Prayers to geeta
1. geetASAstramidaM puNyaM! ya: paThEt prayata:pumAn
viShNO: padamavApnOti! bhayaSOkAdi varjita:!!

One who meditates on this transcendental geeta will overcome the sufferings of fear and
sorrow, and will get to the Lord with a form similar to the Lord.

2. geetAdhyayana SIlasya! prANAyAma parasya ca

One who persists with the practice of meditating on geeta, and sincerely practises the
breathing practice called prANAyAma will get rid of the results of all his sins from all his
previous births.

sakRudgItAmbhasi snAnaM ! saMsAra mala mOcanam!!
The bath one takes every day can remove only the dirt of the outer body, but a bath in the
realisation of geeta's message will remove the dirt called repeated birth and death cycle.

4. gItA sugItA kartavyA! kimanyaiSSAstra saMgrahai:! yA
svayaM padmanAbhasy! mukha padmA dvinissRutA:!!

For one who attentively sings geeta which is none other than the revelation from the lips
of Lord padmanAbha(the One from whose navel a lotus emerges), understanding the
essence of all other scriptures is no task.

5. bhAratAmRuta sarvasvaM! viShNOrvaktrAdvinissRutam!
gItAgajgOdakaM pItvA! punarjanma vidyatE!!

There is no rebirth in this material world for one who hears carefully and practices the
bhagavadgeeta according to its message, which is revealed directly by Lord SrI KrishNa
Himself and which is like the nectar of essense of the epic ‘mahAbhArata’.

6. sarvOpaniShadO gAva:! gOgdhA gOpAla naMdana:!
pArthO vatsa ssudhIrbhOktA! dugdhaM gItAmRutaM

Just like a cowherd milks a cow keeping a calf infront of the cow, Lord KrishNa, who is
cowherd by nature, milked all the upanishads which are like a cow, keeping arjuna as a
calf, and gave the world the milk called bhagavadgeeta which is pure, enjoyable and
capable of increasing goodness in the careful practitioner.

7. EkaM SAstraM dEvakIputra gItaM!
EkO dEvO dEvakIputra Eva!

EkOmantrastasya nAmAniyAni!

karmApyEkaM tasya dEvasya sEvA!!

The song sung by Lord Krishna alone is the scripture. SrI krishNa alone is the Lord. The
names of SrI krishNa alone are mantrams. And serving Lord KrishNa alone is any
credible action.
