General Instructions for Administering All Five Tests
Uniformity of Test Procedures
To ensure that all GED examinees receive a fair and equal chance to pass their test(s), ALL of the instructions in this booklet MUST be followed. Failure to administer the tests in the prescribed manner may invalidate an examinee’s results.

Verification of Examinee’s Identity
Examinees must be registered (have their name on the Signature Sheet) to be entitled to write the GED tests. NO WALK-IN EXAMINEES MAY BE ALLOWED TO WRITE THE TESTS. It is essential that each examinee be properly identified before being allowed to write the GED tests. Proper identification includes: a valid driver’s license, a valid passport, other identification cards (which have a photograph, signature, and indicate the date of birth and residence). If examinees have none of the above documentation they should have contacted the GED Examiner at the college, prior to the test date, to identify other appropriate means of identification. Applicants who are scheduled to write should have received a confirmation letter from the GED office in Victoria. If examinees have no identification at all, be sure to verify that their signature matches the one on the copy of their application form that the Ministry enclosed with the test materials.

Test Environment
Tests must be administered in accordance with the prescribed procedures and under the best possible conditions in a quiet, well -lit room that is at a comfortable temperature. Examinees should be provided with adequate writing surfaces and spaced in such a way as to prevent collaboration or copying. If possible, a wall clock should be visible to all candidates writing the tests. The time remaining should be posted at the front of the room, or announced, every fifteen (15) minutes. You should make every effort to put examinees at ease. Before tests begin, identify the location of the restrooms and outline established procedures for leaving the
