OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

Making Disciples …...Changing the World

Beloved words to a beloved song, still perhaps echoing in our minds and hearts in the wake of Christmas. We sang them on the high holy night of Christmas Eve, and the people of God, singing in churches from Cape Horn to the Aleutian Islands, were filled with the warmth, wonder, and mystery of their meaning. We must not let the mystery or the meaning of those words ever fade from our hearts and lives! We must not! You see, ‘O Come Let Us Adore Him’ is a call to worship; a call to worship that rings through the ages and continues to ring into the Presence of God in the end of the ages when all are gathered in glory and we meet Christ face to face. Then we’ll experience all of Creation and every being under heaven singing ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ and witness more lives gathered and facing the Throne of God than

ever we’ve seen stars in the sky! ‘O Come Let Us Adore Him’ is a call with eternal consequence--a call to love God first and foremost in our lives, in our families, in our homes, in our cities, in our countries, with our talents, with our treasure, with our time and with our devotion from the very moment we realize God is God and we are not, and from the instant the “aha” dawns in us that we utterly and desperately depend upon God for every breath, every heartbeat, every moment in time and every person we’ve ever loved, been loved by, or will love in the span of life we are given. So this year, this amazing, fresh, tender shoot of a New Year stands ready for us to step onto its untrodden path and walk, run, skip, dance, play, climb, laugh, revel, enjoy, fill up, create, restore, refresh, heal, forgive, bless, understand,

accept, thank, give, receive, grow, recover, discover, soar, exult, praise, rejoice and sing in the symphony of LIFE God gives us. Worship on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Worship God in your heart and with your lives every day you have breath. Sing songs and pray prayers, breathe thank you’s and alleluias, speak words of appreciation and blessing, give your energies over to the high purpose to which God has called you this year. And in the mix of wonder, challenge, hardship and triumph the year brings, do not neglect to ‘gather together and lift your voices in prayer, and praise and thanksgiving.’ To gather together--think of it as rehearsing for eternity.

Venite adoramus!
Grace and peace, Pastor Paul

Offering R

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.”
~Matthew 5:16

This year’s Christmas Offering will be given to Fellowman International of Honduras
Fellow Man International Mission continues to well-serve the 120,000 persons in 90 villages living in the remote area of northern Honduras. Financial support is necessary for the Mission to: provide medical services, including General Family Medicine, Obstetrical/labor and delivery, Minor surgeries, Respiratory Care and Laboratory services; provide protein-enriched foods through the Agriculture Program to improve the over-all health of the people; and assist in providing school supplies, lunches, uniforms and salary support for one elementary school teacher for the near-by school in Buenos Aires. We are called to serve the poor and needy! Give generously this Christmas!

ANYWAY
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered; FORGIVE THEM ANYWAY.

The Pastor Parish Relations Committee is looking for someone who is committed to staff the nursery each Sunday morning and during special activities and services deemed necessary. We have been blessed to have funds restored to the church budget to financially support this position. If you are interested, or know anyone who is, please contact the office 620-431-4240 or Jeff Caldwell to submit a resume. We would like for this position to be filled mid to late January 2014.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; BE KIND ANYWAY. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; SUCCEED ANYWAY. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; BE HONEST AND FRANK ANYWAY. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; BUILD ANYWAY. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; BE HAPPY ANYWAY. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; DO GOOD ANYWAY. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU'VE GOT ANYWAY. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway.
(Reportedly inscribed on the wall of Mother Teresa's children's home in Calcutta, and attributed to her. However, it has since been reported that the original version of this poem was written by Kent M. Keith.)
