Primary Responsibilities Ensure the sustainable financial health of Dow Corning, develop sound planning and investment strategies for global operations. Lead financial and enterprise risk management programs to achieve global balance. Oversee Dow Cornings business in North America by ensuring the effectiveness of our compliance and ethics programs.
Experience and Expertise Dons 31-year career with Dow Corning has included professional roles in accounting, finance, marketing and management. In 2001, he was named General Manager for web business and led the development of the companys first web-based business model designed to offer customers high quality products at market-driven prices. This business model earned notoriety for its innovative design and became a Harvard Business School case history. Don was named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and North American Regional President in 2009. Education Don earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Albion College and a Master of Business Administration in Operations Management from the University of Michigan. External Representation Don serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Albion College; a director of Wolverine Bank; a director of MidMichigan Health System; a director of Tri-Star Trust Bank; a director of Business Leaders for Michigan; a member of the Endowment Committee for First United Methodist Church; and a director of the Midland Center for the Arts. In 2013, Don was inducted to the Junior Achievement of Central Michigans Business Hall of Fame, and he earned national recognition from Sigma Chi fraternity as a Significant Sig in 2012.
