Morning Prayer @ 8:30 a.m. – All worship participants gather for prayer each Sunday at 8:30
a.m. As we grow into a house of prayer for all people, you are welcome to join them any Sunday!

Welcome Guest Worship Team Today – Please extend a special welcome and thanks to the
worship team from the Church of the Great Commission for providing music today. Our Joyful Noise
is providing music for their worship this morning…at their new home on Forsyth Road.

Attention Splash Zone Parents – Please sign up to supervise in the Splash Zone this summer.
We are showing videos so our emcees can take a break until school starts. We ask that EACH
family with children in the SPLASH ZONE please consider taking one Sunday. Thanks!

Journey Group Meets Today – The Life Liners meet for Prayer, Bible Reading, and Fellowship
today in the classroom following the 10:45am service. All are welcome. See Leon Wheeler.

SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry – During the summer SoJ’s Hispanic Ministry meets Sundays at 1pm for
Bible study, prayer, fellowship meals and special activities for the families. All are welcome!

Women's Book Club Tuesday – SoJ’s Book Club meets Tuesday at 7:15pm to discuss "Water for

“When God’s People Pray” Adult Study Wednesday – Join Pastor Jeff and SoJ’s Prayer Vision
Team 7pm Wednesday for a video Bible study with Pastor Jim Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle
entitled When God’s People Pray. Discover the keys that unlock the power of prayer!

Youth Depart Saturday – 14 SoJ youth and 4 adults depart next Saturday for their servant week
at YouthWorks in Birmingham, Alabama. Please remember them in your prayers!

First Communion – At SoJ parents decide when their children are ready for communion. A two
session class for parents and children will be held this summer. Sign-up at the Welcome Center!

Congregational Wet ‘n Wild Outing August 4 – Saturday August 4th was clearly the preferred
date for SoJ’s all-congregation outing to the Wet ‘n Wild Water Park. Over 40 people have already
signed up so go ahead and add your name to the list today at the Welcome Center! The group
rate will be approximately $24 for adults and $20 for children up to 9 years old.

Get Acquainted Gathering August 5 – If you are new to SoJ, a Get Acquainted Gathering will be
held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday August 5th at Pastor Jeff and Patti’s. Enjoy some dessert and
conversation with the Linmans and others new to SoJ. Sign up at the Welcome Center soon!

Oceanfront Re-Member Your Baptism Celebration August 12 – As the grand finale for our
Wet ‘n Wild summer sermon series we are offering a unique opportunity for everyone to affirm
and re-member their Baptism, Sunday afternoon, August 12 at 4 p.m. in the Atlantic Ocean
adjacent to Steve and Denise Beumer’s condo in Cocoa Beach. Come early to enjoy the beach if
you’d like! You may “re-member” in any way you’d like: splashing, diving, or dunking! If you have
never been baptized, this would be a great time to do it. There are three already planned! Talk to
Pastor Jeff soon! After the celebration, we will adjourn to the community room and pool area of
their condo, to enjoy a potluck cook-out! Carpooling will be offered from SoJ. Sign-up soon!

Women’s Bible Study – Calling all women! Mark August 14 on your calendars! The women of
SoJ are starting a new Bible study on the book of James. We meet the second Tuesday of the
month at 7:15 p.m. for fellowship and faith building. Questions? Call Mitz Oates at 407-277-7916.

Young Adult Community (YAC) – Our YAC includes our college ministry and young adult min-

Paid Nursery Attendant Wanted – To provide continuity in care and ease our nursery’s
volunteer load, SoJ is hiring a part-time nursery attendant to work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Applicants should be faithful Christians, love children, and have a background in early
childhood education. If you, or someone you know is interested, please speak to Pastor Jeff today.

Additional Volunteers Urgently Needed – If you are able, please consider helping out in the
following ways at SoJ:
• Cleaning Team Volunteers: Meet Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. See Bob Belk today!
• 2nd Service Bookstore Volunteers: Before and after the 10:45am worship. See Diane Belk.

• Tech Booth Volunteers: Serve one Sunday a month on sound or computer. Training provided.
See a tech booth volunteer today!

Bicycle Ministry – This unique SoJ ministry provides bicycles to people in need. Volunteers are
needed. Meet in the back storage room at 10 a.m. the 2nd Saturday each month, and 10 a.m.
Wednesdays. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? Call Will Stevenback: 407-401-1963.

Adult Literacy Training – The Adult Literacy League has over forty adults who need help to
become functionally literate. The next training session will be August 2 and August 4. If you have
1 ½ hours a week to prepare a lesson, tutor, and enjoy changing a life, this is a great opportunity.

SoJ Quilters – QUILTERS meet the first Monday of each month. We need volunteers to cut
squares and sew backs at home. Workers are needed so please join us and plan to go to lunch

Congregational Care Team Update – SoJ’s Congregational Care Team offers spiritual, emotional
and physical care for those in need. If you know of someone in the hospital or sick at home, call
SoJ’s office 407-282-4569 so we know of the need and can respond accordingly through both the
pastoral staff and the Congregational Care Team. The Team is looking to start a "transportation"
ministry for those that need rides to church or to doctor's appointments. To become involved in
any way, contact Pam Rousseau 407-568-4093 or Marsha Call 407-375-7813.

Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth are now able to recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell
phones. Please bring your empty cartridges and unused cell phones to the Welcome Center
and drop them into the appropriate boxes. Thanks for partnering with us in this fundraiser!

Giving Update: While gifts to SoJ’s General Operating Budget have been solid all year, we have
been falling behind in gifts received for our Building Fund! Whatever help you can provide will be
appreciated! Also when you’re completing your checklist for things to do before heading off for
vacation this summer, don’t forget to drop off or mail in your offering for SoJ!

Joy Singers – Our adult choir, open to anyone from high school age and up, will resume
rehearsals this Wednesday at 7pm. All are welcome!

Joyful Noise – Our Sunday morning worship team rehearses on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. We are
currently looking for an additional bass player and vocalists. Interested? Contact Phil Greve.

Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – The Creative Arts Studio has 11 instructors teaching almost every
