dinner for Bco 134th Signal (Another local guard unit) so thank you to Jim Beckstrom and Roger Christopherson. Later in the evening we hosted a meal for Bco Signal as well. It was another successful event and a small way of saying, Thank you. In closing our country is facing difficult times, if you are concerned about new legislation or taxes or anything for that matter, please contact your elected officials and tell them so. Many men have fought and died for your right to voice your opinion to our Government, please do not let their sacrifice be for naught. Yours in Comradeship Jason

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Membership is at the top of my priority list, there are still several members that have not paid their dues for the new year. Please get it in the mail as soon as possible. We need your membership dollars, so we can support our Veterans programs. Mark your calendars for the 1 Sunday of the month, as we will continue with our lunches. In January we will be serving Meatballs with mashed potatoes & gravy, in February we will serve Roast Beef, along with the other menu items. Lynette and Joe are great cooks, come check it out, you wont be disappointed. Thank you to all of you that have been volunteering to help with bingo at the VA, selling the cancer socks over the holidays, the pumpkins at Thanksgiving at the VF, baking for and selling at our bake sales, for helping with the Sunday lunches, etc. You are a great group of auxiliary sisters and I am very proud of all that you do to help our veterans. If you would like to join us, just give me a call, there is always room for another volunteer. On March 15th we host the District 9 meeting. That evening we will be hosting District 9 President Lynette Andel's testimonial. We will need several volunteers that day and evening, please give me a call if you would like to help. Keep our Veterans and their families in your prayers Karen Haugen
