Tiny Tumblers for children, ages 3-8, with disabilities Marion Diehl Rec. Center, 2219 Tyvola Rd. Mondays, February 3, 10, 17 & 24 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. $35.00 for 4 week session Stacey.Thomas@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Abigail.Wilkerson@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Tiny Tumblers is a fun and positive introduction to gross motor skills. The weekly classes will develop confidence and build strength, balance, and flexibility. Your child will make new friends while enjoying pre-school and youth gymnastics equipment, obstacle courses and various teaching aids. School’s Out Club for Youth for youth, ages 6-12, with disabilities Marion Diehl Rec Center, 2219 Tyvola Road February 17, 2014 (Monday) February 18, 2014 (Tuesday) 8:30 am - 4:30 pm $35.00 Stacey.Thomas@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Abigail.Bergman@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov During this school day out, children will play games, make crafts, and engage in physical activities! Pep Squad for youth and teens, ages 13-25, with disabilities Marion Diehl Adaptive Field, 2229 Tyvola Road (Queens Sports Complex) March 19 – May 07, 2014 (Wednesdays) practices *No practice on April 16th* 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm (youth and teens) March 22 – May 10, 2014 (Saturdays) games *No games on April 19th* 10:00 am – 11:00 am (youth) 11:00 am – 12:00 pm (teens) $50.00 – shirt Ariel.Kliem@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov The Pep Squad provides an opportunity for teens and young adults to participate in cheerleading and be a part of a team, all while having fun with friends! Paralympic Boccia for teens and adults, age 13 and older, with a physical disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, or stroke. Marion Diehl Rec. Center, 2219 Tyvola Road February 3- March 10 (Mondays) 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm $25.00 Jana.McMullen@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Test your strategy. The object of boccia is to throw/roll a game ball closest to the target ball. This program is part of Paralympic Sport Metrolina.

Paralympic Boccia Tournament for teens and adults, age 13 and older, with a physical disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, or stroke. Mallard Creek Recreation Center, 2530 Johnston-Oehler Road, Charlotte, NC 28269 March 1st (Saturday) 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Jana.McMullen@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Paralympic Sport Metrolina will host the first regional Paralympic boccia tournament. Players from Raleigh and surrounding areas will participate in individual and team competitions. Come out and play a round or support local players. The object of boccia is to throw/roll a game ball closest to the target ball.

Spill Your Beans for young women with disabilities ages 16 and up McAlisters Deli 4805 Park Road February 24th (Monday) 5:30-7:00pm $10.00 (does not include the cost of dinner) Ariel.Kliem@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Welcome to a super-charged ladies night! Spill Your Beans provides the opportunity for young women to talk about and gain support for issues they’re facing in their lives, such as health & safety, independent living, relationships, friendships, and self-esteem (participants will have the opportunity to choose the topics to learn about). Each month we will host a guest speaker or lead a discussion about issues that are important to you. Fuel for Life for young men, ages 18-35 with disabilities McAlister’s Deli, 4805 Park Road February 24th (Monday) 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm $10.00 (does not include the cost of dinner) Abigail.Wilkerson@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov Come hang out with the guys, fuel your body with a good dinner, and fuel your life with good conversation. Fuel for Life provides the opportunity for young men to talk about and gain support for issues they’re facing in their lives. Each month we will host guest speakers and discuss different topics, such as employment and job skills, relationships, life goals and values, and other topics that are important to you.
