Camuso, called the Fourth Regular Meeting of the Medford City Council to order at 7:00 P.M. at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, Medford City Hall. ROLL CALL SALUTE TO THE FLAG RECORDS

MOTIONS, ORDERS AND RESOLUTIONS

14-050-Offered by Councillor Penta Be It Resolved as a result of the January 29th meeting regarding the Craddock Bridge restoration and the Department of Transportation the following be supported by the city council on behalf of the City of Medford. That the Mayor as the City's negotiation authority, take the appropriate steps to timely notify the State Department of Transportation to have included in their contract advertisement language that enables the City of Medford to negotiate to be mitigated for any of the restoration and construction work that interferes,

disrupts or financially handicaps any business entity during the restoration and construction work period. The following areas have been acknowledged as fitting mitigation topics..

the replacing of any water and sewer lines from the base bridge entrance on Main Street before going over the bridge up to the center of Main Street at Five High Street. to provide for a new lighting and signalization at the Medford Square Center that can direct traffic from Main Street to both Forest and High Streets financial remuneration to any business that suffers a proven financial hardship as was granted to Boson businesses that were impacted by the Big Dig construction.

This is not to say that other areas can be considered. This mitigation clause inclusion is a proactive and responsible City action in protecting our business community and City as well.

14-051-Offered by Councillors Knight and Lungo-Koehn Be It Resolved the Medford City Council extend its congratulations to Dr. Marielena Tecce, MS, PHD on the recent successful completion of her Doctoral studies and professional licensing requirements. 14-052-Offered by Councillor Knight. Be It Resolved the Medford City Council invite representatives from the Friends of the Middlesex Fells Reservation to a Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss their efforts and priorities for the Medford portion of the Middlesex Fells Reservation. 14-053-Offered by Councillor Knight Be It Resolved the Medford City Council congratulate Lady Mustang Varsity Hockey player Brittani Lanzilli on scoring her 300th career point and becoming the third player in the history of Massachusetts high school girls hockey to join the 300 career point club. 14-054-Offered by Councillor Penta Be It Resolved that a congratulatory citation be forwarded to Brittani Lanzilli on the outstanding accomplishment of scoring her 300th goal during a Medford girls hockey league game. She is only the third girl in Massachusetts girls high school hockey to achieve this milestone.

14-055-Offered by Councillor Knight Be It Resolved the Medford City Council congratulate Andrews Middle School students Ethan Medeiros and Kiernan McFadden who were featured on the PBS television program "Design Squad Nation" where their Chain Reaction Project" was showcased. 14-056-Offered by Councillor Knight Be It Resolved the Medford City Council congratulate the following individuals on their graduation from the Police Academy and appointment to the Medford Police Department. James Grubb, Matthew Martin, Thomas Mattos, Igor Tomaz and Richard Ziobro. 14-057-Offered by Councillor Knight.
