«List of prohibited ad restricted items»

The purpose of the document - to provide information to prevent rackets / transportation of dangerous items, substances and materials that can be used to harm the health of guests and participants of the Games or to create a threat to the safety of the Games or may cause other emergency. The document includes a full list of categories of items that are prohibited to bring into the Olympic venues during the period from January 7 until March 21, 2014. Also it includes the exceptions provided for certain categories of persons involved in the preparation and conduction of the Games in Sochi. 1. BASIC TERMS Accommodation facilities – places of accommodation of representatives of client groups «Olympic/Paralympic Family», «Press» and «Broadcasting Companies»; all Olympic and Paralympic villages and hotels located inside the secure perimeter according to the President Decree from 19 August, 2013 №686. Client groups – participants and guests of the Games that are classified to different categories (IOC/IPC, NOC/NPC, Marketing Partners, Athletesm Workforce, Spectators and etc.) Television equipment – equipment intended for professional audio and video recording and information reproduction, its processing and subsequent broadcast and transmission. Such equipment includes video cameras, accessories for professional video cameras (lenses, tripods, cases, stands, batteries, rechargers, etc.), monitors, terminal equipment (control panels, converters, switchboards, EVS and HD terminals, servers, recorders, mobile recording devices, etc.), audio equipment (microphones, transmitters, amplifiers, speakers, headsets, communications panels, audio receivers, etc.), lighting fixtures for television and radio broadcasting, and lashing straps). Photographic equipment – equipment intended for professional photography, including cameras, removable lenses, and other non-lighting devices.

Therapeutic use exemption (TUE) – permits the athlete to use medicines that are related to the doping and restricted according to the doping rules if it is necessary on medical reasons RVSS - remote vehicle screening site 2. Action on detection prohibited items All recovery actions prohibited items carried by law enforcement officials during the inspection procedures of screening persons and vehicles in specially equipped areas. In case of detection of prohibited items, the owner of the item / substance / material will be asked to get rid of him. In case of refusal to get rid of the item / substance / material item owner is not allowed to object. WARNING: storage space for prohibited items are not provided at the venues, so discovered during the inspection prohibited items / substances / materials are nonrefundable. If the item is not included in the list of prohibited items, but its size prevents from the screening in Pedestrian Screening Area (PSA), access with this item through PSA is prohibited. 3.EXCEPTIONS FROM THE LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS For various reasons at the Games-time it is necessary to allow bringing of certain categories of items, materials or substances which are on the category of prohibited. Such items are specified in the column titled «Exceptions» in this document. Also this column describes concrete client groups that are allowed to bring such items to the venues including the way of bringing (vehicle delivery, PSA, any of these two kinds)

The procedure for labeling radio electronic equipment utilized in areas where the Olympic and Paralympic Games are conducted is determined by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation with the approval of the ANO "Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014". Cell phones using GSM, IMT-MC, or UMTS standards, including built-in devices or components of other devices; 3. Mobile earth stations for satellite communications «INMARSAT,» «Globalstar,» «Thuraya,» or «Iridium»; 4. Remote control devices for automobile security systems; 5.
