EXT. MYERS HOUSE-DAY
A white two story house with a white picket fence sits still
in the cold breeze. Brown and yellow leaves rustle through
the yard from the cold fall breeze.
A lonely scarecrow sways with the wind, almost pointing
towards the jack o lanterns on the front porch.
The front door of the house opens up and out steps
JUDITH. She is decked out in a sweater with the Haddonfield
High decal written on it. The sweater swallows her small
frame signaling its not hers.
BETH MYERS (OS)
Judith.
Judith walks down the creaky old steps clutching her school
books close to her chest for warmth.
BETH MYERS (OS)
(Raising voice)
Judith.
Judith turns to face her mother. She fixes her eyes on BETH
MYERS, who is standing on the porch in her night gown with a
baby on her hip.
JUDITH
Yes, mom.
Beth shields the baby’s face from the howling wind.
BETH
You come home right after school.
Judith snarls her lip towards her mother, rolling her eyes
simultaneously.
JUDITH
That is not fair.
BETH
Sorry honey, sometimes life isn’t
fair.
JUDITH
Whatever.
Judith turns her back and walks off leaving her mother
watching.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/KITCHEN- DAY

Beth wipes off the counters with a wet rag. The baby, with
red cheeks from the wind, watches her in amazement from her
high chair.
BETH
(Baby talk)
You wanna help momma don’t you.
Beth kisses the baby on her cheek. She throws the wet rag
onto the high chair to keep the baby occupied.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/UPSTAIRS HALLWAY- DAY

Beth walks down a long carpeted hallway. The walls are
covered in pictures of the family.
BETH
Michael, are you okay in there?
Beth knocks on the bathroom door. She waits a few moments.
BETH
Michael?
Beth turns the knob.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/BATHROOM- DAY

Beth walks into the bathroom, her eyes widen as she rushes
her movements.
BETH
Honey.
MICHAEL MYERS,8, sits on the floor in the corner with his
back against the wall. He is in his underwear, eyes affixed
to the opposite wall.
Beth kneels down on both knees and crawls toward her son,
who does not respond.
BETH
Michael... honey. What are you
doing?
Beth waves her hand in front of Michael’s face. His eyes
continue to stay affixed to the wall.

Beth slowly reaches out and grabs Michael. The pressure of

her hands knocks Michael out of his state, and he grabs a
hold of her arms.
She screams as he pushes her with enough force to send her
onto her back.
BETH
(Raising voice)
Michael Audrey Myers.
Michael snaps completely out of his trance and stares at his
mother, who is slowly getting up to her feet.
MICHAEL
Hi mommy.
Beth stares at her child in her own state of trance. The
baby down stairs begins to cry breaking her trance.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/PARENTS BEDROOM- NIGHT

Beth lays with her back against the bed rest, reading a book
with aide from a lamp.
JEFF MYERS steps out of the bathroom in night clothes. He
is a tall blonde man with a stature that demands respect.
Jeff climbs into bed, pulling the covers over the top of
him.
Beth drops the book down.
BETH
Jeff, can I talk to you for a
second?
Jeff finishes getting situated.
JEFF
Of course, honey.
BETH
It’s about Michael.
JEFF
Yes?
BETH
Something weird happened today. I
went into the bathroom to make sure
he was up for school and well...

Beth stops, trying to figure out herself what happened.

JEFF
And what?
BETH
Well, I thought he was sleeping or
something on the bathroom floor. I
walk over to him and his eyes are
open. It was like he was sleeping,
but his eyes were open.
Jeff looks at his wife in confusion.
BETH (CONTD)
I know it sounds really strange,
but that’s what it looked
like. Not only that, but when I
tried to wake him he grabbed my
arms and pushed me.
JEFF
Well, he probably was sleeping.
BETH
I don’t know. But the force he
pushed me with. Jeff, I don’t know
look at my arms.
Beth pulls up her sleeves. Her arms have small hand-like
bruises across them. Jeff examines them.
JEFF
Those are some pretty big bruises.
BETH
He scared me Jeff.
JEFF
Well, did you get on to him? He’s
8 years old and he knows we don’t
condone that kind of behavior.
BETH
I would have, but he didn’t even
know he did it. It was like he was
somewhere else.
JEFF
I don’t know what to say,
Beth. Maybe he was sleeping and
you scared him just as much as he
scared you. Everything will be

dinner. I wish you would have told
me about this sooner.
BETH
Yeah, well I just didn’t want to
make a big deal. Like you said, he
was probably sleeping or something.
Jeff kisses his wife on the forehead.
JEFF
He’s fine. I love you...
goodnight.
BETH
Goodnight.
Beth puts the book on the night stand, stares off into space
a few moments and then turns out the lights

INT. MYERS HOUSE/KITCHEN- EARLY MORNING

Jeff, still half asleep, walks towards the refrigerator for
a late night snack. He rummages through the
refrigerator. After finding nothing, he shuts the
refrigerator door.
Michael stands a few feet away almost staring through
Jeff. Jeff jumps backwards.
JEFF
Woah, Mikey you scared me a little
bit.
Jeff holds his heart.
JEFF
Almost gave me a heart attack.
Jeff turns his back and looks in the pantry, trying to find
something to eat.
JEFF
You can’t sleep either, champ? I
guess it runs in the family.
Jeff grabs a bag of chips and turns around, Michael is still
standing in the same spot.
Michael’s fists are clenched so tight that his nails are
breaking the skin on his palm.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 6.

JEFF
Michael, what are you doing buddy?
Jeff puts the chips down and walks towards Michael
briskly. He grabs Michael by the shoulder.
JEFF
(Raising voice)
Wake up.
Michael "wakes up" in a fit of rage. He pushes forward with
enough force to send Jeff back a few steps. Michael’s rage
dies down.
Jeff bends down and grabs a hold of Michael’s shoulders.
JEFF
What are you thinking Michael?
Michael screams and pulls away from Jeff’s grip. He falls
to the floor screaming.
Beth runs into the room, flicking the light on. She falls
to the floor and grabs Michael in her arms. Michael begins
crying as she rocks him.
BETH
It’s okay Michael. It’s okay.
She stares at Jeff helplessly.
BETH
You’re okay Michael.
Beth continues to reassure her son that everything is going
to be okay, while secretly wishing someone would do the same
for her.

INT. DR. BRIDGES OFFICE/ROOM- DAY

DR. BRIDGES, a middle aged man slaps Michael on the knee and
smiles.
DR. BRIDGES
You look good to me, Mikey. Now
stay in here while I have a little
talk with your parents.
MICHAEL
Do you have any candy?
Dr. Bridges laughs.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 7.

DR. BRIDGES
You always know don’t you.
Dr. Bridges reaches into his coat pocket and hands Michael a
lollipop. Michael smiles a huge kid smile and grabs it.
Dr. Bridges looks at Jeff and Beth. He motions them to
follow.
DR. BRIDGES
Come with me.
They follow him out of the door.

INT. DR. BRIDGES OFFICE/OFFICE- DAY

Dr. Bridges sits down behind his desk and signals for the
Myers to sit down as well.
DR. BRIDGES
Look, as far as I’m concerned he
seems like a healthy boy. I don’t
see anything that could physically
be causing the episodes you have
described.
JEFF
So what should we do?
DR. BRIDGES
I can’t rule out that its something
neurological.
JEFF
What do you mean? Like seizures?
DR. BRIDGES
Possibly.
Dr. Bridges cups his hands together. He then digs through
his desk.
DR. BRIDGES
I have an old friend who might be
able to help. I have his card
somewhere, you should give him a
call.
Dr. Bridges finds the card.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 8.

DR. BRIDGES
There it is.
He hands it to Jeff. Jeff stares at it.
JEFF
Psychiatrist? Doctor... with all
due respect my son is not a
headcase.
DR. BRIDGES
Jeff, I’m not implying
anything. But he deals with a lot
of child behavior and he might be
able to help. I’m not saying he is
the answer, but he might lead us to
the answer. He is a great friend
of mine and a very respected
doctor.
JEFF
My son is not crazy. You hear me.
BETH
Jeff.
Beth puts her hand on his thigh to calm him down.
BETH
Lets just hear him out.
DR. BRIDGES
Jeff.. Mrs. Myers, Dr. Loomis has
been a child psychiatrist for
years. I believe his experience
can lead us in the right direction
to figure out what we need to do.
Jeff stares at Beth and back at Dr. Bridges.
JEFF
Okay.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/BATHROOM- DAY

Judith plays with her hair in the mirror. She moves her
head from side to side trying to catch every angle. She
then leans over admiring her cleavage in the mirror.
Satisfied with herself, she turns and sees Michael standing
in the doorway.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 9.

JUDITH
What are you doing, gremlin?
Judith playfully pushes Michael out of the way. Michael
grabs a hold of her hair and yanks her down to the
ground. She begins to scream.
Michael continues to pull on her hair, while Judith fights
to get away.
Beth runs into the bathroom and watches as the horror
unfolds. She rushes to grab Michael who continues to
tighten his grip.
BETH
(screaming)
Jeff!
Beth and Judith continue struggling. Jeff runs into the
room.
JEFF
(yelling)
MICHAEL.
Michael lets go of his sister and snaps his head towards his
father.
MICHAEL
Daddy.
Michael falls to the ground sobbing.

INT. SMITHSGROVE SANITARIUM/MEETING ROOM- DAY

Michael rests his head on his mothers shoulder as they wait
in the room for Dr. Loomis. Jeff is standing in the corner
pacing with worry.
The loud steel door screeches open as the three look towards
the culprit.
DR. LOOMIS steps into the room with a briefcase in hand. He
walks towards Jeff and extends his hand.
DR. LOOMIS
It’s nice to meet you Mr. Myers.
They shake hands.

(CONTINUED)

JEFF
Likewise, and you can call me Jeff.
DR. LOOMIS
Very nice. While we are on the
subject of names, you can call me
Sam.
Dr. Loomis nods at Mrs. Myers.
DR. LOOMIS
How are you Mrs. Myers?
BETH
Im fine.
Dr. Loomis changes his focus to Michael, who is hiding his
face in embarrassment. Dr. Loomis walks towards him and
leans forward.
DR. LOOMIS
And you must be Michael.
He extends his hand, but Michael continues hiding his head.
BETH
Shake his hand Michael.
After a few moments, Dr. Loomis retracts his hand.
DR. LOOMIS
Ah, don’t worry about it. We’ll
get acquainted in due time.
Dr. Loomis takes his seat across from Beth and Michael. He
slides his glasses from atop his balding head onto the
bridge of his nose. He thumbs through a few papers in his
briefcase. After a few moments, Dr. Loomis breaks the
silence.
DR. LOOMIS
(smiling)
So, how was the drive?
JEFF
It was okay. Took a couple of
hours.
DR. LOOMIS
Yeah, that’s a long stretch of
nothingness.

JEFF
You aren’t kidding.
Dr. Loomis continues flipping through pages, apparently done
with the small talk.
DR. LOOMIS
Alright, Michael... would you mind
letting your parents get something
to eat while we have a little chat?
Michael continues to hide his head.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael?
Michael raises his head and looks into the eyes of Dr.
Loomis. Dr. Loomis doesn’t break eye contact until Michael
finally shakes his head in compliance.
DR. LOOMIS
That’s better. Would you guys mind
giving us a few minutes?
Beth looks at Jeff unsure what to do.
DR. LOOMIS
It’ll just be for a few minutes.
Jeff nods towards Beth. They reluctantly walk out of the
room leaving Michael with Dr. Loomis.
DR. LOOMIS
So, Michael... are you excited
about Halloween?
Michael picks at the edge of the table.
MICHAEL
Yes.
DR. LOOMIS
I see. What are you going to be?
MICHAEL
Clown.
DR. LOOMIS
I like clowns. I like that they
have two different sides. On one
side they can be fun and loving and
on the other side they can be quite
frightening.

MICHEAL
Yes.
DR. LOOMIS
Man of few words I see. Hmmm.
Dr. Loomis continues reading over the notes.
MICHAEL
Can I ask you a question?
DR. LOOMIS
Sure, ask me anything.
MICHAEL
Are you going to fix my head?
Dr. Loomis smiles with the directness of the question.
DR. LOOMIS
Well, I am here to help you in
anyway Michael.
MICHAEL
Can you stop it.
DR. LOOMIS
What are we stopping?
MICHAEL
I don’t know.
DR. LOOMIS
How do I stop it, if I don’t know
what it is.
MICHAEL
I don’t know.
DR. LOOMIS
Can you tell me what it is?
MICHAEL
I don’t know what it is either.
DR. LOOMIS
If you find it out Michael, I will
help you with it.
Dr. Loomis gives off a false smile.

DR. LOOMIS
Michael, I’m going to have a talk
with your parents for a few
minutes. I’ll be right back.
Dr. Loomis walks out of the room and into the hallway.

INT. SMITHSGROVE SANITARIUM/HALLWAY- DAY

Dr. Loomis is met with Beth and Jeff right away.
JEFF
How did it go?
DR. LOOMIS
I’m going to be completely honest
with you. I have been a doctor in
this field for over a decade now
and this is the first time I’ve
ever seen this.
JEFF
So do you think its something else?
DR. LOOMIS
I’m not sure I follow?
JEFF
Do you think my son is crazy?
DR. LOOMIS
I don’t like to use that word, Mr.
Myers. Something is going on with
your son, but I’m not sure what it
is. The events you have described,
coupled by what little I have seen
I will need longer to make a
diagnosis.
JEFF
What are you implying, exactly?
DR. LOOMIS
Looking at the events, they seem to
be getting worse. It needs to be
fixed before...
BETH
Before what doctor.
Dr. Loomis pauses trying to choose his words carefully.

DR. LOOMIS

would like to admit Michael into
this hospit-
JEFF
Absolutely not! I will not have my
son with these freaks in here.
DR. LOOMIS
Mr. Myers-
JEFF
No, case closed.
DR. LOOMIS
You need to understand.
JEFF
No, you need to understand. My son
will not be treated like some
loony. He is an eight year old
child for god sakes. And aside
from the past few days, everything
has been fine.
DR. LOOMIS
Mr. Myers-
JEFF
We’ve heard enough, lets go Beth.
Jeff walks into the room to get his son.
DR. LOOMIS
Mrs. Myers, you need to reason with
your husband.
BETH
We are thankful for taking time to
talk to Michael today, but we will
be taking him back home with us.
Jeff walks out into the hallway holding Michael against his
shoulder.
JEFF
Lets go Beth. Thanks for your
time... goodbye.
Jeff grabs Beth by the hand.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

EXT. MYERS HOUSE- NIGHT

A car pulls up in front of the house. Judith steps out of
the passenger side, wearing a big jacket over her halloween
costume.
She leans back into the car.
JUDITH
Happy Halloween babe. Call me when
you get home.
She shuts the door and hurries up towards the house,
fighting against the wind. The car speeds away in the
background.
Judith tries to open the door, but it is locked. She stares
at the house for a moment realizing that all the lights are
out.
She finds her way in the dark to a rock and runs her hands
underneath it, grabbing a key.

INT. MYERS HOUSE- NIGHT

Judith opens the door, and stares into the complete darkness
of her house. She blindly finds the light switch and flicks
it on.
She continues forward into the kitchen.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/KITCHEN- NIGHT

Light fills the room, exposing a pumpkin bucket on the table
filled with candy. There are wrappers laying on the table,
leaving evidence of a guilty party.
Judith rummages through the bucket and picks out a
piece. She opens it and places it in her mouth.
16.

Judith turns around and walks out of the kitchen towards the
stairs.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/HALLWAY- NIGHT

Judith passes through the hallway, still chewing on the
candy. Seemingly unaware that someone followed her up the
stairs.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/BATHROOM- NIGHT

Judith throws her jacket onto the top of the toilet and
looks in the mirror. She is wearing a "dirty" maids
outfit. She leans forward into the mirror staring at her
neck. She examines a small red mark on her neck.
JUDITH
Seriously, Scott.
She sighs and turns around.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/JUDITH’S ROOM- NIGHT

Judith begins to undress out of her maids outfit. She
unsnaps her bra and digs through the closet looking for a
big shirt to wear. She puts on a big shirt that comes down
to her knees.
The baby begins to cry in the other room. Judith brushes it
off and continues getting ready for bed.
The baby continues to cry, as Judith visibly becomes
irritated.
JUDITH
(To herself)
Oh My God.
Judith storms out of her room.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/BABY’S ROOM- NIGHT

Judith flicks the light on and walks towards the crib. The
baby stops crying when she sees Judith. Judith grabs her
and puts her on her hip.
JUDITH
(Baby talk)
You have a bad dream sweetie.
17.

The baby begins crying again. Judith frowns and begins to

walk around with her. The baby continues to cry. Judith,
finally fed up, walks out of the room with her.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/HALLWAY- NIGHT

JUDITH
Mom.
Judith walks towards her parent’s room, the baby still
crying.
JUDITH
Mom, she won’t shut up.
Judith opens the door and walks into the darkness. She
finds her way through the room and sits down on the bed.
JUDITH
Mom.
Judith pushes on her mom, who doesn’t move.
JUDITH
Mom, wake up.
Judith turns the light on.
JUDITH
(Screaming)
MOM. DAD.
Beth is laying there, eyes wide open with stab wounds all
over her chest. Jeff has also been stabbed several times in
the chest.
The baby continues to cry. Judith grabs the phone and dials
911 still screaming.
JUDITH
(Sobbing)
Help me. My parents have been
stabbed. I don’t know. Just come
help me.
The baby continues to cry. A shadow of a shape is cast
across the wall.
JUDITH
(Sobbing)
Please hurry. Help us please.
The shadow begins to move.

POV SHOT:
Judith continues on the phone unaware as THE SHAPE closes
in. Judith turns around, tears in her eyes.
JUDITH
Michael.
The Shape lunges with knife in hand, sinking the knife into
her stomach. She screams and rolls away, still holding the
baby.
JUDITH
(Screaming)
Michael, no.
END POV:
Judith lets go of the phone and slips out of the bed with
the baby on her hip. The Shape lunges once again slicing
her in the back.
She screams in pain but makes her way out of the room, with
the baby on her hip.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/HALLWAY- NIGHT

She limps out into the hallway holding her stomach with one
hand and the baby with the other. She falls down to one
knee, and places the baby down on the ground.
The Shape steps into the hallway. Hidden by a bloody clown
mask, it slowly walks towards Judith.
Judith turns onto her back and just stares at her brother.
JUDITH
(Weakened)
Michael. Help.
The Shape stands over her, with the knife in hand. Judith
is unable to move. She stares up at him as he lifts the
knife up.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/DOWNSTAIRS- NIGHT

Judith’s screams pierce through the house drowning out the
baby’s cries.
19.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/HALLWAY- NIGHT

The Shape, covered in blood, steps over Judith’s lifeless
body and focuses on the baby. The baby, too young to crawl,
lays on the ground screaming.
The Shape stands over her. The baby stops crying and stares
back up. The Shape raises the knife up.
OFFICER (OS)
Hold it right there.
The Shape turns.

EXT. MYERS HOUSE- NIGHT

like Christmas.
Television crews crowd the streets.

Dr. Loomis, seated across the table, leans his head against

DR. LOOMIS
I want to help you, but you need to
talk. I told you from the
beginning... Michael... that if you
tell me what it is that is
troubling you, I would help.
Dr. Loomis runs his fingers along his goatee.
DR. LOOMIS
Where are you right now,
Michael? In order for me to stay
on this case, I need something from
you.
Michael slowly raises his head up and stares at Dr. Loomis.
Dr. Loomis leans back from the table, in amazement at how
dark and evil his eyes have become. Dr. Loomis breaks eye
contact.
DR. LOOMIS
That’ll be enough for today
Michael.
Dr. Loomis gets up and walks towards the door. Michael
continues staring at him as he leaves the room.

INT. SMITH’S GROVE SANITARIUM/DR. WYNN’S OFFICE- DAY

DR. LOOMIS
You don’t understand, there’s
something not right behind his
eyes.
Dr. Loomis paces around. DR. WYNN shrugs his shoulders.
DR. WYNN

HE KILLED 3 PEOPLE TERRENCE!
DR. WYNN
I know the case Sam. I understand
he is your patient and you have
spent the most time with him. But
Sam...you are overreacting.
DR. LOOMIS
I have seen them all. I have
counseled children who have been
raped and the men who have done the
raping. You name it and I have
seen it. I have never...NEVER seen
anything like him.
DR. WYNN
What do you want me to do? Do you
want me to take you off this
case? Is it too much, Sam?
DR. LOOMIS
No, I don’t want you to take me off
the case. I am just trying to tell
you that behind the boy’s eyes is
something dark.
DR. WYNN
How long has it been since you’ve
had a vacation.
DR. LOOMIS
I don’t need a damn vacation. Just
remember that we had this
conversation.
Dr. Loomis walks out of the door leaving Dr. Wynn alone with
his mouth open.

INT. LOOMIS RESIDENCE/KITCHEN- NIGHT

The overhead chandelier hangs over the dinner table with two
bulbs burned out, giving a low glow over the table. AMY

AMY LOOMIS
What’d you think about the food?
Dr. Loomis continues staring off.
AMY LOOMIS

Dr. Loomis looks over and smiles at her, trying to save
himself.
DR. LOOMIS
Yes, dear?
AMY LOOMIS
Forget it.
Amy pushes her chair back, grinding it across the floor as
she stands up. She grabs her plate and the plate next to

She begins washing the plates in the sink, she finally turns
around midway through her washing.
AMY LOOMIS
Sam, what is going on with you?
Dr. Loomis moves his uneaten food around with his fork.
DR. LOOMIS
Rough day is all.
He gives her a big false smile. She has none of it and
throws her dish towel onto the counter.
AMY LOOMIS

DR. LOOMIS
I know. You may not think I do,

Dr. Loomis gets up from the table and walks over to
her. She keeps her back turned, trying to hide her tears.
DR. LOOMIS

I love you both very
much. Sometimes I don’t show it,
and I will work on that.
Amy turns around, wiping the tears from her eyes with her
shirt sleeve.
AMY LOOMIS
It’s always the same fight with us,
Sam. And I am tired of it. You
aren’t the man I married
anymore. You used to be so much
better at keeping your work away
from here. That is until...
MAGGIE LOOMIS
Mommy, why are you crying?
MAGGIE LOOMIS, 7, stands there holding her teddy bear in her
hand. She has a perplexed look on her young face.
AMY LOOMIS
Its okay honey. I just had dish
soap in my eye. Your dad was
trying to help me get it out.
MAGGIE LOOMIS
I get shampoo in my eyes sometimes,
and it really hurts. Do you want

quick peck-like fashion. His daughter falls into a fit of
laughter.

INT. SMITH’S GROVE SANITARIUM- DAY

Michael sits with his hands in his lap, staring straight
ahead. Dr. Loomis is looking over a few documents with his
glasses against his nose.
DR. LOOMIS
So, do you have anything to tell me
today, Michael?
He smiles at Michael, hoping for a response. His smiles
slowly fades due to the silence.
DR. LOOMIS
Alright. You know, Michael, the
old wife has been telling me that I
have been using too much time on
this case. She might be
right. But I do enjoy hearing
myself talk.
Dr. Loomis shares a small laugh with himself.
DR. LOOMIS

How are you doing this? I could
see it for a couple of weeks, maybe
a month... but almost a whole
year? Michael I want to help
you. Let me help you.

Michael begins moving, he puts his left hand onto the

table. He appears to be holding something.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael, what is that?
Dr. Loomis stares at his closed hand. He can see something
in there.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael, can I see that?
Michael keeps his fist closed. Dr. Loomis leans over the
table. He keeps an eye on Michael as he reaches for his
closed hand.
DR. LOOMIS
I’m going to need to see what is
your hand, Michael.
He continues looking at Michael’s hand, then back up at
Michael. He moves faster and puts his hand onto Michael’s
hand.
DR. LOOMIS
Can I see it, Michael?
Michael relaxes his grip. Dr. Loomis uncrumbles the paper
and he sits down. He adjusts his glasses and stares at the
paper.
The picture is of his family. His parents, him, and his TWO
sisters.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael, who is this?
Dr. Loomis leans back over and points at the baby with the
small mole above her lip.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael, she has the same mole as
you do. Is this your sister?
Dr. Loomis says this in a questioning voice. Michael’s
breathing begins to deepen.
DR. LOOMIS
Michael, can you tell me who this
is?
Michael’s breathing has begun to deepen even more, his fists
have become clenched. Dr. Loomis notices this, and sits
back down continuing to stare at the picture.

Guards, who were watching from outside, open the door.

DR. LOOMIS
We are okay.
Dr. Loomis waves them off without even turning around. He
continues staring at the picture. Michael’s breathing has
slowed down considerably.
DR. LOOMIS
How did you get this picture?

INT. SMITH’S GROVE SANITARIUM/DR. WYNN’S OFFICE- DAY

Dr. Wynn sits behind his desk. A knock is heard on his
door.
DR. WYNN
Come in.
Dr. Loomis walks into the room, he slams the picture on the
desk.
DR. WYNN
What’s this?
Dr. Wynn picks up the picture and examines it.
DR. LOOMIS
I don’t know, you tell me?
DR. WYNN
It looks like his family to me.
Dr. Wynn sets the picture back down on the table.
DR. LOOMIS
I know who it is, but how did he
get it? And who is the baby?
DR. WYNN
Michael had that?
DR. LOOMIS
Yes, in his hand. Who is the baby?
DR. WYNN
I don’t know how Michael could have
gotten it.

DR. LOOMIS
Who is the baby?
Dr. Wynn motions for Dr. Loomis to sit down.
DR. LOOMIS
You know I hate sitting.
DR. WYNN
Sit down Sam.
Dr. Loomis sits down, figuring its the only way to get
answers.
DR. WYNN
I’m not sure who that is to be
honest.
DR. LOOMIS
Don’t give me that shit,
Terrence. They have the same damn
moles above their lips.
Dr. Wynn fixes him a drink of coffee.
DR. WYNN
You want any?
DR. LOOMIS
No I want answers, quit stalling.
Dr. Wynn takes a drink of his coffee.
DR. WYNN
Okay, Loomis. You are right, that
is Michael’s baby sister.
Dr. Loomis scowls.
DR. LOOMIS
What? How? Why wasn’t I notified of
this?
Dr. Wynn sips his coffee.
DR. WYNN
It wasn’t a huge deal.
DR. LOOMIS
Not a huge deal? Are you serious?

DR. WYNN
Can I finish please?
Dr. Loomis motions for him to continue.
DR. WYNN
Michael was found standing over his
baby sister. They got to her in
time and she wasn’t harmed. She
very well would have been if it
wasn’t for the deputy who subdued
Michael.
DR. LOOMIS
What was this not put in the police
report?
DR. WYNN
It was omitted due to the severity
of the case. It was a young child,
whose family was brutally murdered
by her brother. If it was kept
quiet from the media, it would
allow this baby to grow up with a
normal life.
DR. LOOMIS
Why wasn’t I told?
DR. WYNN
With all due respect it was above
you, Sam.
DR. LOOMIS
(Raising voice)
I’m his damn doctor!
DR. WYNN
Sam, you have to understand... for
the baby’s well being the less who
know the better. I am the only
person in this hospital, well was
the only person in this hospital to
know about this.
DR. LOOMIS
Where’s the child?
DR. WYNN
I don’t even know that one. All I
know is she was taken in by the
state and placed up for
adoption. She could be anywhere.

DR. LOOMIS
I cannot believe I wasn’t told

DR. WYNN
You keep this to yourself, Sam. We
could lose our license if this word
gets out.
DR. LOOMIS
Obviously, somebody else knows as
well. I mean someone had to have
given him the picture.
DR. WYNN
Maybe he had it all this time?
DR. LOOMIS
Could have, I suppose. Or someone
on your payroll knows just as much
as we do.
DR. WYNN
Not possible. Sam, do not say one
word about this.
Dr. Loomis gets up and walks towards the door.
DR. WYNN
I mean it, Sam. Not ONE word.
Dr. Loomis nods.

INT. LOOMIS RESIDENCE/BEDROOM- NIGHT

Dr. Loomis sits in bed staring at his notes.
AMY LOOMIS (O.S)
What’s your opinion on what we
talked about at dinner?
Dr. Loomis ignores her.
AMY LOOMIS (O.S)

Dr. Loomis looks back up at his wife, obviously annoyed.
DR. LOOMIS
Yes, honey I am listening.
AMY LOOMIS
Then what did I say?
Dr. Loomis breaks eye contact with his wife.
AMY LOOMIS
Exactly, Sam. This damn case is
going to kill you.
Amy walks over to her side of the bed and climbs in. Dr.
Loomis continues to read over his notes. He puts his notes
on the table and turns to his wife.
DR. LOOMIS
I’m sorry, honey. There are just
so many new developments that I am
trying to figure out.
She ignores him. He leans in closer and gives her a kiss on
the cheek. She doesn’t fight it nor does she embrace it.
DR. LOOMIS
I know I haven’t been myself the
past few weeks.
AMY LOOMIS
Weeks? Are you kidding me,
Sam? Its been almost a year. Ever
since you got that case. You don’t
give a shit about me, and you don’t
give a shit about your
daughter. Why don’t you just go
live up there with him? Maybe he
wants you as his Dad, since he
killed the last one.
Amy gets up from the bed and grabs her pillow.

Sam.
Amy storms out of the room. Dr. Loomis stares at the door.

INT. LOOMIS RESIDENCE/KITCHEN- MORNING

Dr. Loomis walks into the kitchen, Maggie runs towards him
giving him a huge hug.
MAGGIE LOOMIS
Hey, Daddy! Good morning.
DR. LOOMIS
Morning sweetheart.
Dr. Loomis grabs a cup of coffee and the newspaper; he has a
seat at the table.
Amy walks into the kitchen with her bathrobe on and
glasses. She doesn’t acknowledge her husband.
MAGGIE LOOMIS
Daddy, do you think you could take
me to the park today?
Maggie jumps into her Dad’s lap crumbling the paper.
DR. LOOMIS
I’d love to honey, but I’ve got to

Maggie frowns.
MAGGIE LOOMIS

AMY LOOMIS
Your Dad is too busy for us today,
I’ll take you to the park.
Maggie’s eyes fill up with tears and she runs out of the
kitchen.
DR. LOOMIS
What was the point of that, Amy?
AMY LOOMIS
What?
Amy slams around the pots and pans and she begins to prepare
breakfast.
DR. LOOMIS
You know exactly what I am talking
about?
AMY LOOMIS
No, no I don’t. I am tired of you
getting her hopes up. Every time
you break her heart with false
promises...
Amy hides back tears.
AMY LOOMIS (CONTD)
I HAVE TO PICK UP THE PIECES.
Dr. Loomis throws the paper to the table.
DR. LOOMIS

Dr. Loomis picks up the phone.
DR. LOOMIS
Yes, I am Dr. Sam Loomis calling
from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium. I
wanted to inquire about a possible
adoption case. Yes I can hold.
Dr. Loomis taps his pen on the his desk impatiently.
DR. LOOMIS
Yes. I am calling about an
adoption case. No. I am actually
looking for some information on a
possible adoption case from last
year. No, I am not sure. I am a
doctor. Okay, well is there any
information I can
get? Alright...thanks anyway.
Dr. Loomis hangs the phone up. He stares at the baby from
the picture.
DR. LOOMIS

INT. LOOMIS RESIDENCE/KITCHEN- NIGHT
Dr. Loomis walks into the kitchen holding his briefcase. He
sets the briefcase down and turns on the light into the

DR. LOOMIS

Very well.
Amy sits there, not sure what to say. She finally looks up
at Dr. Loomis.
AMY LOOMIS
I’m leaving you.
Dr. Loomis sinks down into a chair.
AMY LOOMIS
I’ve had enough. I can’t do this
anymore.
DR. LOOMIS
I can change.
AMY LOOMIS
No, no you can’t. You have always
been a man who puts his all into

have realized that we are not your
priority right now.
DR. LOOMIS
Amy...
AMY LOOMIS
No, Samuel listen. You need to

This is bullshit!
AMY LOOMIS
You left me no choice, Sam.
Dr. Loomis begins to pace.
DR. LOOMIS
You are taking my daughter away

AMY LOOMIS
You did that yourself. Now Michael
can have your undivided
attention. He’s the son you never
had.
DR. LOOMIS
Don’t play that game with me. You
know I love my daughter.
AMY LOOMIS
Then you will make time for her,
won’t you?
Amy takes a sip of her drink.
AMY LOOMIS
It’s already a done deal. We leave

Dr. Loomis stands there quietly. After a few moments he

DR. LOOMIS

MAGGIE LOOMIS

Maggie cries.
MAGGIE LOOMIS

Dr. Loomis fights back his own tears as his daughter wraps
her arms around his neck.
DR. LOOMIS

He kisses her on her neck.
DR. LOOMIS (CONTD)
Be good.
Dr. Loomis motions Amy to take her daughter. She prys her

DR. LOOMIS

Amy nods, fighting back her own tears. Dr. Loomis puts his
hat on and turns around, not wanting to see his daughter cry

Dr. Loomis points to the door. Dr. Wynn stands there for a

walks out the door.
Dr. Loomis digs through is drawer. He pulls out a picture

Judge Reimers continues reading through her notes.
JUDGE REIMERS
I understand the suggestion from
the Smith’s Grove Sanitarium is for
the patient, Michael Audrey Myers,

suggested he is not fit to stand

She looks up and waits for a rebuttal.
JUDGE REIMERS
With accordance of Illinois state

She clasps her hands together.
JUDGE REIMERS

Dr. Loomis smiles.
DR. LOOMIS

He laughs, more to himself, knowing Michael won’t respond.
DR. LOOMIS
You know, Michael, I was watching

you. I saw a mime. Well, I guess
you probably don’t know what that
is, do you.
He begins talking with his hands.
DR. LOOMIS
Its basically a person dressed up
in white face paint. Some people
claim the white face paint allows
them to keep their emotions inside
easier. Kind of a uhh cover of
what’s really going on
inside. They don’t speak, only
conveying their emotions through
actions.
Dr. Loomis smiles.
DR. LOOMIS
So there are a few

He waits, almost expecting a response from Michael.
DR. LOOMIS

Dr. Loomis gets up, grabs his paperwork and walks towards

He pauses, thinking of what to say, decides against it and
just pats him on his shoulder.

Tyson takes the half eaten plate off of Michael’s

TYSON RANDLE
Shit, he’s the easiest one of

Jack grabs the new plate and slams it down onto the desk,
knocking some of the food off the plate.
JACK WALKER
I like it when they

Tyson laughs.

JACK WALKER
I’m not following?
TYSON RANDLE
They’ve got some Haddonfield
residents who cannot get over what
he did. They decide to come over
here and mess up the outside of the
place. With tomorrow being
Halloween, hopefully that’ll be the
last time we have to deal with it.
JACK WALKER
Ah.
TYSON RANDLE
Probably a bunch of punk ass kids
like yourself.
Tyson playfully punches Jack who gets into a fighter’s
chance.
JACK WALKER
You really don’t want to mess with
me. There’s only a few other
people here tonight to pull me off

Tyson laughs again.
TYSON RANDLE
Whatever, lets get out of here.
Tyson walks towards Michael and stands behind him.
TYSON RANDLE
I’m going to miss you, buddy.

LANCE
You give me this and I’ll take you
there, no problem.
He stares at the license in the wallet.
LANCE
We have a deal, uh... Tyson? Tyson
Randle?
The man points towards the way of Haddonfield.
LANCE
Alright Mr. Randle, just sit back
and enjoy the ride.
He hands the wallet back to the man.

EXT. SMITH’S GROVE SANITARIUM-EARLY MORNING

talking.
Dr. Loomis gets out of his car quickly, not even bothering

DR. LOOMIS
What happened?
He gets no response so continues down the line.
DR. LOOMIS
What the hell happened?
Dr. Loomis finally spots Dr. Wynn standing with a couple of
detectives.
DR. LOOMIS
Terrence.
Dr. Loomis rushes towards his colleague.
DR. LOOMIS
What happened?
Dr. Wynn sees Dr. Loomis.
DR. WYNN
He got out, Sam.
Dr. Loomis stops dead in his tracks.
DR. LOOMIS
Who?
He already knows the answer.
DR. WYNN
Michael.
Dr. Loomis looks around the scene. There are ambulances,
squad cars, and empoyees strewn throughout.
DR. LOOMIS
(To himself)
The evil is out.

Dr. Wynn points at Dr. Loomis.
DR. WYNN
None of that right now.
DR. LOOMIS
Oh, quit with this crap, you and I
both know where he is going.
DR. WYNN
You have no idea where he is going.
DR. LOOMIS
You can play dumb all you want, but
that is EXACTLY where he is going.
DR. WYNN
Really, how do you expect him to
get there. There’s only one way
there... and that highway is being
scouted by the state troopers
extensively.
DR. LOOMIS
Well, have you alerted Haddonfield?
Dr. Wynn shakes his head.
DR. WYNN
No. Do you realize that if word
gets out about this, how crazy that
town will go? It will be mad. We
are trying to keep this under
wraps.
DR. LOOMIS
If you don’t alert somebody,
there’s going to be a blood
bath. Do you realize what today
is?
DR. WYNN
That doesn’t matter.
Dr. Loomis smiles a evil smile.
DR. LOOMIS
It’s his anniversary.
Dr. Loomis grabs his jacket.

DR. WYNN

it, this is not your problem.
DR. LOOMIS
Oh, but it is. Its mine, yours,
this whole entire state’s
problem. I will not have it be
that town’s problem again.
DR. WYNN
Loomis.
Dr. Loomis is already out the door.

INT. REID’S GENERAL STORE-EARLY MORNING

The alarm sounds as the backdoor is pulled open and the
bottom half of a man in coveralls walks towards the
aisles. He stops at the costume aisle and begins pushing
through them.
He picks up a clown mask and turns it, as if he is examining
it. He suddenly drops it and grabs ahold of a plain white
mask, with dark hair. He examines it and places it on his
head.
He walks towards the kitchen aisle. He grabs a box and rips
it open, pulling out the biggest knife inside.
The Shape slowly walks back towards the door he came in.

INT. STRODE RESIDENCE/LAURIE’S ROOM-EARLY MORNING

LAURIE STRODE, 17, takes a look into the mirror. Her dirty
blonde hair is done up in a "Prom" style. She is also
wearing a flowing white dress.
The small mole above her lip is focused on for a few
moments.
She bobs her head to Monster Mash which is playing on the
radio.
LAURIE STRODE
(Singing)
He did the mash. He did the
monster mash. The monster mash...
it was a graveyard smash.
TINA STRODE, 45, walks into the room after a slight
knock. She is still in her gown and is holding a coffee
cup. Her hair is dark black, and she bears no resemblence
to her daughter.
Laurie sees her mother in the mirror and turns around.
LAURIE STRODE
(Singing)
The monster mash.
She grabs ahold of her mother’s free hand and begins dancing
with her.
LAURIE STRODE (CONTD)
(Singing)
OOOOOOOOO.
TINA STRODE
Laurie.
Tina fights off a laugh as she pulls away from her daughter.
TINA STRODE (CONTD)
You are going to make me spill my
coffee.
Laurie cackles loudly. Her beauty is astounding as she
smiles with small dimples.
LAURIE STRODE
Come on Mom. Its Halloween!
Laurie turns the music down as the song ends.

She spins around smiling.
TINA STRODE
Could be worse.
LAURIE STRODE
What?
There is a small pause as Tina sips her coffee.
TINA STRODE
Well, atleast you are dressed
pretty.
LAURIE STRODE
What’s that supposed to mean?
Laurie turns her back.
TINA STRODE
Well, you usually aren’t the girly
girl. The dress...
Laurie turns back around, she now has fake blood all over
the dress and down her mouth. Tina stops her statement.
TINA STRODE
My point exactly.
Laurie smiles with big vampire fangs.
LAURIE STRODE
(Struggling to talk)
Don’t you think I’m pretty.
Laurie starts walking towards her mother.
TINA STRODE
You are the prettiest dead girl
vampire thing I have ever seen.
Laurie smiles again.

Laurie grabs her mother by the shoulder.
LAURIE STRODE
I only drink blood!
She pretends to go after her mother’s neck.
TINA STRODE
Oh Laurie, get off of me.
Laurie chases her mother out of the room.

INT. STRODE RESIDENCE/KITCHEN- EARLY MORNING

DREW STRODE, 48, cracks eggs into a pan. They sizzle and
pop loudly. He begins to butter toast.
Tina is heard screaming as she runs into the kitchen, with
Laurie not far behind.
DREW STRODE
Hey, woah, hey... what’s going on?
Tina hides behind her husband.
TINA STRODE
She’s trying to suck my blood.
Laurie walks into the kitchen slowly.
LAURIE STRODE
I’m here for your wife.
Drew steps out from in front of Tina.
DREW STRODE
Take her, I don’t need her.
Tina slaps Drew on the shoulder.

DREW STRODE

Laurie pulls out the teeth.
LAURIE STRODE

Laurie takes a seat at the table. She grabs the newspaper.
LAURIE STRODE
Really?
Drew turns around with the buttery toast and hands it to
Laurie.
She takes a bite.
DREW STRODE
What?
She continues chewing and then washes it down with orange
juice.
LAURIE STRODE
They are still writing about those
murders. I mean seriously, what
was that... 15 years ago?
Drew and Tina glance at each other.
DREW STRODE
Not sure honey. OH... speaking of
that, are you walking to school
today?
Laurie drops the newspaper.
LAURIE STRODE
Yeah, Annie went into school
early. She has to tutor.
DREW STRODE
Do you mind dropping off some paper
work at the Myers’ house.

TINA STRODE
I’m not doing anything today, I can

LAURIE STRODE
Not a big deal, I walk right by
it. It’s not like the house is
going to eat me or anything.
DREW STRODE
Thanks.
Tina shakes her head at Drew and walks out of the kitchen.

EXT. STRODE HOUSE-EARLY MORNING

Laurie steps out of her house and walks down the steps. She
is holding the information in her hand and has a backpack on
her shoulders.
DREW STRODE
Bye, have a great day.
Laurie turns around.
LAURIE STRODE
Thanks, you too Dad.

EXT. NEAR MYERS’ HOUSE-EARLY MORNING

Laurie continues down the sidewalk towards the Myers’
house.
TOMMY DOYLE
Laurie!
Laurie turns around to see TOMMY DOYLE, 8, running down the
sidewalk. He is dressed in a werewolf costume that is
pretty extravagant.
LAURIE STRODE
What’s up Tommy?
Tommy finally catches up and begins walking.

Tommy looks at her funny.
TOMMY DOYLE
Well, where are your teeth?
Laurie slaps her backpack.
LAURIE STRODE
In here, they are kind of annoying.
Tommy growls at her.
TOMMY DOYLE
Werewolves and vampires don’t like
each other.
He grabs her arm and bites her softly. She pulls away.
LAURIE STRODE
Tommy!
She laughs.
LAURIE STRODE
You better watch yourself.
Tommy begins to spit.
TOMMY DOYLE
Ugh... you taste like a girl.
Laurie slaps him on his head playfully.
LAURIE STRODE
Well, duh... that’s because I am a
girl.
She stops and looks up at the Myers house. Its gate now
swings open freely because of broken hinges and the porch
has shifted slightly. The paint on the house has turned an
almost yellow color.
TOMMY DOYLE
What are you doing?
Laurie walks towards the house.

TOMMY DOYLE

shouldn’t go up there.
Laurie continues walking towards it.
LAURIE STRODE
Oh, but I am.
Laurie stops at the door and looks inside through the
window. She doesn’t see anything.
TOMMY DOYLE
You see anything?
LAURIE STRODE
Why don’t you come look for
yourself?
TOMMY DOYLE
Oh, no no no.
LAURIE STRODE
You are no werewolf, you are a
little puppy dog.

INT. MYERS HOUSE-EARLY MORNING

Heavy breathing begins as a man’s shoulder is shown. He
stares towards Laurie. As Papers fall through the mail
slot; He steps closer towards the window.
Laurie turns slightly exposing her face to the man, she is
unaware he is watching.
The man’s fist clenches and his breathing strengthens.

EXT. HADDONFIELD HIGH SCHOOL/SCHOOLYARD-MID-MORNING

Laurie walks up towards the entrance of the school. She
looks around at all the goblins, ghouls, and famous dead
people the students have dressed as.
She gives a few smiles to people who have noticed her
presence. The boys of Haddonfield High give her an extra
stare.

Aren’t we jumpy today.
LAURIE STRODE
You scared the crap out of me.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Its shit Laurie... shit.
The two girls exchange smiles.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Wow.
Annie grabs Laurie by the hand and spins her around.
ANNIE BRACKETT
You look great, Laurie.
LAURIE STRODE
Thanks, Annie. You look good too.
ANNIE BRACKETT
I’m serious, why the hell you don’t
dress up is beyond me. And look at
that, you have makeup on too. Have
you turned a new leaf?
Laurie puts her head down, visibily embarrassed.
LAURIE STRODE
Shut up.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Geez, you seriously cannot take
comments.
Laurie puts her head down farther.
ANNIE BRACKETT (CONTD)

Now, there’s the Annie I know and

The bell rings. Annie and Laurie walk towards the entrance
with arms around each other.
The Shape’s shoulder comes into view as he watches the girls
enter the school from a distance.

EXT. SMITH’S GROVE SANITARIUM/FRONT ENTRANCE-DAY

News crews are scattered along the front entrance of the
sanitarium. There is a podium situated on the front steps
of the sanitarium.
Dr. Wynn steps up to the podium, he stares down at a piece
of paper.
DR. WYNN
As many of you have heard, there
was a breach of security late last
night and into early this
morning. At the moment the details
are sketchy. We have confirmed
that two people have been killed.
STACY FERGUSON, 26, listens to the statement with her news
crew. She quickily butts in.
STACY FERGUSON
Who are they?
DR. WYNN
At the moment, we cannot release
the names. The family is still be
contacted and the details are still
not known.
STACY FERGUSON
Well, did anyone escape?
DR. WYNN
I’m sorry, but what I told you is
all we can comment on at the
time. We will keep in touch.
Dr. Wynn walks off the podium quickly as media screams more
questions at him.

He walks with another member of the staff towards the

entrance.
DR. WYNN
This is going to become a damn
media frenzy. Once they find out,
this whole state is going to go
crazy. The whole Halloween just
makes this even worse.
STAFF MEMBER
We are working to try and find him.
DR. WYNN
He’s one damn man. He hasn’t moved
in years, he cannot be that hard to
find for God’s sake. And then
we’ve got his nut psychologist
running around loose, and he might
cause more harm than Michael. This
day really can’t get any worse.
STAFF MEMBER
What do you want me to do about
Loomis?
DR. WYNN
Find him, find both of
them. Whatever you do, do not
alert the local police, keep it
statewide. They seem to be the
only people capable of keeping this
underwraps.
STAFF MEMBER
Yes sir.
DR. WYNN
And gets these damn people off the
property. We have enough to deal
with without Stacy Ferguson and her
dimwit questions.
STAFF MEMBER
On it.

INT. HADDONFIELD SHERIFF’S STATION- MID MORNING

Dr. Loomis walks into the sheriff’s headquarters. He makes
his way to the front desk.

DR. LOOMIS

The receptionist puts her finger up for him to hold. She
continues on the phone.
DR. LOOMIS
Maam, I really need to talk to the
sheriff.
The receptionist puts her hand over the speaker of the
phone.
RECEPTIONIST
Look, I am busy right now. Can you
please hold on?
Dr. Loomis motions for her to continue her phone call. She
rolls her eyes.
RECEPTIONIST
So Robby really said that. Oh my,
tonight is going to be so much fun.
She starts twirling her hair.
RECEPTIONIST (CONTD)
I don’t get off until 8 tonight and
then I’m going to get into costume
and go right out there.
Dr. Loomis, fed up with this, reaches over the desk and hits
the "hangup" button on the phone.
DR. LOOMIS
Point me to the sheriff, now.
The receptionist leans back, almost afraid of Dr. Loomis at
this point. She slaps her hands together.
RECEPTIONIST
Look sir, he is not in here right
now. He is out, doing his
job. Now can you please leave me
alone and let me do my job.
Dr. Loomis turns his back on her in disgust.
He runs right into SHERIFF BRACKETT, 47. His dark hair is
in a mess and he looks very tired.
Dr. Loomis looks down at his badge.

DR. LOOMIS
Doctor Sam Loomis
They quickly shake hands.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
What can I do for you, Dr. Loomis?
DR. LOOMIS
Do you have an office we can talk
in?
The sheriff escorts Dr. Loomis towards his office.

INT. HADDONFIELD SHERIFF’S STATION/SHERIFF BRACKETT’S

OFFICE- MID MORNING
Sheriff Brackett sits down at his desk and pours him a cup
of coffee.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Would you like a cup?
DR. LOOMIS
No, I am fine.
Sheriff Brackett takes a sip and leans back into his
chair. He sighs in relief.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
So, what is this you need to talk
about?
DR. LOOMIS
Late last night, a patient by the
name of Michael Myers escaped
Smith’s Grove Sanitarium. I have
reason to believe that he might be
here in Haddonfield.
Sheriff Brackett leans forward in his seat. He stares at
Dr. Loomis for a few moments.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Is this a joke?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 64.

DR. LOOMIS
Absolutely not.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Forgive me, Doctor Loomis, but I
have had this same thing told to me
today about four times.
DR. LOOMIS
You dont...
SHERIFF BRACKETT
No wait, let me finish. I have
been told that four times today,
and about five times yesterday. So
forgive me if I am not entirely
convinced.
DR. LOOMIS
I am his Doctor, you can check my
credentials.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Look, I can appreciate a good joke,
but this is not the right time or
place.
DR. LOOMIS
Listen, sheriff he is here!
Dr. Loomis reaches into his jacket pocket. Sheriff Brackett
watches him carefully. Dr. Loomis pulls out a Smithsgrove
Sanitarium ID badge from his jacket.
He hands the ID to Leigh, who examines it.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Okay, I’ll bite. What makes you
believe he’ll come here and what
does he want?
DR. LOOMIS
I have no idea at this point.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Lets just say you are right, I
can’t exactly put the town on
lockdown. You see, its taken years
for this town to get over the
previous events.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 65.

DR. LOOMIS
I agree, but you need to realize
that there is a chance that Michael
Myers is here. If you don’t do
anything about it, then there is
going to be a lot of blood shed.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Well, why haven’t I been alerted
before this?
DR. LOOMIS
For the exact reasons that you
explained. They don’t want to make
this a huge deal. Smith’s Grove
and state of Illinois is sitting
pretty close to the chest with this
one.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Let me guess, you are not supposed
to be talking to me right now.
DR. LOOMIS
Precisely.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Okay, I will put my people on
alert. But you have to promise me
that you will either leave this
town or lay low. I can’t have
people going crazy tonight. We
have already had our fair share of
pranks and its not even lunch yet.
DR. LOOMIS
Pranks?
SHERIFF BRACKETT
You know the usual. Kids breaking
into the local costume shop and
stealing knives and masks. You
know the crap that drives me mad.
Dr. Loomis falls into a deep trance like state.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Doctor?
DR. LOOMIS
Ah, yes, I am sorry. No I will lay
low, but you need to understand
what we are dealing with.

SHERIFF BRACKETT

Dr. Loomis thinks of the right words to say.

INT. HADDONFIELD HIGH SCHOOL/BATHROOM-AFTERNOON

Laurie washes her hands and stares at herself in the
mirror. She shows her vampire teeth and then grabs a paper
towel. She wipes her hands and around her mouth, careful
not to smear her makeup and blood.
She gives one final look in the mirror and walks out of the
bathroom.

INT. HADDONFIELD HIGH SCHOOL/HALLWAY-AFTERNOON

Laurie walks down the hallway back towards her
classroom. The hallway is long and empty.
The Shape steps into view at the end of the hallway behind
Laurie. Laurie whistles "Monster Mash" to herself. She
immediately stops in her tracks.
She turns around. Standing at the end of the hallway is The
Shape. He stares at her breathing heavily, knife in hand.
LAURIE STRODE
Nice, costume dude.
Laurie turns back around and begins walking again towards
her class.
She turns back around and The Shape has begun to move closer
to her. Laurie, sensing danger, turns and begins walking
faster towards her classroom.
The Shape picks his pace up.
Laurie turns around, seeing The Shape closing in. She
begins walking backwards as The Shape closes in.
LAURIE STRODE
Stop, you are really scaring me.
The Shape continues his chase. Laurie turns to run as the
bell rings.
Students begin filing through the doors, more than any other
Friday. Students in costumes fill the hallway, and the
onslaught of noise begins.

scream.
LYNDA SOLES
Happy Halloween.
Laurie continues looking for her chaser.
LAURIE STRODE
Same to you.
LYNDA SOLES
Who you looking for?
LAURIE STRODE
I’m not sure. Somebody was chasing

LYNDA SOLES
Uh oh, sounds like you got a fan.
LAURIE STRODE
I don’t think so.
Lynda double takes as she looks Laurie down.
LYNDA SOLES
Laurie, you look utterly fantastic

LAURIE STRODE
So I have been told.
LYNDA SOLES
I’ve never seen you dressed up.
LAURIE STRODE
So I have been told. What’s with

LYNDA SOLES
Me and Bob were out way too late

LAURIE STRODE
What happened?
LYNDA SOLES
Principal Hill thought it would be
bad taste.
LAURIE STRODE
Nice.
Annie shouts from down the hall.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Lets go, the bell rang already.
Annie walks up to them.
ANNIE BRACKETT

Where’s your stuff?
Laurie points towards her class.
LAURIE STRODE
It’s still in class.
Annie looks at Lynda, confused.
LYNDA SOLES
She had someone chasing her
earlier, so I guess she forgot it.
ANNA BRACKETT
What?
Laurie looks down the hall, which has now cleared out.
LAURIE STRODE
Yeah, he was pretty creepy. He was

ANNIE BRACKETT
Yeah, he has the hots for you. He

Laurie smiles embarrassed.
LAURIE STRODE
I don’t have time for a boyfriend.
LYNDA SOLES
We aren’t talking about him being
your boyfriend.
Laurie looks at the two girls who are holding their laughter

LAURIE STRODE
Ewww.
Annie and Lynda start laughing. Laurie is grossed out.
LAURIE STRODE
You guys are nasty.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Hey, don’t look at me.
Annie points at Lynda. Lynda punches her in the arm.
LYNDA SOLES
Whatever.

The three girls turn towards their principal. PRINCIPAL

already gone, he’s probably drunk

Laurie walks towards her class.

INT. HADDONFIELD HIGH SCHOOL/CLASSROOM-AFTERNOON

Laurie walks into the classroom. She walks towards her
desk, by the window, and grabs her bag.
Looking out the window, she sees The Shape staring at her

continues staring at him.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Laurie?
Laurie jumps slightly and turns towards Annie.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Are you coming?
Laurie looks back toward the window, The Shape is gone.
LAURIE STRODE
Yeah.
Laurie grabs her stuff and rushes out of the room.

INT. ANNIE’S CAR-AFTERNOON

costume.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Yeah, he had a creepy white mask

LAURIE STRODE
I guess.
Laurie leans her head against the window and looks out of
it.
LAURIE STRODE
You know, he was still staring at

ANNIE BRACKETT
Well, yeah he has the hots for you.
Lynda leans towards the front.
LYNDA SOLES
Yeah, he wants to give you a big
fat kiss.
Lynda pulls Laurie towards her and kisses her on the cheek.
LAURIE STRODE
Ugh...
Laurie wipes it off her cheek.
ANNIE BRACKETT

Annie pulls over to the side. Sheriff Brackett is standing

this morning.
Annie turns back toward his dad.
ANNIE BRACKETT
Mr. Reid is a weird little man.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
That... he is. What are you doing
tonight?
ANNIE BRACKETT
I’m trying to get out of
babysitting for the Wallace’s.
Sheriff Brackett gives Annie the "father" look.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
You owe it to them. Mr. and Mrs
Wallace have been really good to
us.
ANNIE BRACKETT
I know Dad, but I really want to go
out tonight. I mean it is
Halloween.
Sheriff Brackett looks off into the distance.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Well, truthfully, I don’t want you
out there tonight. There are a lot
of nuts on the loose, especially on
a night like this.
LYNDA SOLES

Your daughter is more a nut than
anyone else in Haddonfield.

SHERIFF BRACKETT
Well, then its settled. How are
your folks doing, Laurie?
LAURIE STRODE
They are as good as ever.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Well, that’s great. You girls be

Annie.
ANNIE BRACKETT
I love you Dad.
The girls giggle as she rolls up the window.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

INT. STRODES RESIDENCE/KITCHEN-NIGHT

Laurie is dressed in her normal wear. She has a long-sleeve
t-shirt and red cotton pants on. She is wearing glasses and
has a tinge of makeup still on. Her blonde hair is flowing
to both sides of her face.
She sits at the kitchen table in front of a huge
pumpkin. Her mother is standing up. Tina is dressed in a
scarecrow outfit, with straw coming out everywhere.
TINA STRODE
I swear, your father is more of the
woman that I am. Seriously, how
long does it take to get ready?

LAURIE STRODE
I guess I took after him huh?
Tina laughs.
TINA STRODE
Trust me, I’m glad you
aren’t. It’s bad enough with one.
DREW STRODE
Never fear...Superman is here.
Drew Strode walks in dressed as Superman. He is completely
decked out in all the super hero garb.
LAURIE STRODE
Oh, nice abs Dad.
He slaps his fake stomach.
DREW STRODE
Yes, it takes a lot of work to get
these babies.
LAURIE STRODE
A very nice couple, superman and
scarecrow woman.
Her parents hug each other.
TINA STRODE
What time is Annie picking you up?
LAURIE STRODE
Any time now. The Doyle’s and
Wallace’s are going to the same
party you guys are.
DREW STRODE
Ah yes I remember them saying
something about that. Now you
remember, the cuckoos come out on
Halloween.
LAURIE STRODE
I know, Mr. Brackett already had
the talk.
DREW STRODE
And that’s why we have been friends
for so long.

LAURIE STRODE
Relax guys, its harmless
babysitting. What could
happen? You think Tommy is going
to attack me.
TINA STRODE
It’s just this time of year.
LAURIE STRODE
I’ll be fine, you guys better not
worry about me.
A honk is heard from outside.
LAURIE STRODE
That’s got to be Annie.
Laurie gets up and grabs the big pumpkin. She huffs as she
picks it up.
LAURIE STRODE
Can you get the door, Dad?
DREW STRODE
Sure thing.
He opens the door.
DREW STRODE
You have fun and like I said...
LAURIE STRODE
I know.. don’t talk to strangers,
keep the doors locked, make sure to
have the pepper spray you gave me.
DREW STRODE
That’s my girl.
Drew watches as his daughter walks towards the car.

EXT. STRODES RESIDENCE/BACK GATE-NIGHT

The Shape watches as Laurie makes her way into the car. He
then turns his attention to the Strode’s house as the door
shuts.
76.

EXT. MYERS HOUSE/FRONT-NIGHT

Sheriff Brackett’s squad car pulls up the Myers’ house. He
steps out and walks towards the gate. The gate swings open
on a broken hinge making a high pierce shrieking noise.
Sheriff Brackett shines his flashlight throughout the
house. He notices movement near the porch.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Who’s there?
Sheriff Brackett pulls his gun out. He slowly walks towards
the house.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
I’m warning you, you better come
out right now.
Sheriff Brackett shines the flashlight into an overgrown
bush on the outside of the porch. Something moves inside
the bush once more.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Alright, come out now.
Sheriff Brackett shines the flashlight into the bush, he
slowly leans forward.
Footsteps creak the porch, Sheriff Brackett swings around
points the gun at the sound.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
God damnit Loomis.
Dr. Loomis stands on the porch.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
You trying to get yourself shot?
DR. LOOMIS
I need to show you something.
Sheriff Brackett puts his gun back into his holster.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
What?
Dr. Loomis motions for him to follow.
77.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/DOWNSTAIRS-NIGHT

The two walk into the Myers house. The wallpaper has mostly
been ripped from the wall. Vandals have tagged the place
with things such as "Murderer" and "Freak."
SHERIFF BRACKETT
I forgot how bad this place
was. And to think, my friend Drew
is trying to sell this place.
They continue towards the stairs.

INT. MYERS HOUSE/JUDITH’S ROOM-NIGHT

They walk into Judith’s room.
DR. LOOMIS
This is where it happened.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
I know the story. I was one of the
first people on the scene. I was
fresh out of the academy. I
actually saw him standing over his
baby si...
Sheriff Brackett trails off.
DR. LOOMIS
I already know about the other
sister. I have known about that
for a while now.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
That wasn’t supposed to get out.
DR. LOOMIS
Well it did.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Alright, Loomis... what do you have
me up here for? I have a town to
protect.
DR. LOOMIS
I think he’s been here.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
What makes you so sure?

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 78.

DR. LOOMIS
I was his doctor for more than a
decade. I sat with him for hours
up on hours, picking at his
brain. After a few years I
realized what human part he once
had, had died with his sister that
night. He’s come back to your
town, and we need to find someway
to stop him.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Call me crazy, but I think you are
trying to send us out on a wild
goose chase. I called up Smith’s
Grove earlier today, and I was told
that there was nothing to worry
about.
DR. LOOMIS
Don’t you get it, they screwed
up. They are doing what they can
to cover their ass. Michael Myers
is here.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Wow, settle down Doctor. Look, on
the small chance he is here, I have
put my authorities on alert. If
anything goes down, we will deal
with it. Your obsession with this
murder is astounding.
DR. LOOMIS
Obsession.
Dr. Loomis smiles.
DR. LOOMIS (CONTD)
You said so yourself, you saw him
standing over his baby
sister. What 8 year old do you
know that would do what he
did? Maybe I am a little obsessed,
not with him, but with keeping him
from hurting anyone else.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Look, until I see proof that he is
here, its just a story. When I
called Smith’s Grove earlier, they
also told me you would come out
here spilling your crap.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 79.

DR. LOOMIS
Dr. Wynn I suppose. He is so busy
looking out for himself.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Look, I don’t know who to
believe. I have done what I can,
we are at full force tonight. If
you want to sit up here and wait
for him, you are welcome to do
it. I have a town to watch over.
DR. LOOMIS
I’d like to ride along.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Alright, but only because I don’t
want you spilling your nonsense to
someone around this town. There
are people here that after hearing
that name would go crazy, and
that’s definitely
counter-productive. If you ride
with me, you better keep your ass
in your seat and your mouth in
check. Do you got me?
DR. LOOMIS
Yes.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
Alright, lets get out of
here. This place still gives me
the creeps.

INT. STRODE RESIDENCE/KITCHEN-NIGHT

Drew opens the refrigerator and pulls out a beer. He pops
the tab and takes a long drink.
He hears the wind howl from the front door.
DREW STRODE
Tina?
Drew sets the beer down on the counter and walks towards the
front door.
The door, standing wide open, slams against the door stop

You left the door open, honey.
Drew walks towards the door. He slowly shuts it.
Drew turns around and meets The Shape face to face. They
stare each other in the eyes. The Shape lunges forward,
puts his hand around Drew’s throat, and slams him against
the door.
A knife pierces into Drew’s fake abs and into his abdomen.
Drew’s eyes and mouth widen. Blood begins to flow out of
Drew’s mouth.
The Shape pulls the knife out, and Drew’s lifeless body
drops to the ground.

INT. STRODE RESIDENCE/BEDROOM-NIGHT

Tina fixes the straw in her hair using the mirror. She
stops what she is doing, after hearing a small commotion
downstairs. The commotion stops, and she continues doing
her primping.

INT. STRODE RESIDENCE/LIVING ROOM-NIGHT

Tina makes her way downstairs. She walks towards the
kitchen, passing The Shape who is staring at her in the
shadows.
Tina stops in her tracks, she looks towards the mantle on
the fireplace. The pictures have all been ripped off the
mantle and are on the floor.
TINA STRODE
Drew?
The Shape steps out of the shadows, and Tina turns around.
Tina screams and runs towards the front door.
TINA STRODE
(screaming)
Help me.
Drew is leaned up against the door, blood covering his
"Superman" costume.

TINA STRODE

Drew!
Tina places her hands on her mouth. She quickily turns
around, and The Shape is closing in on her. She runs to the
front door and pushes Drew out of the way.
Drew’s body jams the front door, not allowing her to get
out. She slowly tries to squeeze out of the small space.

EXT. STRODE’S RESIDENCE/FRONT PORCH-NIGHT

Tina gets half of her body out of the door.
TINA STRODE
Somebody help me!
She struggles to get out of the door, she is almost entirely
out.
Before she can get completely out she is pulled right back
into the house. The door is slammed shut.

INT. STRODE’S RESIDENCE/FRONT ROOM-NIGHT

The Shape stands over Tina who is now holding her leg. She
is screaming.
TINA STRODE
What do you want?
The Shape stops and stares at her, tilting his head
slightly.
Tina lifts herself up slowly, using the couch. The Shape
slowly walks towards her.
Tina grabs a pillow from the couch and throws it towards The
Shape, hitting him in the face. The Shape continues
walking, completely unphased.
TINA STRODE
Leave me alone.
Tina makes her way over the couch and crawls towards the
fireplace. The Shape quickens his pace and grabs Tina. He
picks her up slowly against the wall, crushing his hand
around her throat.

She begins to gag and blood fills her eyes. The Shape
plunges his knife into her chest, and drops her to the
ground.
The Shape looks down at a picture of Laurie. He picks it up
and stares at it, as Tina watches.
The Shape breaks the picture frame, pulls the picture out
and crumbles it within his hand.
Tina, slowly losing her battle with death, coughs up blood.
TINA STRODE
No... not my Lau--
She coughs up more blood and becomes lifeless.

INT. STRODE’S RESIDENCE/KITCHEN-NIGHT

The Shape’s bloody hands are shown as he shuffles through a
few papers on the counter. He sees a paper on the
refrigerator.
It reads, The Doyles, 142 Winchester Drive, 309-229-5545

INT. DOYLE RESIDENCE/KITCHEN-NIGHT

Laurie sits at the kitchen table with a knife in her
hand. She is slowly carving the pumpkin.
Tommy Doyle runs out from the living room, still dressed as
the Wolfman. He howls loudly.
LAURIE STRODE
Settle down, wolfman. I think you
have eaten way too much candy.
TOMMY DOYLE
No, not enough candy.
He runs towards the kitchen table and grabs a piece of candy
out of his bucket.
LAURIE STRODE
Are you going to help me with this
or not?
He pops the candy into his mouth and jumps into the seat
next to Laurie.

TOMMY DOYLE
That’s boring.
LAURIE STRODE
Sorry.
The phone begins to ring.
LAURIE STRODE
Hold up.
She grabs the phone.
LAURIE STRODE
The Doyle residence, this is
Laurie.
There is heavy breathing.
LAURIE STRODE
Hello?
The breathing continues.
LAURIE STRODE
I can’t hear you, can you speak up?
The phone gets disconnected. Laurie, looking confused,
hangs up the phone.
LAURIE STRODE
Alright.
TOMMY DOYLE
Who was that?
LAURIE STRODE
Nobody. Maybe it was... the boogey
man!
Laurie runs towards Tommy.

Chill out, I’m just messing with
you.
Tommy remains quiet.
LAURIE STRODE
Alright, so back to the pumpkin?
Tommy shrugs his shoulders.
LAURIE STRODE
Don’t tell me you are really
scared? Seriously, Tommy, the
boogeyman is just a story.

INT. WALLACE RESIDENCE/LIVING ROOM-NIGHT

Annie sits on the couch, braiding LINDSEY WALLACE’S,9,

The Thing is playing on the television, but neither girl is
really watching it.
LINDSEY WALLACE
Annie, I’m really bored.

I feel the same.
LINDSEY WALLACE

ANNIE BRACKETT
Alright, well hold on.
Annie grabs the phone and dials.

INT. WALLACE RESIDENCE/KITCHEN-NIGHT

ANNIE BRACKETT

SHERIFF BRACKETT
Okay, look I’m not going to take

case. But, if nothing happens
tonight you’re going to have to go
back.
DR. LOOMIS
He will show himself tonight. I
know it. He hasn’t moved in years,
he’s kept it all bottled up waiting
for this night.
DANNY STEVENS, 24, busts into the office. Dr. Loomis jumps
back, almost expecting Michael Myers to walk right in.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
What the hell Daniel?
DANNY STEVENS
Sorry sir, I just got a dispatch

Dr. Loomis quickly glances at Sheriff Brackett.

Well, I’m not going to take the

Dr. Loomis smiles, a very uneasy smile.
DR. LOOMIS
There’s a chance he’s outside right

Sheriff Brackett thinks for a few moments.
SHERIFF BRACKETT
