ABSTRACT

The Bakkapoid Group Cosplay Philippines was founded in 2012 by Analiza Principio for Vocafusion group competition category that was held last November 2012. Cosplay is a short term for Costume Role-playing where in Cosplayers, don costumes and portray character they choose. Bakkapoid is another term for humanoid which makes them Stupid Humanoids. Ms. Analiza Principio decided to form a group based on the Vocaloid Singing Group Synthesizer. Vocaloid are voice synthesizing applications that have been sold commercially since 2004 and began from the simple concept of synthesizing the human vocals for singing. As stated in their mission, they established the group for popularity reasons, to acquire more members who practice the same fandom and to develop each of their talent. Ms. Analiza Principio started organizing photo shoots to expose her members and to enhance their portraying talent to achieve their goal.

Activity in the company starts with photoshoot of which President of the company will contact photographers all over the Cosplay community to have an open photo shoot for all cosplayers and arrange location for the said activity. Cosplayers will pose and portray character to give life and justice, then photographers will take photographs of the members and other cosplayers and will post-process all the results. During post-process, they would carefully select from the taken photos which needs to post for promotion on different social media sites. The president will choose from the taken photos and will convert it into a static music video for their promotional video. As an interview was done, the proponent found out that the current operation they were practicing isnt enough to

the result they wanted to gain. Most of the uploaded photographs on social media sites are not getting enough attention to what they are expecting it to have. Some of the chosen photos uploaded on social sites results in low quality due to blurred, pixelated and overexposed images. Their members grew bored of their unending photo shoot and static videos because they wanted to experience something new. Another thing is that their invited guests were not interested considering that open shoots are usual on the community.

The proponent decided to conduct a promotional music video cosplay live action that will solve the distress of the current operation they are exercising. It is expected to gain more attention because Music Video is not common in the community they're in. By using appropriate softwares on video editing, the low quality photos can be fixed into a high-quality one by adjusting and blending the right amount of lighting and color on the photograph. Their members and invited guests can experience something new on this music video project from shooting a dynamic scene by exciting their eyes. Promotional Videos are marketing tools designed to introduce or educate consumers about a particular organization and uses a wide range of styles of film making techniques, including animation, live action filming, documentaries, and non-narrative approaches. The proponent also chooses to adapt the song Synchronicity by Vocaloid as the music video they will conduct. The said proposal will feature the group and introduce each of their members to their respective character roles. Also, the main focus of this promotional video is to make their group famous, to experience something new to their chosen field of

passion, to gather more members and to enhance their portraying talent based from the stated mission.

By achieving the expected output of the dynamic music video, the researcher decided to work on with applications like Autodesk Maya used in computer generated imagery for the all-out animation on the music video adaptation of Bakkapoid Cosplayers that will have a duration time of 15-30 minutes. Adobe After Effects as a software for digital motion graphics, visual effects, and finishing such as image adjustment, color correction, etc., that will be used in post-production process of the dynamic music video production. And Sony Vegas Pro as video-editing software for cascading and rendering of scenes taken during video shoot for real-time video and audio editing on unlimited tracks and complex effects. The chosen hardware of the proponent is the Toshiba Satellite with system specification of Intel Core i5-2430M CPU 2.40GHz (4 CPU) processor, 8GB Random Access Memory, 500GB Hard Drive, DVDRW Read-Only Memory, Dedicated NVIDIA Video Card under the operating system of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit for the system requirements of the software applications mentioned above.

This paper aims to propose a live-action promotional music video by using computer-generated imagery and after effects for the Bakkapoid Group Cosplay Philippines Project Vocaloid which will make the group popular in the Cosplay community, to encourage more members to join their group and to develop the portraying talent they have.

The said proposal can also provide the following advantages: Exposure of the group to different social media sites. Experience shooting a dynamic promotional music video. Development of their talent in portraying different characters Expansion of their creative skills.
