(1) MM 14 Gospel Campaigns

MM14 Campaigns – While there is still uncertainty surrounding the extension of the “Count Down to the End” series for another week, the “Footprints of Hope” gospel series is set to begin its fourth week at the open lot in South Haven near the Fire Station in Yallahs, St. Thomas. Come share in the experience with the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as powerful sermons are delivered by International Speaker and Family Life Educator Pastor Shian O’Connor and Pastor Glen O. Samuels.
(2) Hagley Park Prep. School 60th Anniversary Celebrations - Feb. 15, 2014

We invite participation of all past and present family members and friends of the Hagley Park Preparatory School to join us on February 15, 2014 for the “Parade of Decades” at the Hagley Park SDA Church, as the school launches its 60th Anniversary celebrations. (3) Publishing Day Celebration at Half-Way-Tree SDA Church - Feb 22, 2014

All pastors, elders, publishing coordinators and members, please be advised that the year 2014 is being celebrated as the year of the Literature Evangelist. This grand celebration commences with Publishing Day 2014 which will be held at the Half-Way-Tree SDA Church on Sabbath February 22. A workshop will be conducted at the same venue on Sunday February 23 at 900 a.m. Pastor Dudley Hosin, JAMU Publising Director, will be the divine hour speaker for Sabbath and the main presenter at the workshop. Please come and hear about the new and better policies for career Literature Evangelists and the recruitment drive on for committed literature evangelists.
(4) Next Elders Association Meeting is Feb 23, 2014

The Elders' Association will begin their 2014 Certification Program on Sunday February 23, 2014, 9:00am to 1:00pm at the EJC Board Room. All serving Elders and Leaders are invited to attend and participate. Details of the Certification program will be given at the meeting. (5) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Comm. Services Department


Adventist Community Services general meeting and election of officers will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 10 a.m in the EJC chapel.

2. All Zones 1-3 Sabbath School personnel are invited to attend the first Sabbath School meeting at the Half Way Tree SDA Church on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 10 a.m., followed by the Senior Citizens’ Advisory ( for Zones 1-3) at 1 p.m. Keynote Speaker for Seniors: Pastor Adrian Cotterell, EJC President 3. Zone 4 LEA, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries Convention – March 29 at the Morant Bay SDA Church at 9 a.m. 4. The 2014-2015 Ambassador search has begun. We are encouraging all churches to have the juniors, teens and youth, (ages 13-22 years) participate in this programme. Application & prerequisite forms are available on our website or at our office. Registration closes March 28, 2014. 5. All Sabbath School Superintendents are reminded to ensure the implementation of the Parent Care Group (PCG) & Operation Reclamation and to register the relevant names to the MM14 Initiative. 6. Birthday greetings to our seniors, born in the month of February; wishing you good health and a blessed and peaceful 2014. -2-

(6) Notices from the Health Ministries Department 1. No organization can operate effectively without an operational budget. We are asking our Pastors to turn in their church budget by the end of March 2014. 2. Kindly take note of the following Stewardship dates: a. Stewardship Week – April 19-26, 2014 b. Stewardship Convention – May 3, 2014 c. Stewardship Training for Pastors – May 5, 2014 (IAD,JAMU) 3. One of the tools to be given to the Pastors and Stewardship Directors in the churches is a series of Stewardship lessons for members called “A Guide to Counsels on Stewardship.” This includes ten lessons which can be conducted over a two months period. Please turn in an order for the number of lessons you need for your church. The cost for each book is $150. 00. We still have some paper back Councils on Stewardship for $100.00.

4. The Ministerial Department in collaboration with the Health Ministries Department of East Jamaica will conduct a Medical Missionary Training for Pastors – An Introduction to Health Evangelism. The Programme will be conducted every Thursday in May – Dates: May 1st , 5th 20th 22nd and June 5th. . The venue will be East Jamaica Conference Boardroom beginning at 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Please register now: - Hydrotherapy and Nutrition, Vegetarian Cooling, Anatomy and Physiology, Herbal Remedies, God’s Healing Programme, Health Evangelism, Health Reform, Basic First Aid. These are some of the topics to be presented. 5. SDA Schools Temperance Week – February 17 – 21, 2014. 6. 5K Run/Walk and Children’s Fun Day – June 1, 2014

1. The Children’s Ministries department will be having its fund raising fish fry and lap-a-thon in April and May respectively. Proceeds will be in aid of our Belize mission trip and children’s home. Contact your Children’s Ministries Directors for tickets. 2. ASI/IAD Mission Preachers get ready to preach the word in the Metro Mission 14 Children’s Crusade. Invite your friends and watch them give their hearts to God. 3. Child Preachers’ Graduation will be held on March 8, 2013. The dress code is white dress/ black skirt and white blouse for females and black pants and white shirts for males. Kindly indicate any challenge that you might face with this dress code. The venue will be announced. 4. EJC Children’s choir practice will begin in March. -3-

5. Kindly send in your order for VBS materials and certificates. 6. Church Selection of Bible Spell-a-thon participants - February 22, 2014. Kindly send us the name(s) of all the children who will be participating at this level by telephone, text or email by February 15, 2013.
(8) Women’s Ministries Department

1. Girls of Eloquence Morals and Standards there is a line available for you and your non Adventists acquaintances to text/call. This service is made available so you can make suggestions, express concerns, get support for the challenges you face, receive career guidance etc. The number is 781-1565. In short order other numbers will be available to you. 2. GEMS we need a picture of you or your parent in readiness for the GEMS Mother Daughter Affair. 3. Level 3 Leaders’ Certification Training (part 1) will be conducted from March 27-29, 2014 -34. Team members we have already posted five (5) notices for you. If you have missed them please check the communication website, your church communication director or your zone president.
(9) Youth Ministries Department

1. THANK YOU: The Youth Ministries Department wishes to say "thank you" to the scores of AYS Leaders, Adventurer/Pathfinder Club Directors and their assistants who attended the Youth Workshop held at the V.H. Percy Centre on Sunday February 9, 2014. Special thanks to the organizing committee and Youth Executive Council (YEC) members who worked tirelessly to ensure we had a seamless day...Thanks again!!! Next Stop: Global Youth Day (GYD) on March 15, 2014. Let's get the engine running...
2. EXTENSION: Youth Congress 2014-Guatemala –The deadline for registration has been extended to March 31, 2014. Registration cost $US 80.00. 3. GLOBAL YOUTH DAY 2014 (GYD 2014): Start planning for this grand event…it will be bigger, and better than 2013! (Please give the orders for your T-Shirts to your Area Coordinators). The subsidized cost is $500.00 (Polo T-Shirts). 4. PATHFINDER JAMBOREE 2014 (APRIL 17-21): All Pathfinder Clubs get ready to spend your Easter Weekend with hundreds of youth from Jamaica Union @ Pathfinder Jamboree 2014. COST: Only $ 3,500.00 (includes a T-Shirt). The Venue for the Jamboree is Camp Verley, St. Catherine. Stay Posted for more details. Please note that while the books for Bible Boom are the Minor Prophets, for the Bible Boom at Jamboree it is the first three books - Hosea, Joel and Amos. For the juniors, it is 2 Samuel and St. Mark. -4-

5. BIBLE BOOM 2014: Promises to be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are Hosea-Micah. Every AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of the WORD!!! More info will be available at the Youth Workshop on February 9, 2014. PLEASE NOTE: The I.A.D Bible Boom Finals will be held in Guatemala during the Youth Congress instead of December as we have been accustomed. 6. 13th YOUTH & CHILDREN’S MISSION TRIP TO BELIZE- July 24 – August 18, 2014. Interested youth please contact the Children or Youth Ministries Department at East Jamaica Conference. Hurry, limited spaces available.(Please see letter attached) 7. JAMU E-News: The Jamaica Union is now inviting youth to submit news items, testimonials, clean Christian jokes, stories, significant happenings in your area and other articles to the EJC Youth Department for inclusion in its upcoming E-Paper. (10) Notices from the Education Department

1. The East Jamaica Conference will be hosting an Education Symposium, on Sunday, March 9, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Andrews Memorial SDA Church. A special invitation is being extended as we pool our ideas and plans to advance Christian Education. 2. Education Week is to be held May 5-10 and Education Day on May 10, 2014 "In these days much is said concerning the nature and importance of "higher education." (11) Communications Department  Availability of DVD's For MM14 Campaigns

Please be advised that all the sermons from the "Count Down to the End" Series will be available for sale at the EJC Resource Centre after the campaign comes to an end. Persons may therefore visit the East Jamaica Conference at 74 Constant Spring Road to get their supply. Details for the availability of DVD's for the "Footprints of Hope" Campaign with Pastor Glen Samuels will for forwarded in this medium next week. Please note that the unit cost for "Count Down to the End" DVD's is $300.00. If you purchase messages from one week (6 DVD's) the unit price will be $250.00 while if you purchase the entire four weeks messages (24 sermons), the unit price will be $200 or J$4,800 for the series. -5-

Based on the huge positive response from members for these messages, we are suggesting that each church place an order for the complete set which may be used by the local church for the benefit of running cell meetings or road side evangelistic campaigns. Churches that are interested in this package may forward their request through the Pastor who will relate to the Communication Department for payment and collection of the DVD's.
