KNITTED MEASUREMENTS

BODY

Bust 56"/142cm Length 36"/91.5cm Upper arm 14"/35.5cm


MATERIALS

7 1oz/50g balls (each approx 65yd/59m) of Trendsetter Yarns Natasha (acrylic/polyamide/ viscose/polyester) in #161 slick slate 6 1oz/50g balls (each approx 90yd/82m) of Trendsetter Yarns Dune (mohair/nylon/acrylic) in #99 ashes & dust 5 1oz/50g balls (each approx 110yd/101m) of Trendsetter Yarns Skye (polyamide) in #11 black Two size 9 (5.5mm) circular needles, 24"/60cm length OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE One size F-5 (3.75mm) crochet hook Stitch markers and stitch holder Scrap yarn 3 flower pins (available through Trendsetter Yarns)
GAUGE

With scrap yarn, cast on 85 sts. Work 2 rows in St st. Change to stripe pat and work in k5, p5 rib until piece measures 14"/35.5cm from beg. Place marker at edge of piece without garter st selvage. (Note Place all following markers at edge without garter st selvage). Work even until piece measures 14"/35.5cm from marker. Place second marker. Work even until piece measures 28"/71cm from second marker. Place third marker. Work even until piece measures 14"/35.5cm from third marker. Place fourth marker. Work even until piece measures 14"/35.5cm from fourth marker. Place sts on stitch holder or scrap yarn.
SLEEVES

picked-up row. Cont in stripe pat, work in garter st for 2"/5cm. Bind off. Rep for second sleeve, picking up and working sts between third and fourth markers.
FINISHING

Place sts from holder on needles. Pick up stitches from first row after scrap yarn. Remove scrap yarn. Using 3-needle bind-off technique, join sts of first and last row. Fold LH side of body along fold line as shown on LH side of schematic. Sew sleeve seam and sew edges A tog. Work in same way along RH side of body, sewing B edges tog.
Crochet border

18 sts and 22 rows = 4"/10cm over k5, p5 rib. TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTES

1) Coat is worked from side to side with sleeves picked up and worked along edge, then folded and seamed. 2" 2) Due to the nature of the ribbed pattern, the coat 10" will grow in length. The A given length measurement is pre-wearing.
STITCH GLOSSARY

With Natasha, pick up and knit 65 sts between first and second markers. Work sleeve in stripe pat as foll: Row 1 (WS) *P5, k5; rep from * to last 5 sts, p5. Row 2 (RS) *K5, p5; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5. Rep rows 1 and 2 for rib pat, AT SAME TIME, dec 1 st each side every 4th row twice, then every 6th row 7 times47 sts. Work even until sleeve measures 10"/25.5cm from

With Skye and crochet hook, work border around entire outside edge of body as foll: Rnd 1 Work sc evenly along edge. Rnd 2 Ch 5, *skip 2 sts, work (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next st, ch 3, skip 2 sts, work 1 sc in next st, ch 3; rep from * around, join with sl st, ch 6. Rnd 3 Rep rnd 2, working (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) into sc of previous rnd and 1 sc into top of ch-1 of previous rnd. Rep rnd 3 twice more. Fasten off. Using photo for reference, attach flower pins.
