Logging in to the BTS Remotely in the LMT Mode
Operation Procedure Step 1 Select Start > Programs > iManager M2000 > LocalWS. The Local NE Management System dialog box appears. Step 2 Click Configure to add the IP address of the BAM. Step 3 Select the BAM that is to be logged in to. The system starts the service maintenance system and the User Login dialog box appears. Step 4 Enter the valid user name and password. Step 5 Click OK. -End

Logging in to the BTS Locally in the LMT Mode
Operation Procedure Step 1 At the WS of the BAM side, execute the command STR CBTSRVSMNT to start the reverse maintenance. Step 2 At the WS of the BAM side, add the WS and set the command authority for the WS at the BCKM side. Step 3 At the WS of the BCKM side, run the near-end NE management system or LMT software to log in to the BTS. The BAM IP address that you set when logging into the BAM must be the IP address (172.16.16.16) of the BCKM Ethernet port . Step 4 After the maintenance is complete, execute the command STP CBTSRVSMNT to stop the reverse maintenance. ----End

Operation Procedure Step 1 Use crossover cables to connect the portable computer and the BCKM Ethernet port. Step 2 Start the Telnet client and use the following username and password to log in to the OMU: Username: system Initial password: system Step 3 Execute the command opnday to enable type-ahead function. Step 4 Execute the MML commands in the Telnet window to maintain the BTS. Step 5 ----End After the maintenance is complete, close the Telnet window.

Operation Procedure Step 1 In the service maintenance system, execute the command STR BTSTELPROXY to enable a Telnet agent for the BTS to be maintained. Step 2 In the Run dialog box, execute the command telnet: hostname port. The hostname refers to the IP address of the BAM. The port refers to the port number set in step 1. Step 3 After the Telnet is connected to the BCKM, use the following user name and password to log in to the BTS: Username: system Initial password: system Step 4 Execute the MML commands in the Telnet window to maintain the BTS. Step 5 After the maintenance is complete, close the Telnet window. Step 6 In the service maintenance system, execute the command STP BTSTELPROXY to stop the BTS Telnet agent. -End

Fault Locating
When the running state of the system is abnormal, consider the following factors: Software fault Data configuration fault Not matchable version of software or data configuration file Program run error Hardware fault Transmission or clock fault Board damage (replace the damaged one with a board of the same software and hardware version and conduct test) Backplane slot fault: Select another slot and conduct test (modify the corresponding data)

Clock System Fault Satellite Antenna Fault


Symptom: The BTS reports the alarm BCKM Satellite Antenna System Faulty. The alarm description is The satellite antennas are open-circuited and satellite signals are weak, or Antenna connection short. Troubleshooting:
Short circuit the lightning arrestor Check output voltage of satellite receiver Remove connector for ANT port on the BCKM Measure the voltage output by the GPS satellite receiver to the GPS antenna using a multimeter >= larger than 4.8 V. Insulation and short circuit Conductor of the feeder is broken Check the white short cable between the GPS receiver and BCKM panel Y Replace the GPS antenna

Symptom: BTS reports the alarm BCKM Satellite Antenna System Faulty. The alarm description is Insufficient satellites being tracked. Troubleshooting:

Symptom: The BTS frequently reports the alarm E1/T1 Bit Error Rate Too High. The transmission link is often temporarily interrupted and then recovered. The link status query result contains the exceptional statuses such as the frame or multi-frame out-of-synchronization. Troubleshooting: equipment

RF System Fault Difficult Access


Symptom: The network signal is strong, but the subscriber access success rate is low and the call-drop rate is high. Troubleshooting:
str infotrace With on-going calls, average mains RSSI ranges from 100.0 dBm to 108.0 dBm. With no on-going call, the load is zero, the average RSSI ranges from 105.0 dBm to 111.0 dBm.

Start RSSI test

Check and clear interference Check whether the antenna installation position meets the requirements. If with lightning arrester, short and check the RSSI. Use a spectrometer to trace the spectrum of the external interference source.
