Introduction

AFR8630 is a biometric smartcard reader features a optical sensor to verify and record fingerprint for security door access purposes. It incorporates the industry-leading fingerprint recognition algorithm making a cost effective solution. The data output of this reader is industry standard wiegand format making it easy deployment.

This user manual is design to shows the installation, mounting, administrative and operation of AFR8630.

Function

AFR8630 act as a reader to ACU controller series. It authenticate Mifare card, ID, Fingerprint, and PIN number. The ACU controller at the backend authenticate if the user is valid to access at the timing and location using UAG.

When a new user is added to a card reader. The reader will ask for Mifare card, ID, Fingerprint and Pin number.

Mifare card or ID are mandatory elements which must be added to be a valid user. Fingerprint and password (Pin number) are non-mandatory element so it is not enforced to be added during the enrolment process.

But what elements put in during the enrolment will affect the operation of individual user. Enrolment type chart

Upon power on the reader LCD will iniitialize and boot to the home screen.

The home screen will display date and time. The home screen will dim light for enegry saving after no activity.

The LCD display primary pupose is use to prompt user instruction on door access. Administrator will also use the LCD display for the admin purpose explain in adminstrative session of this manual.

There are 3 LED indicator on the reader.

Red LED always On when reader is Power ON.

Green LED only ON upon Access success.

When access is not successful or registration error a third LED will turn on RED.

Buzzer sounder

The reader is equip with buzzer to give audio indicator. The buzzer will sound upon keypress of card flash.

Delete Card

From Add Card session step 3 Choose Delete User

Activate and Deactivate User

Added user can be temporarily deactiactivate for security reason.

To do that go login to the reader from default screen. Goto step 3 click Deactivate User by clicking 4

Security Level

The security of the reader can be adjust by security level. The security level range from 1 – 5 (5 highest level)

To change the security level Login from the default screen, key 2 for setting, and 2 again for security level.

To change current administrator login password. Login from default screen, key 2 for setting, key 3 for administrator

Note that the new manager will overwrite the current manager rights to access to the reader menu.

Set IP Config

To set IP address for central enrolment. Login and key 2 for setting, key 4 for IP Config.

IP :192168168100 SM :255255255000 GW :192168168003 IP :

Key in new IP address in the blank space. Example IP address : 192168168200

Key in IP address “IP, Subnet mask “SM”, and Gateway “GW”. The reader will restart to register the new IP Address.

From the Home screen, Present your mifare card or key in your ID and press the hex key

Card/ID and Fingerprint

Present Finger Scanning

If the user is enrol with fingerprint , the reader will prompt to present finger.

Card/ID and Password

User Password:

If the user is enrol with pin, then the reader will skip fingerprint and ask for password.

Card/ID and Fingerprint or Password If the user is enrol with fingerprint and pin, the reader will prompt to present finger. If the finger fail then the reader will prompt for password.

User register with ID can access by keyin the ID follow by the # key. The reader will prompt user for fingerprint or password depends on what the user have register with.

If user have register with fingerprint and password then the reader will prompt for finger first if failure occur then the reader will prompt for password.

IMPORTANT

The message display only dictate the access status on the reader but not on the door.
