The SCL license server application is NOT packaged with the HSPICE install program. Please use newest SCL license server instead of older copies. Additionally, the legacy “avantd” daemon is no longer available. For additional information, see the Synopsys Licensing QuickStart Guide at http:// www.synopsys.com/support/keys/keys.html. HSPICE, Simulation Interface (SimIF), AvanWaves, and MetaEncrypt are available on CD and by EST on all platforms, with the following exceptions: • Simulation Interface is not available on the Windows platforms.

Synopsys Release Notes HSPICE Version Z-2007.03-SP1

• AvanWaves is not available on the Linux platform. Note: The Solaris 2.9 operating system is the baseline operating system in for the current release. HP-UX is not supported as a major platform beginning with the current release. Synopsys will provide service packs and critical bug fixes on HP-UX only by request based on the Y-2006.09 version. The 32-bit binary files for HSPICE on Windows platforms are binary compatible with the Windows X64 operating system. Also, when you use HSPICE with Windows platforms that use AMD Athlon CPUs, only a single processor is supported. Obtain the appropriate binary executable files for your operating system. Table 1 lists the supported platforms for this release. Table 1 Platforms and Keywords

IA32 (x86) will only support Pentium4 and above compatible processors. Older processors such as 386, 486, 586, Pentium, Pentium2, and Pentium3 are not supported due to superior performance of the most recent popular processors. Sun SPARC, LInux and EM64T 64-bit binary files for hspice64 and hspicerf64 are packaged together with the 32-bit package files. Binary-compatible operating system. However, binary compatibility is not fully guaranteed.
