Current Openings Producer and Associate Producer Positions

Location: Mumbai, India
Responsible for the content, look and "feel" of Yahoo! properties. Part project manager, part marketer, part creative strategist and total on-line visionary, a producer is at the very heart of what we do-delivering branded media properties to the most sought after audiences on the Internet. And since great content attracts great advertising, producers build our brand while boosting our revenues. Producers strive to identify good compelling content that will attract and retain Yahoo! users. The role of the Producer is to project manage the development of Yahoo�s vertical content products (e.g. Sports, News, etc.). Each Producer is responsible for 2-3 content areas (channels), including the product development and on-going maintenance activities within them. The Producer coordinates business partner relationships to drive the content for single or multiple channels. To achieve this, the Producer must have vision to identify good content and understand the technology that will deliver the content. This may involve managing the development and integration of a co-branded product developed by a third party, or it may involve procuring content feeds by working with an internal product development team from GUI designers, business development, editors and engineering to design and develop in house. Associate Producer

Key Responsibilities: o Responsible for working with a senior level producer to learn and master the basics of how to build products. o Act as the front line person for questions; creating schedules documentation and other tools to communicate the project/product requirements. o Will undertake and implement basic changes to existing service

Accountability: o Responsible for lower level, less complex projects/products. May be assigned to work on multiple channels.

Leadership: o Provided with close direction and guidance from a senior level producer.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities o 1-2 years of Internet experience, strong interest in and knowledge of specific category, excellent writing skills or editorial background, as well as project management experience. Demonstrated proficiency in HTML, Photoshop, Word and Excel. Experience working closely with engineers and as part of a team preferred. Experience with consumer marketing and competitive analysis is expected. Previous work in a web development environment and/or consumer software product management is preferable. o Should be able to work within a cross-functional team environment and have previous project management experience with good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. High energy and a good sense of humor is required.

College graduate preferably with a degree in computer science, marketing or related areas (or have equivalent experience).

Producer

Key Responsibilities: o Great understanding and ability to clearly articulate the vision for the assigned products. Requires proven understanding of who to get involved to get things done. Understanding of how the products interact and can anticipate how one may affect another. Builds competitive analysis and defines the feature set and content used for the product. Provides design team with a draft of the product and the flow of the service (product plan). Develops the revenue model for the product. o Possesses a strong grasp of deal elements. Implements new channels for a preselected partners and new content in that realm. o Responsible for educating senior management, PR, marketing, customer service, and sales on the product/service.

Accountability: o Responsible for key projects adding to the cross-functional experience in more than one area.

Leadership: o Provided with direction and guidance from a senior producer.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities o 3 to 5 years of product marketing/product management experience. Experience with consumer marketing and competitive analysis is required. Previous work in a web development environment and/or consumer software product management is expected. o Must be able to work within a cross-functional team environment and have previous project management experience with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. High energy and a good sense of humor is required. o College graduate preferably with a degree in marketing or related areas (or have equivalent experience).
