The Prince’s heroics in Ubisoft’s acclaimed action adventure game Prince of Persia: The
Sands of Time caused a rift in the timeline and spawned a mythical beast known as the
Dahaka. Now years after the events of the previous game, the Dahaka pursues the Prince
relentlessly. The Prince’s last hope to change his fate is to travel back into the past and stop
the creation of the Sands of Time.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within extends the Prince’s adventure with an updated and
improved combat system, new enemies and characters, and expansive levels.

Chapter 1 - Combat Strategies
This section offers some combat strategies and tips for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within’s
enemies and boss encounters.

• The best weapon to use against nearly every enemy in the game isn’t a weapon you
hold in your right or left hand. Once you receive the Eye of the Storm power, you’ve
received an invaluable combat ally. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power to slow time
around the Prince while the Prince remains at normal speed. This is a major advantage
over enemies and extremely useful against multiple foes. Unleash various weapon
combinations (straight up primary and secondary weapon combos or acrobatic
combinations) and finish off enemies to restore sand; with more sand you can repeat
the process and continue to use Eye of the Storm throughout the battle.

• Acrobatic combos work well against standard enemies but are blocked by the more
agile foes (the acrobatic females in particular). Run at an enemy and press the action
button to initiate an acrobatic combination. The Prince vaults over the enemy and
prepares to strike; after the Prince launches over the enemy, press the attack and/or
secondary attack button to utilize your primary and secondary weapons in the
combination. Also, don’t forget to use your environment as part of your combat
techniques. Striking from a wall or spinning around a column can tear enemies to
shreds.

• Double-weapon techniques are extremely powerful. Some maneuvers shift into slow
motion as the Prince spins around and slices through multiple enemies with both
weapons. You should have a secondary weapon on hand most of the game. Look for
weapon racks to recover more unique secondary weapons (to fill out your inventory
list in the special features area of the game) or just pick up weapons discarded by slain
enemies.

• As you strike enemies with your secondary weapon, it begins to deteriorate. Check the
icon in the upper left corner of the screen. The weapon begins white and slowly turns
bright red; once the weapon begins to flash, it’s about broken entirely. Toss the
weapon aside and pick up another to start fresh. Try tossing the weapon at an enemy!
Tap the "pick up weapon button" while holding a secondary weapon to toss it at an
enemy. Often it’s a quick way to skewer a foe, regain a sand tank, and even score
another secondary weapon.

• There’s a challenging fight early in the game if you haven’t mastered the art of
blocking. While still on the Prince’s ship, you face off against the sultry Shadhee.
Instead of being the aggressor, become the defender. Hold the block button as
Shadhee unleashes her combinations. When she performs an uppercut maneuver,
release block and begin your counterattack.

• Another tough fight during the game is against the lumbering golem creatures. You’ll
face a few throughout the game. Fortunately, they all have the same weakness. Defeat
the giant golems by striking the back of the creature’s legs. Roll the Prince behind the
creature and repeatedly strike the golem’s legs with your weapon. If the golem
attempts to counter, roll around to avoid the swipes and resume the attack. After a
number of successful hits, the golem drops to the ground. Press the action button to

run up the golem’s back. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power while on the golem’s
back then strike the golem’s cranium repeatedly. The creature will attempt to swipe
you off. Watch the golem’s shoulders. When one drops, move in that direction to
avoid the grasp from the golem’s other hand. Continue the attack and repeat Eye of the
Storm as needed.

• Sand is a vital part of combat. You’ll need sand to invoke Eye of the Storm but you
may also need a tank full of sand in order to rewind time if you suffer significant
damage. If you make a combat error and suffer a big blow, rewind time to a point
before the mistake and readjust the attack accordingly. Since sand is vital, be prepared
at every step of the game and bust open every container you find to, hopefully,
uncover additional sand. Going into combat against multiple enemies with no sand
proves much more difficult.

• When fighting on bridges or near ledges, it’ll be a lot safer to simply throw enemies
off instead of attempting to utilize acrobatic combinations or wall strikes against them.
The Prince’s acrobatic moves could send him off the bridge or ledge instead and
you’ll have to use a sand tank to Recall time and return the Prince to solid ground. The
downside is you won’t be able to recover any sand from an enemy tossed to his or her
death.

Chapter 2 - Walk-through
This section provides a complete walk-through for Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The
walk-through contains combat tips for specific situations and enemies, locations of artwork
chests and life upgrades, and a proven path through the game.

Your adventure begins at sea. Shadhee, a loyal subordinate to the Empress of Time, attacks
the prince’s ship. This initial level serves as a tutorial. Follow the on-screen instructions as
you battle attackers and maneuver through the crumbling vessel. Attack, block attacks, and
execute combo maneuvers on the initial enemies.

After an explosion opens a new area, proceed through that position and automatically descend
into the ship’s bowels. Drink the water to replenish your health. Continue forward and battle
additional enemies with instructed combos. Use the pole in the room’s center as part of your
attack. Continue through the opposite side of the ship’s underbelly and automatically return to
the upper deck.

Combat more enemies. Test out the acrobatic attack combinations. Use block to preserve as
much health as possible because you have a tougher battle upcoming. Ascend the ramp on the
left to reach Shadhee’s position.

This can be a challenging fight if you attempt to go toe-to-toe with Shadhee. She unleashes
powerful combos and has a tendency to block many of your attacks. Instead of being the
aggressor, it’s better to play defensive and wait for an opportunity to counter-attack.

Hold the block button and let Shadhee unleash one of her combinations. Continue to block
until she performs an "uppercut" with her weaponry. This is the point to counter-attack. She
remains in the uppercut position long enough for you to counter with your own sword strikes.

Repeat this tactic throughout the battle. Hold block and allow Shadhee to attack. When she
launches her uppercut strike, start your own counter and combination assault. As you knock
Shadhee’s health down in quarters, you’ll reach a sort of "sword battle mini-game" where you
need to press attack as quickly as possible to gain the upper hand. Weaken Shadhee to just
one-fourth health to conclude the battle and reach the next section.

Wreckage

Objective: Reach the Fortress Entrance (Present)

Find a chest to the left side of the staircase. Break it open with a weapon strike to unlock
Prince of Persia artwork.

The prince has lost his sword but picks up a sturdy stick to use until he can find a
replacement. Smack the birds that attack with your new weapon. Wade into the pool on the
right side and drink the water to replenish health. Proceed down the beach toward the flames;
fend off more birds during the trip. Before ascending the stairs, look to the staircase’s left side
to find a chest. You’ll find these throughout the game; the chests unlock artwork in the
game’s special features section.

Climb the stairs and jump over the gap. Jump and pull up over the block ahead. Run and jump
over the next gap. Spot the fountain on the left ahead. The fountains replenish health and also
save your progress.

Hop up onto the rock just beyond the fountain. Traverse the ledge to the right. When you
reach the large rock, drop down and shimmy to the right below the rock. Pull up on the
opposite side. Leap over the next gap and combat the birds that arrive.

Pull up onto the ledge and traverse the narrow path toward the left (toward the flames in the
distance). When you reach the end, jump across the gap to the other ledge. Continue toward
the flame and jump up to the higher ledge when you’re underneath. Shimmy over to the wider
ground and pull yourself up.

Climb the stairs then run up the wall to pull yourself up. More birds attack along this path;
fight them off with your stick. Drop off the top of the stairs to the ledge below. Run along the
left wall to reach the far ledge.

Locate this artwork chest after jumping from column to column.

Walk to the columns ahead. You must jump from column to column to reach the higher ledge.
When jumping column to column, turn the prince’s back to face the column you wish to jump
toward. Once positioned correctly, simply press the jump button and the prince leaps to the
appropriate column. Reach the tallest column and ascend. Leap off to the upper ledge. At the
top, move to the right and find an artwork chest.

Move to the left and spot the hole in the wall on the right side. Roll through the hole. Battle
the enemies on the other side. Use acrobatic combination attacks. Cross the area to the ledge
and pull up. Run along the left wall to cross the next gap and reach the opposite side. Hop up
the ledges to the next gap. Run along the right wall. Press the jump button to rebound off of
the wall and onto the left ledge.

Bypass the closed gate by climbing over the wall.

Use acrobatic attacks to defeat the next squad of enemies. Ascend the steps through these
ruins and reach the closed gate. Hop up onto the ledge to the gate’s left. Run up the wall and
grab hold of the ledge above the gate. Pull up and drop on the other side. Walk into the next
courtyard to spot the fortress.

During the next cut scene, the prince encounters Shadhee once more (though the battle is
short-lived). Also, the prince gains a sword. You automatically pick up the spider sword; the
new weapon features a three-hit combo attack. You’re currently wielding two weapons,
though one is still the stick. Utilize some dual weapon combinations as you battle the enemies
that surround you. After the fight, dump the stick and pick up a better weapon to dual wield.

Return toward the closed gate and find an open path to the left. Drink from the fountain just
inside to mend wounds and save your game.

The Ruined Fortress

Leap over the gap--or run along the left wall--and encounter a second gap around the corner.
Jump the next gap. Approach the open area (grabbing a weapon from the rack if desired),
which triggers a cut scene. The local birds swoop in to combine and form another enemy.
You’ll face this adversary several times during the game. The best way to defeat him is to use
an acrobatic combo. Initiate with the action button against the enemy then press attack twice
(or use a secondary weapon). Repeat until he’s defeated--temporarily anyhow. He splits and
reforms on a different platform in the area.

If you’re unsure where to go next, look for the familiar enemy and proceed to that platform.

From where you entered the area from, turn right toward the wall (if you’re facing away from
the entrance). Run up the wall. At the top of the run, press jump to leap backward and grab
hold of the upper ledge. Run along the left wall and press jump to leap to the column. Jump
from column to column and land on the platform and face off against the enemy again. Use a
similar tactic as before: initiate with the action button to perform an acrobatic attack and
swipe with the primary or secondary weapons. When you defeat him, he moves yet again!

Look left when facing the area’s center. Run along the left wall and reach the ledge. On top of
this ledge, turn around the opposite direction. Run along the right wall and reach the narrow
ledge. Jump up to a ledge overhead and pull up. Jump backward to the column then again to
the platform and battle the same enemy again. Beat him with acrobatic combo maneuvers.

Run up the wall under the switch. Depressing the switch opens an adjacent gate (just to the
left). Scurry under the open gate into the next chamber.

There’s a curtain along the left wall. Run along the left wall and when you hit the curtain
you’ll automatically use it to safely slide down to the ground below. Defeat the room’s
enemies with primary and secondary weapon combos and acrobatic attacks. You can use the
room’s broken column for even more attacks. Look for a weapon rack in the room if you need
a new secondary weapon.

Run up the base of the column just adjacent to the smaller broken column (which you could
use to fight against) and grab hold of the ledge at the top. Shimmy around to the left and pull
up onto the walkway. Crush the enemy up here and maneuver to the back wall. Look to the
right. Run along the left wall and reach the ledge.

Shimmy around to the left so you circumvent the large hole in the floor. Shimmy all the way
to the back edge and drop down when you’re over solid flooring. Once you reach the next gap
in the floor, run along the right wall to land on the other side. Round the corner and move
through the pole traps (which have seen better days). Approach the shimmering wall of water
ahead.

The prince will use these time travel portals to move between the past and present.

This is your first visit to what’s essentially a time travel room. You’ll use these rooms to
travel between the past and present throughout the game. Save your game at the fountain.
Approach the end of the room to spot Shadhee using the room to travel into the past. You
automatically follow her.

Your trip into the past also rewards you with the power of Recall. You can now use your sand
tanks to rewind time in case you miss a jump, get skewered by a deadly trap, or suffer huge
damage at the hands of an enemy.

First Steps into the Past

Objective: Chase the Girl in Black (Past).

Exit the time travel chamber. You’re in the same location...just the past! And unfortunately
the traps worked back then. Navigate the pole trap by moving through when the poles spread
apart or walking on the right side when the poles are away from the wall.

Time your run along the wall to miss the spinning blades.

The blades now move up and down along the walls. Run along the right wall when the blade
moves down to reach the other side. Smack the enemy on the opposite side. Follow the hall to
the large entrance chamber you fought through earlier...it looks much better now.

Crush the present enemies with acrobatic combos. You can still use the small column in the
middle if desired. There’s also a weapon rack just to its right. Smash the boxes throughout the
room to find and recover a sand tank.

Climb the column on the left side of the room (from the entrance) to its peak. At the top, jump
to the thicker column and you’ll grab hold of the ledge. Pull up onto the walkway. Smash the
artwork chest.

Follow the walkway around a left corner. Run along the right wall and grab hold of the far
ledge. Pull up and traverse it around to the left. Jump toward the next walkway. Spot the
switch on the wall. Run along the wall and depress the switch automatically. You’ll reach the
curtain and descend. The opened door is right there just to the left. Run through.

Walk forward toward the hall ahead but turn left just before entering the hall. Run up the wall
and pull up. Run up the wall again and leap backward to reach the ledge behind you.

Locate an artwork chest in this alcove. It’s just to the left at the top of the staircase.

Run along the left wall and leap to the column. Hop down to the next walkway and crush the
enemies with an acrobatic combo assault. Approach the staircase. Look to the left of the
staircase and spot a few barrels blocking a switch on the floor. This floor switch opens a grate
at the top of the stairs. A life upgrade is found beyond the open grate. The problem is the
grate only stays open a few seconds and it’ll be extremely difficult to reach in time. Instead,
you’ll be back here later in the game with the ability to slow down time and can recover the
upgrade then. Search the left path at the top of the stairs to find an artwork chest.

Upon approaching the spiked pole traps, observe their movement and wait for an opportunity
to scurry by without suffering damage.

Return back down to the ground floor and go through the hall. Carefully navigate the pole
traps. Roll under the pole trap that moves up and down. Find a save fountain on the right side
just after the third pole trap.

Round the corner and spot the steps toward the fortress. Battle the black mist enemies. These
foes move around very quickly. Roll toward their location; don’t remain at long-range or
you’ll be struck by their ranged attacks. Once you’ve reached close-range, perform an
acrobatic combo to defeat the enemy. Snag a secondary weapon off the rack before
approaching.

Ascend the long staircase and battle more enemies at the top. You can return to the fountain to
replenish health if necessary. After completing the fight, roll under the spinning blade trap to
avoid suffering damage. Jump the gap to the ledges. Leap to the overhead ledge and shimmy
to the right to the next set. Drop down then hop to the next walkway.

The central hall serves as a hub for several of the game’s expansive levels.

Crush the enemy from behind and roll under two more spinning blades. Round the next left
corner and enter the impressive central hall. Defeat the enemies present (you can use acrobatic
combos or even toss them off the side of the walkway to their doom) then leap over the gap
on the opposite end of the room to find a save fountain.

The Fortress Rebuilt

Returning from the save fountain, leap up the ledges on the right side of the center walkway.
Climb to the top and face the columns. Jump from column to column to reach the opposite
ledges. Run up the wall to reach the higher ledge. Pull up. At the top, face toward the balcony
and run along the left wall. When you’re across from the balcony, jump off of the wall and
onto the balcony to uncover a new path. Eliminate the enemy here.

Your goal the first time you’re in the central hall is to reach this balcony.

At the pole trap, wait for it to move left or right and leap across the gap. Perform the same
move again and reach the ladder. Descend the ladder and eliminate another enemy.

Bypass the pole trap by running along the right wall when the traps move down into the pit.
Reach the next ladder. Descend carefully to avoid the moving pole traps. When you reach the
bottom of the ladder, leap to the ledge. Traverse the ledge and move across from the next
ladder. Leap backward to grab the next ladder. Descend to the floor and fight a couple more
enemies.

The holes in the floor ahead represent a floor spike trap. Roll across this trap to bypass the
spikes and avoid damage. Save your game at the fountain.

Chasing the Girl in Black

You’re in the southern passage. Avoid the next floor spike trap by rolling across and time
your roll to move under the pole trap. At the next corner, avoid the pole trap configuration.
Wait until the traps spread apart before scurrying through and into the next chamber.

Track Shadhee into this chamber, though she exits quickly. Battle the plentiful enemies in the
room. Use acrobatic and wall combos and roll quickly to the black mist enemy to avoid long-
range attacks. A new foe appears--extremely quick women in red. Do not use acrobatic moves
against these enemies; these foes block the acrobatic attacks. Instead, perform wall strikes and
standard attack combos (primary and secondary weapon).

The room is somewhat in disrepair. Some of the flooring is gone so you’ll need to run along
walls or jump gaps to reach certain spots. For instance, just to the right of the entrance is a

platform containing a weapon rack. Reach the area on to the opposite side of the room (back
left corner) to locate an artwork chest resting near a column.

Look at the columns along the room’s center and find one on the right side that has bars
overhead. Hop onto the base of the column and jump up to the bar. Swing to the next bar.
Shimmy around to the right and get onto the left side of the bar (requires you to turn around
when you first get to the bar). Swing up to the ledge and crush the enemy here.

Maneuver carefully across the beams. If you fall off, pull yourself back up and keep going.

Walk across the beam to the right and reach the far platform. Battle more enemies on this
ledge and break the containers for some sand. Look on the back wall to find more bars. Jum
p
and grab hold and swing to the next bar overhead. There’s a beam above the second bar.
Reach the beam by swinging on the bar, leaping against the wall, and then jumping off the
wall onto the beam. Hop from the beam to the next platform. Fight the acrobatic enemies and
snag a weapon from the rack if desired.

Face the room’s center. Drop off the edge of the platform but keep hold. Jump backward to
the beams. Cross the beam to the opposite side and leap to the ledge. Defeat the enemies that
wait for you. Break open containers for sand.

Run along the back left wall and reach the curtain. Near the curtain’s bottom, press jump to
reach the ledge below your previous positio n. Start across the next beam and spot the
acrobatic enemy. The goal here is to jump when the enemy attacks. You’ll evade her strike.
Immediately press attack to knock her off of the beam. Resume across the beam to the next
platform and combat another acrobatic foe.

Jump to the beam along the back wall. Hop to the next beam then jump against the wall and
the overhead beam. From there, jump to the next platform. Crush the acrobatic enemies that
appear here. Also, note this location for much later in the game. There’s a broken gate that
can be busted later to uncover a hidden life upgrade.

You’ll leap from the corner alcoves to these girders. You may even encounter an enemy on
the beam.

Face the room’s center and drop off the edge. Leap backward to the beam. As you cross the
beam, an acrobatic enemy drops on the opposite side. Dodge her attack with a jump then
counter immediately. When you’re underneath the bar switch, walk out onto the beam and
jump to grab hold and pull the bar switch down.

Jump to the curtain and ride it down to the opened passage. Proceed through the new route.
You’ll reach a hole. Drop off the ledge and spot the curtain underneath. Drop onto the curtain
and ride it toward the bottom. Leap off when you’re across from the beam. Leap to the shorter
beam then across to the adjacent beam. Hop over to another small beam before landing into
the next passage.

When you land, roll across the floor trap. Bust some containers to gain sand before saving
your game at the fountain.

A Damsel in Distress

You’re just outside the sacr ificial altar. You spot Shadhee and an unknown woman engaged
in battle. You must battle Shadhee again. Her attacks remain essentially the same; though she
employs a damaging kick that tears through your blocks. Utilize your power to recall time if

you suffer significant damage. Also, there are several containers back near the altar’s
entrance. Break them to recover some sand.

There’s another problem. Shadhee is kicking the unknown woman’s hand. It doesn’t take
many kicks before the woman falls into the abyss. If you mo ve away from the battle, Shadhee
will move to the woman and resume kicking. If you go for the sand containers, you must
return quickly; if the woman falls to her death, the game ends in failure.

Be defensive against Shadhee’s assault. Block her attacks then counter with your own assault.

Block Shadhee’s attacks like before. When she unleashes the uppercut, counter with your own
series of primary and secondary weapon strikes. If she turns her back to you and goes for the
unknown woman, assault with a combination strike. As you knock down Shadhee’s health,
you’ll engage sword-to-sword at close-range. Press attack quickly to gain the upper hand. Be
careful around the edges. Shadhee’s kick can knock you off--a big problem if you’re out of
sand tanks.

After the battle, the room crumbles and the woman you saved escapes the chamber through an
alternate route.

Objective: Reach the Hourglass Chamber (Past).

LIFE UPGRADE: Before leaving the sacrificial altar, go up the stairs and find an artwork
chest. Also, grab and pull the altar toward the stairs. This opens a secret passage. Follow the
passage to reach your first life upgrade. This increases the prince’s maximum health as well
as restoring your health in the process. Roll over the floor spikes and dodge the pole traps.
Roll under the spinning blades. At the large gap in the floor, run along the right wall when the

blade moves toward the top of the screen. Roll under the final pole traps to reach the life
upgrade.

Hop onto the broken column on the right side of the chamber (facing the altar). Leap to the
ledge. Traverse it to the right and jump to the bar. Swing on the bar and leap to the ledge
above. Jump to the left to the adjacent ledge. Hop to the bar then swing on the bar and jump
off the wall to reach the bar overhead. Swing on the overhead bar to reach the platform on the
left.

Jump up and grab the rope. Hold the special action button to run along the wall while holding
the rope. Press action to let go and run toward the beam. From the beam, leap to the walkway
then save your game at the fountain on the left. Break nearby containers to replenish your
sand tanks.

Fate’s Dark Hand

Run to the ledge across from the fountain and drop and hang off. Drop to the beam straight
below. Walk on the beam toward the column and continue to the right. From the end of the
beam, leap to the ledge on the column. Traverse around to the left then jump to the bar. Swing
to the next narrow ledge. Jump up twice then shimmy to the right and onto the upper
walkway.

Hop onto the debris and climb the rope. Leap from the rope to the bar switch. Jump from the
switch back to the rope and descend. While standing the edge of the platform run along the
left wall to the balcony. Jump up to the rope and use it to reach the next pathway in the
corner. Enter the circular chamber on the right and battle a couple acrobatic enemies. There’s
a weapon rack here if you need a secondary weapon. Return to the previous balcony and
throw the enemies off.

In the circular room, run up the back wall and grab hold of the upper ledge. Leap up to the
higher ledge then use itto jump to the bar in the room’s center. Swing to the next highest bar.
Turn around on the bar and swing to the next higher bar. Swing again to reach the next
passage. Break some containers for sand before jumping up to the ledge along the right side
of the wall. Jump up to the next ledges and hop to the bar.

While hanging from the lower bar, you need to swing toward the wall and jump off the wall
to reach the upper bar. Turn around again and swing fromthe bar to reach the ledge. Avoid
the pole trap by dropping and holding onto the ledge. Shimmy to the left underneath the pole
trap.

When you’ve shimmied as far as possible, wait until the pole trap moves against the wall then
pull up and leap to the opposite ledge. Wait until the pole trap moves away again then pull up
and continue into the hallway.

Around the corner a couple blades guard the wall. Run along the right wall to the rope when
the blade moves up. Leap to the opposite rope and use it to reach the far ledge. Run along the
wall when the blade moves near the bottom of its run. You may have to adjust your rope run
to get the blade in the right spot. Maneuver through the pole traps around the corner (wait for
an opening in the center) and enter the time travel room. Drink from the fountain to replenish
health and save your progress.

Upon entering new time travel rooms, you must activate the portal by inputting the correct
four-button sequence.

This time travel room must be activated. To activate the room, you must toggle the four
switches in the room in the appropriate order. A switch remains depressed if it’s been pushed
in the correct order. If you press a switch out of order, the entire sequence resets. It’s
essentially trial and er ror. Figure out the first switch, then the second, then the third, and
finally the fourth. Walk to the platform’s edge to return to the present.

For traveling through time you receive arguably the best power in the game, Eye of the Storm.
You can now slow down time temporarily, which will help you circumvent traps as well as
become more powerful during combat situations.

Exit the chamber (save your game again if you wish). Roll over the floor spikes and past the
pole traps. When you reach the edge, drop off and hold and shimmy to the right until you’re
over the next ledge. Drop down until you’re on the platform below.

Run along the left wall to the next platform. Drop off its back side and down to ledges
underneath. Break containers in the corner to recover sand. There’s a floor switch here that
opens the nearby door. But the door doesn’t stay open long. You must use the Eye of the
Storm power to slow down time so you can reach the door before closes.

switch then tap the slow time button. Run and roll under the door before it closes.

Enjoy your power while time remains slow by assaulting the two guards ahead. Hang off the
ledge and drop to the platform below. A brief cut scene reveals the Dahaka for the first time.

If you’re unsure where to head next, use the landscape or first-person camera and look for
close beams, bars, ledges, or ropes.

Turn around to face the opposite direction. Run along the right wall to reach the beam. Pull up
onto the beam and leap to the next one. Walk to the end of the beam and jump to the rope
against the wall. Run with the rope and use it to reach the bar. Swing to the next bar and
finally the walkway ahead.

Walk onto the beam that faces the room’s center. Jump and grab hold of the beam. Pull
yourself up on top and leap to the column across from the curtain. Shimmy to the right so
your back is to the curtain. Jump to the curtain, slide down, and jump back to the beam below.

Walk onto the beam toward the room’s center and jump to the adjacent bar. Shimmy around
to right and swing to reach the platform. Face the room’s center to see you’re within jumping
distance of the room’s center walkway. Jump down and battle the guards. Toss the acrobatic
women off of the edge and use your own acrobatic combo attacks against the others.

One of the tougher skills in the game is the rebound jump. Sometimes the only way to reach a
high ledge is to jump back and forth between two walls.

At the far side of the room, turn right and hop up onto the ledge. You must reach a high bar.
To do so, run against the wall and jump back toward the column. Continue to jump as you hit
each surface to work your way up until you reach the column. Leap backward to the niche in
the wall then perform another series of jumps to continue even higher.

When you reach the highest ledge, shimmy to the prince’s left until your back is to the beam.
Pull up and hop to the opening in the wall. Climb up into the hallway. Drink from the fountain
to save your game.

Leap over the gap and exit onto the rampart to have your first close encounter with the
Dahaka. This is the first of many sequences where you must escape the Dahaka’s grasp. The
Dahaka pursues close behind and you must quickly, yet carefully, traverse a series of
obstacles to remain ahead of the creature. The slightest hesitation and the Dahaka could reach
your position and end your game. Perform the following moves to evade the Dahaka during
this chase:

1) Turn the left corner on the rampart.

2) At the edge, run along the left wall to the far platform.

3) At the end of this path, leap to the bar on the right.

4) Swing from bar to bar to reach the next ledge. You automatically roll through the hole.

Bust the barrels to clear a path. Ascend the stairs and slaughter the enemy at the top. Hang off
the edge and drop down to the path below.

Run along the left wall and leap to the column. Climb the column until you’re above the next
platform. Leap from the column to the platform and enter the next chamber. You’re back near
the fortress entrance.

Run along the right wall and slide down the curtain and drop to the floor. Search the bottom
area for containers holding sand and a weapon rack if you need a secondary weapon. Hop up
the nearby column and run up its edge to reach the column. Shimmy to the left to reach the
walkway above.

The Dahaka is relentless. You must perform a near-flawless series of moves to evade his
grasp.

Run along the left wall to reach the far ledge. Traverse and shimmy around to the left so you
circumvent the hole. Drop onto solid ground on the opposite side. As soon as you drop down,
the Dahaka returns. Flee the Dahaka by performing the following moves.

1) Run down the hall. Reach the first gap and run along the right wall to reach the other side.

2) You automatically maneuver into the time travel room. The wall of water protects you
from the Dahaka.

Walk to the edge to travel through time and return to the past. Use the save fountain to save
your progress.

A Helping Hand

Exit the time travel chamber and maneuver past the pole trap and the wall blades. You’ll
reach a room you’ve been previously only to spot the sandwraith for the first time. He appears
to attack you before running off. Search the room for a weapon rack if you need a secondary
weapon.

You’ve been here before so follow the steps to reach the exit. Climb the column to its top and
jump to the ledge. Shimmy to the left and onto the walkway. Leap to the ledge and traverse it
around to the left and hop onto the opposite walkway. Run along the right wall to hit the
switch. Slide down the curtain and exit through the open door.

You’re back inside a familiar area--there’s that life upgrade you couldn’t get before. You now
have the Eye of the Storm and can slow down that grate. Walk forward toward the hall ahead
but turn left just before entering the hall. Run up the wall and pull up. Run up the wall again
and leap backward to reach the ledge behind you.

Run along the left wall and leap to the column. Hop down to the next walkway and crush the
enemies with an acrobatic combo assault. Approach the staircase.

You may have noticed this floor switch earlier in the game. Press the switch, slow time with
Eye of the Storm, and then roll through the open grate to reach a passage to a life upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE: Look to the left to find the floor switch (and barrels if you weren’t here
previously). Hit the floor switch and use Eye of the Storm to slow time. Ascend the stairs and
roll under the open grate. Roll over the floor spikes and past the spinning blade and crusher.
Continue around the corner and similar traps. Roll past each until you reach the hall’s end.
Reach the end to automatically receive your second life upgrade.

Retrace your steps out of the hall. When you reach the grate, run up the wall to the switch to
open it and roll through. Return down to ground level and enter the passage containing a
couple pole traps.

Maneuver between the pole traps and roll under the pole moving up and down. Skirt through
the third trap and reach a save game fountain.

Round the corner and snag a weapon from the rack if desired. Battle the black mist creatures
by rolling close and using an acrobatic combination. Return up the long fortress’ staircase and
fight more foes at the top. Utilize the Eye of the Storm power against these multiple enemies.

It does consume a full sand tank but if you’re having trouble getting by a certain trap, use the
Eye of the Storm power for assistance.

After ascending the stairs, roll under the spinning blade. Leap to the ledges and traverse them
to the right to reach the next passageway. Kill the creature and roll under more spinning
blades. You’ve returned to the central hall. Crush the enemies (can toss them off the path too)
and reach the far side. Save your game at the fountain and pick up a weapon from the rack if
needed.

Ascend the stairs and reach the next pole trap. Roll under each trap while the pole is at its
peak. Roll under the spinning blade at the top. At the next gap, wait until the two pole traps

separate before running along the right wall. Duck under another blade trap and reach the next
gap.

The gap is far too long to just run along the wall. Plus a couple pole traps appear when you
move to the edge. Wait until the lower pole trap moves away from your position then run
along the left wall. At the end of your run, jump to the ledge on the right side of the corridor.
Depending on where the pole trap is, either walk to the right to avoid damage or leap to the
ledge above and stand above the trap.

This sequence is found on the path to the Hourglass Chamber...you’ll pass through here
several times.

Now you must maneuver under the upper pole trap. When the lower pole is behind your
position, drop off the ledge and shimmy to the left. Drop onto the next hallway. Roll under the
spinning blades including another at the top of the stairs. Climb the ladder on the left and
jump backward to the wall switch. Hang on the switch until it drops to open the nearby door.
Drop from the switch and use the Eye of the Storm power to slow time so you can roll into the
Hourglass Chamber.

You’re instructed on how to open the door into the throne room. You must activate a
mechanical and garden tower to unlock the mechanism that bars the throne room. You’re also
handed a new sword; it serves as your new primary weapon as well as means of activating the
entrance to each tower from the central hall. The new sword is the Serpent Sword and offers a
new four-strike combination. Save your game at the fountain as you leave the Hourglass
Chamber and search the right wall (facing the exit) to find an artwork chest.

The Key and the Lock

Objective: Gain access to the Towers (Past).

The lever inside the central hall controls access to the two towers.

Retrace your steps to the central hall. Pull down the switch on the wall to open the exit and
roll through before the door closes. Traverse the same traps you just bypassed to reach the
Hourglass Chamber. At the pole trap over the gap, grab the ledges and shimmy underneath

while the lower pole trap moves away. Pull up on the other side. At the far right side, leap to
the opposite ledge and pull yourself up to the upper niche. Shimmy right until you’re into the
hallway.

Bypass the final set of spinning blade and pole traps as you return to the central hall. Find the
lock on the floor and approach it to automatically place in the key. This raises a new lever in
the hall’s center. Eliminate the enemies that arrive.

The Towers

Objective: Activate the Towers (Past).

This central hall provides access to the towers, the Hourglass Chamber, and even the
sacrificial altar if you wish to backtrack there for the original life upgrade. Moving the lever
adjusts the hall’s flooring to provide access to each tower.

Proper use of the central hall’s lever can also steer you toward a life upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE: Before you proceed into a tower, take time to hunt down a life upgrade.
Adjust the lever so it points toward the route to the Hourglass Chamber (the lever closes the
gap toward that path). While you stand at the lock and facing the Hourglass Chamber route,
drop onto a platform on the left side. Hang onto the edge and jump to the left and back to the
right repeatedly to safely descend to the platform below. At the bottom, drop down to another
platform below. Turn left while facing the abyss. Run along the left wall. When you reach the
end, press jump and rebound back and forth up the two walls until you’re at the top. At the
top, face the abyss and spot the entrance just diagonal and below your position. Run and jump
to that entrance. Hit jump just as you reach the edge so you make the distance. Once inside
the hall, roll over the floor spikes and between and under the pole traps. At the staircase,
avoid the spinning blade and run along the right wall to go over the pole. Round the corner to
reach the life upgrade. After gaining the upgrade, return to the central hall. From your current
ledge, jump straight across to the adjacent ledge. Run up the wall and rebound jump up the
two walls until you reach the top. Return to the hall.

Rotate the lever until it’s facing to the left (if you’re facing the Hourglass Chamber). If you
consider pointing toward the Hourglass Chamber as 12 o’clock then rotate the lever to the 9
o’clock position.

Traverse the series of ledges and platforms to find the passage into the mechanical tower.

Hop over the gap toward the Hourglass Chamber. Destroy the weapon rack on the left side.
Run along the right wall and jump at the end to reach the left platform. Run along the right
wall again to reach a series of ledges. Ascend the ledges to the top. Jump backward to reach
the platform behind you. Run up the wall to grab hold of the ledge. Spot the entrance. Before
leaping to the entrance, jump to the platform in the right corner to find an artwork chest.
Proceed through the entrance.

Pull down the switch then use the Eye of the Storm power to roll under the spinning blades
and through the open door. Jump over the gap. Reach the back wall with the candles. Run up
the side wall and rebound jump to the top. Wait until the blades separate before running to the
ladder. Ascend the ladder. At the top, jump backward to the ledge. Shimmy to the right until
your back is to the hallway. Jump backward to reach the hallway. Pull up and avoid the
crushers. Save your game at the fountain.

Look for ledges below to drop down onto so you can reach solid ground.

Descend the stairs and battle the guards in the bottom room. Crush them with acrobatic
combo attacks. Walk onto the ledge in the back end of the room. Traverse the ledge as far as
possible to the left. Drop down to the ledge below then drop and hang on. Shimmy to the left
and drop two more ledges. Hang on the bottom one and shimmy to the right until you’re over
solid ground. Drop down and enter the next chamber.

Defeat a series of guards that enter the room. Use your acrobatic combos and slice open the
enemies to release sand so you can replenish your tank. Before killing all enemies, take time
to bust open the room’s containers to ensure you have maximum sand for the battle ahead.

Once you have defeated all guards, a powerful golem storms into the room. You’ll face
additional golems during the game and they are all defeated in a similar fashion. Strike the
back of the golem’s legs. If the golem attempts to stomp or swipe at you, roll to avoid the
attack. Roll into position behind the golem and strike his legs until the golem drops to the
ground. Use the action button to climb up the golem’s back.

Slow time with Eye of the Storm during your attack on the golem’s tough cranium.

Immediately activate the Eye of the Storm power to slow time as you assault the golem’s
head. The golem won’t let you hang up there forever. When he drops a shoulder and hand,
move in that direction to avoid the golem’s grasp and continue to pound on its head. If you’re
swift, you can eliminate the golem during the slowed time. After the battle, search the room
for containers holding sand.

Exit through the opposite doorway. Look to the right of the stairs to find an artwork chest.
Enter the alcove to the staircase’s left and spot the wall switch. Run up the wall to activate the
switch; it raises a platform in an alcove to the right. Activate the Eye of the Storm if
necessary. Get onto the platform then run up the wall to the ledge. Pull up into the room
above where you can save your game.

Clockworks and Gears

This mechanism is moving really fast! Invoke Eye of the Storm to make this jump more
manageable.

You’re now inside the mechanical tower. Turn around from the fountain and face the
spinning--rather fast actually--mechanism. Walk onto the beam then use the Eye of the Storm
ability to slow time so you can safely jump as the mechanism spins. Drop off the beam and
battle a group of enemies, including the appearance new creature that explodes upon death.
Toss the enemies off of the bridge or pound them with combination attacks.

Turn left on the platform and face the think column-like pistons. Watch the pistons rise and
lower and time your jump across each so there’s a column to land on. Leap from the last
column toward the wall and land on the beam. Hop from the beam to the platform to the right.

Run up the wall to hit the switch. When the platform moves away, run along the right wall
and grab hold of the platform. Drop off and shimmy around the left to the platform’s other
side. Leap from the platform to the bar. Swing from the bar into the alcove.

The lever in this alcove controls the direction of the bar you just swung from.

There’s a lever inside the alcove. Turn the lever 90 degrees counter-clockwise; note that it
moves the bar you just used. Jump to this bar. Start swinging and wait for the next bar to
lower into position. Jump to the next bar and finally the railing. It’s here you’re attacked for
the first time by the new creatures.

These beasts explode upon death (after around three hits). You’ll first notice the beast start to
smoke and smolder--the next hit causes the explosion. When you strike the beast, hop away
using the action button quickly to avoid blast damage.

Jump up to the bar switch to raise a platform behind you. Proceed onto the platform and battle
more exploding beasts. Hop away when they’re about to explode to avoid damage. Spot the
small overhead beam on the left. Jump up and pull yourself onto the beam.

Pulling down this bar switch raises a platform behind you.

Jump across to the next beam. Drop off and shimmy to the right until you’re under the ledges.
Jump up to the top ledge. Shimmy around to the left until you can drop inside the alcove.
Crush the enemy inside and find the artwork chest in the corner.

Climb the ladder. Jump backward onto the railing. Traverse to the left until you’re across
from the opposite ledge and jump to it. Continue left and drop down and hang so you can
shimmy to the left. Pull up and jump to the bar. Shimmy on the bar to the right so you’re
facing the alcove. Face the alcove and the spinning wall. When the wall turns toward you,
swing and leap from the bar onto the wall’s ledge. Jump into the alcove. There’s another lever
here. Turn it clockwise to start a nearby gear.

Exit the alcove to the left and leap to the bar. Swing from the bar to the gear you started. Leap
when the gear’s edge faces your position (not while it’s moving). Ride the gear around to the
opposite side and jump backward to the bar. Swing on the bar into the alcove.

There’s a floor switch in the alcove; there’s also an exploding creature waiting on the wall.
You can defeat the creature easily by tossing your secondary weapon in its direction. Hit the
wall switch to cause a wall to turn in your direction. Run along the wall and jump to that

turned wall (use Eye of the Storm if necessary). Ride it to the other side then leap to the ledge.
Drop down onto the path. Defeat the exploding beasts and pick up a secondary weapon from
the rack if needed.

Take a right into the alcove. Break the barrels to regain some sand and to make a path for
your wall run. Now run up the wall and jump back toward the bar switch. This raises another
platform outside.

If you move all the way to the left, you can find an artwork chest in this corner alcove.

Cross onto that platform and battle the exploding beasts. Jump up to the beam on the right.
Walk out onto the edge and slow time with the Eye of the Storm power. Jump to the next
beam while avoiding the spinning mechanism. Jump from the beam to the ledge toward the
next beam. Shimmy to the right and pull up. Jump to the ledge above. Continue to the left
toward the next hall. If you continue to the left you’ll find an alcove containing an artwork
chest.

Enter the hallway and roll under the spinning blade. To avoid the next trap, slow time and hop
onto the crusher. Run along the right wall over the pole traps. Avoid the crusher on the
opposite side. Navigate through the next pole trap and down stairs to the wall switch.

You can’t reach it with a wall run. Instead, run up the left wall to reach the niche. Shimmy to
the right and you’ll hit the switch. Drop down and roll through the door on the right. Save
your game at the fountain.

Descend the staircase into the next room. Battle the stronger enemies below. They’re
susceptible to the acrobatic combinations. Also, use the Eye of the Storm if necessary and
unleash primary and secondary weapon combos. Save one sand tank, however. Break open
containers if you’re out of sand.

This wall switch raises a platform that drops back down very quickly. Use Eye of the Storm
for help.

Spot the wall switch to the right of the entrance. It raises a block nearby. Activate the Eye of
the Storm so you can reach the block in time. Once you’re on the block, run up the back wall

to reach the rope. Swing on the rope and run toward the walkway on the left. Battle the
enemies on the bridge; toss them off if desired.

When you reach the intersection, the prince spots the sandwraith again. If you want another
artwork chest then take an optional path to the left. Defeat the exploding beast. Proceed down
the hall on the right. Roll under the pole trap and avoid the crusher. Roll under the next two
pole traps at the staircase. Roll under the spinning blade at the bottom. Avoid the traps as you
approach the door. Hit the floor switch and roll under the door. Climb the ladder and leap to
the top of the center structure to find the artwork chest. Return outside and to the prior
intersection. Now go down the unexplored route to the right.

Run along the left wall and avoid the spinning spokes to reach the far walkway. Defeat the
enemy here and face the faster wheel. Use the Eye of the Storm to slow down the wheel so
you can run past it easier. If you are out of sand tanks then time your run carefully to avoid
getting struck. Time the run as the spoke appears onscreen. As you run along the wall, jump
to the column. Leap from column to column and reach the alcove in the corner.

Rotate the lever clockwise 180 degrees to lower a platform outside. Quickly run along the left
wall to the platform (it starts to rise). You can use the Eye of the Storm if needed. Ride the
platform up.

When the platform reaches the top, turn around and face the prior alcove. Run along the right
wall. When you reach its end, jump to the nearby wall and rebound up to the higher walkway.
Eliminate the beasts up here. Open an artwork chest in the back corner of the walkway. Ignore
the bar switch. Instead move down the opposite side of the walkway and leap into the room
beyond.

This second battle against a golem is similar to the first: use the same battle tactics to defeat
the beast.

Another golem appears in this room. Break open the containers to recover sand if needed.
Defeat the golem using prior tactics: attack the back of its legs then climb on its back when it
drops to the floor. Use the Eye of the Storm then pound on the golem’s head until it perishes.
Note that this golem can be avoided by just moving past it. Before leaving, explore the hall on
the left. Find an artwork chest in this hallway.

Beyond the golem, run along the left wall and snag the rope. Use the rope to reach the water
on the opposite side. Take a drink to replenish health. Hop over the railing into the spinning
waterwheel. You must navigate to the right. To do so, roll through the gaps in the spokes. The
gaps alternate to the left and right side. Hop over the railing on the right when you reach the
path. Jump and grab the bar switch at the end.

You can drink from this water and replenish your health.

Return to the waterwheel and continue to the right. From the railing jump to the bar and swing
to the next bar and finally to the alcove. Defeat the enemies here by either tossing them to
their doom or using acrobatic combinations. Enter the passage.

Roll to avoid the floor spikes and pole trap. You’ll reach a large gap. Run along the right wall
when the blade ascends and reach a rope. Swing on the rope and continue across when the
blade moves up to reach the safety of the next hall. Carefully navigate the pole trap and
crusher.

Swing from the rope and run along the wall to the far walkway.

After the first crusher you’ll spot a lower pole trap. To get past it, use the Eye of the Storm to
slow time and climb onto the crusher. Run along the right or left wall to avoid the pole trap.
Turn the corner to the right. Run along the right wall between the pole traps to reach the time
travel room beyond. Activate the room by using the four wall switches and travel to the
present. Save your game at the fountain.

Traveling through time here rewards you with a new ability: the Breath of Fate. It’s an area
effect attack that’s useful when you’re up against multiple enemies.

Navigate the pole trap by running along the wall while the pole moves up. You’ll find the
crushers around the next corner. Climb onto the first crusher and run along the left wall to
avoid the low pole trap. Use Eye of the Storm if necessary. When you reach the gap and
blade, run along the left wall and avoid the blade. Grab the rope. Swing on the rope and run
along the wall then jump to the opposite wall to land on the ledge. Traverse the ledge toward
the next hall. As you near the hall, drop off the ledge and shimmy to the left. Pull yourself up
into the hallway. Roll over the floor spikes and past the pole traps back into the mechanical
tower.

Drop down over that curtain to slide down safely.

Crush the enemies here and search the containers for extra sand. There’s also a weapon rack
on the right side. Hang off the ledge and shimmy above the curtain. Drop down to safely slide
to the platform below. Run along the left wall between the spokes and leap to the column.
Jump from column to column to the alcove.

Turn around and face the area’s center. Spot the platform moving up and down along the left
wall. Run to the platform as it lowers. Turn around again as the platform rises. Run along the
right wall and jump from wall to wall to rebound up to the upper walkway. At the end of the
path find the containers to search for sand and the weapon rack if you need a secondary
weapon.

Defeat one of the exploding beasts next to the door to Watch your step in the mechanical
open the passage. tower.

Jump into the next room--this is where you battled a golem in the past. Crush the enemies
inside the room and take note of the boarded up door you were shown in the cut scene. To
destroy this door, you must defeat one of the exploding beasts close to the door; the resulting
explosion breaks the boards and opens the passage.

Roll through the open door after pressing this floor switch.

Enter this new area and run along the left wall to the rope. Swing the rope and continue along
the left wall until you can jump into the water on the right. Drink the water to replenish
health. Hop over the railing and roll under the broken spokes as you move to the right. Jump
the gap then a second gap on the right toward the next enemy. Eliminate the foe with
acrobatic combo attacks.

Drop from this platform to the ledge below. Traverse the ledge to the right and drop down
another ledge and finally to the floor where you’ll face more enemies. Leap across the broken
bridge and take care of the enemy standing there. Leap through the wall of water to the left.
Continue through the passage on the right. Eliminate the shadow foe here.

Encounter some pole traps around the corner. Role under the traps as you descend the stairs.
Step on the floor switch at the bottom and roll inside the room. Eliminate the enemies inside.

Climb the ladder and watch the overhead spinning platform. When the opening appears above
your position, jump backward to grab hold of the platform. Pull yourself up. Jump up onto the
back ledge of the room. Pull up to the ledge above. From that position, you need to leap to the
ledge on the spinning column. Allow the column to spin 180 degrees and jump to the next
ledge.

Work your way up the spinning column by jumping to the ledges.

Now jump backward again to the spinning column and the ledge. Jump up and grab the ledge
above. Pull up and up again onto the platform. Hop up to the ledge on the right side of the
room. Grab hold of the ledge above. Leap backward to the ledge on the spinning column.
Jump to the wall just underneath the switch. Leap back to the ledge on the spinning column.

At this point you must jump from the spinning column, hit the wall switch, and then jump
back. Note that the ledge you’re currently riding on is missing a side. Position the side so it’s
to your right so when you jump to the switch, the missing piece won’t be there on your jump
back. Ride the column around and jump through the open door. Save your game at the
fountain.

Ascend the steps and hop over the debris. Use the column to aid your attack on the enemies
inside the room. If you suffer damage, return to the fountain. Continue into the next chamber
to find the activation room. The problem is its in shambles in the present. You must find a
portal.

Leap out onto the rocky path. Walk to the wall. Run up one side and rebound jump to the top.
Crush the enemies here using your new area effect attack or by activating Eye of the Storm.

Traverse the alcoves and ledges in search of the route to a portal.

Run up the fence-like block on the right side. Turn back around and jump on top of the block
in the alcove’s center. Jump to the ledges and ascend to the top. Turn to the prince’s left and
run along the right wall to the next small alcove. Continue to the ladder and ascend. Battle the
addition enemies here using your Eye of the Storm power. Break some barrels in the corner to
regain a sand tank.

Drop over the railing to the barrels’ left side. Drop down to the ledge below and shimmy to
the left and around the corner. Leap to the platform. Toss the acrobatic chicks off of the
platform. Descend the ladder on the left side.

Avoid the swinging obstacle as you jump backward to the beam. Jump into the next passage.
Use Eye of the Storm to slow the blades. Run between them and grab the rope. Swing on the
rope and continue toward the end of the hall. Jump from the wall to the ledges on the left side.
Pull up into the next hallway.

Run along the right wall to drop into the alcove. Descend the ladder and crush the enemies
using the Eye of the Storm power. After completing the fight, run up the fence-like block on
the right side. Run up the right wall to grab hold of the niche. Shimmy to the left. When you
round the corner, jump backward to the next ledge. Drop down and shimmy to the far left
side. Drop when you’re over solid ground.

The Dahaka has found the prince again!

Walk forward and turn around the right corner. This initiates the arrival of the Dahaka!
Perform the following moves to evade this latest Dahaka pursuit.

1) Run along the right wall to the far walkway. Pull up if necessary.

2) Turn the left corner then run along the right wall to the rope. Immediately swing and let go
to continue the wall run to the far platform.

3) Turn left and move through the wall of water to keep the Dahaka out.

Run up the right wall to hit the switch. This moves the left wall closer. Rebound jump up to
the top. Crush the enemies at the top. Try to gain some sand tanks here because the Dahaka
chase begins anew after you continue down the next passage.

4) Leap over the gap and the Dahaka spots you again.

5) Round the corner then run along the left wall and grab the rope. Swing the rope to the
opposite side and into the next passage.

6) Round the corner to the left and run along the right wall.

7) Run through the wall of water into the time travel portal!

Save your game at the fountain. Activate the time travel portal using the four switches. Travel
back to the past! You’re awarded with a new sand tank for your efforts.

When you exit the portal you realize the Dahaka is nowhere to be found...but unfortunately
the tower’s traps have returned in force.

Run along the left wall and over the moving pole trap. Use Eye of the Storm if needed. Roll
under the spinning blade and through the open grate. Continue around the corner to the wall
blades. Run along the right wall to the rope. Activate Eye of the Storm to slow down those
blades. Swing on the rope and use it to reach the far hallway.

Eliminate the exploding beasts on the next walkway then roll under the obstruction toward
more enemies. Leap over to their platform and battle the hostiles. Continue to the end and
drop and hold onto the ledge. Rebound jump down into the hall below.

Avoid the blades when crossing this chasm.

Walk through the wall of water and battle the enemies on the other side. Activate the Eye of
the Storm to gain the upper hand and use your primary and secondary weapon combinations.

Face the next chasm. Run along the left wall to the rope. Swing on the rope and run to the far
walkway. There’s a floor switch on the right that activates floor spikes that can be used to
damage the enemies. Eliminate the opposition as you proceed through the hall. Run along the
left wall to cross the next chasm.

You reenter the activation room--it’s in much better condition in the past but there’s also a
golem here that could make your task more difficult. The golem can’t get close to you--yet--
but tosses exploding creatures at your position. The creatures explode on impact. That could
certainly hurt but it also has a purpose. Hop onto the ledge to the left in the entry hall to find
an artwork chest.

It’s wise to get the door open into the save fountain as soon as possible.

When you enter the activation room, immediately run to the right corner and stand near the
boarded up door. Fight the enemies here; you want the golem to toss an exploding creature to
this position. The detonation will break apart the door. Get inside to find a save fountain.
Finish off the remaining enemies and continue to return to the fountain to replenish health as
needed.

LIFE UPGRADE: Before proceeding further, go to the far left corner of this walkway and
stand near the boarded up door. Allow the golem to toss his explosive projectiles in your
direction. When the boarded up door crumbles, go into the hall. Run past the crushers then
roll under the pole traps and over the floor spikes. Around the next corner, leap onto the
crushers and run along the right wall to bypass the pole trap. At the next corner, spot the
crushers overhead. Run up the left wall and leap to the overhead crusher as it moves away.
Pull up onto the crusher then run along the right wall to bypass the pole traps. Continue
around the corner to find the life upgrade. Return to the activation room and the save game
fountain.

The golem’s exploding projectiles knocks down a portion of the hanging block.

There’s a switch inside the room with the save game fountain. Pull the switch down. Activate
the Eye of the Storm immediately and exit the room. Run along the right wall, though the
wheel, and to the platform beyond. Hop up the next ledge and enter the alcove. Battle the
enemies here. Stand near the room’s center so an exploding projectile busts the block hanging
above the alcove’s center. Climb the ladder if necessary so the golem aims correctly.

From the top of the ladder, leap to the top of the hanging block. Shimmy to the left and jump
backward to the small alcove. Run along the right wall to the next alcove and once again to
reach the ladder. Climb the ladder.

These levers move large gears into position.

There’s a lever here. Turn the lever counter-clockwise one full rotation. This fastens a gear in
place. Break some nearby containers to regain sand. The path lies just beyond the containers.
Run along that left wall to reach the narrow bridge. Perform the action when the shifting
siding is in position so you have something to run on (use Eye of the Storm if needed). Run
again over the siding on the left wall to the ledge.

Traverse to the right side. You now must drop down on the rotating gears. Drop down to the
bottom gear then finally to the bar below. Do so before the gear reaches the far left or right so
you don’t fall off. Swing from bar to bar until you land on the ledge at the back corner.

You can safely run along the wall when the portion that’s moving is lowered into position.

Traverse the ledge to the right and jump to the bar. Swing from the bar onto the next ledge to
the right. Drop down and defeat the enemies inside. Climb the ladder and wait until an
exploding projectile breaks off the hanging block. From the top of the ladder, jump to the
remainder of the hanging block. Shimmy to the right and jump backward to the alcove.

Run along the left wall twice to the ladder. Ascend the ladder to the top. There’s another lever
up here. Rotate the lever clockwise to fasten the gear in place. Eliminate the exploding beasts
that drop down.

Cross the bars and beams that extended from the gears.

Exit the alcove to the right and run along the right wall when the shifting siding is down (so
you have a surface to run on). Continue across to the far alcove and locate another lever.
Rotate the lever clockwise to fasten another gear in place.

Run along the right wall to the narrow bridge. Hop through the hole in the wall on the right to
find an artwork chest. Run along the right wall to the corner platform. Defeat the enemy then
descend the ladder. Drop off the ladder. Run along the left wall to the next platform. Drop and
hold then shimmy to the right and drop down to the floor. You’ve now returned to the area’s
start position. You will notice that a bridge now connects you with the bomb-tossing golem.
Before crossing, scurry into the room on the right side to save your game.

Approach the golem and defeat it as you defeated the others. Swipe at the back of its legs
until it drops to the ground. Climb up the golem’s back and invoke the Eye of the Storm
power while pounding on the golem’s cranium. Dodge the golem’s swipe to the left or right;
when the golem lowers its shoulder and hand, move in that direction. Save your game again
then run toward the gears.

Activate the mechanical tower with the final lever. One lock on the throne room now opens.

Run up the right wall and jump backward to the bar. Swing to the next beam. Jump to the bar
on the left. Swing from the bar and jump off the wall to the higher bar. Swing to the next
beam. Wait for the obstruction to move out of the way then leap from the beam to the ladder.
Climb the ladder. At the top, run on the back wall and leap to the bar switch. This extends a
new bridge.

Defeat the exploding beasts and make your way to the lever. Rotate the lever counter-
clockwise to activate the mechanical tower. You’re shown a lock opening at the throne room.

The Second Tower

Objective: Activate the Second Tower (Past).

Cross the bridge and go through the door. Turn right and run along the left wall while
avoiding the wheel spokes. Use the Eye of the Storm power to assist. Ascend the stairs.
There’s another wheel here. Run along the right wall and jump to the left ledge at the end of
the run. Proceed down the stairs and battle more exploding beasts.

If you see no other way down, check for a curtain!

Hang off the edge and position yourself over the curtain. Slide down the curtain and leap to
the opposite curtain. Continue to do so until you’re at the bottom. Descend the stairs and
follow the hall to the next edge. Ride more curtains down to the bottom. Break a container in
the corner for sand.

Exit the hall and move onto the platform. Descend the ladder. Walk onto the beam then use
the Eye of the Storm power to slow the mechanism so you can safely jump through the
opening to the other beam. Save your game at the fountain.

Slow time with Eye of the Storm to leap past this quick mechanism.

Go to the right and hang off the side. Drop off the ledges to the ground. Go around to the left
and through the room where you encountered the first golem. Exit the opposite side and jump
up to the ledge. You’ve been here before; you’re just retracing your steps back to the central
hall. Shimmy to the left and jump the ledges to the top. At the top, traverse to the right and
defeat the enemies inside. Follow the hall to the save fountain.

Avoid the crushers then drop off and hold the edge. Jump back to the niche and shimmy until
you’re across from the ladder. Jump to the ladder and descend. Avoid the blades. Run along
the right wall and slide down the curtain. Pull down the switch to open the door (if you need
sand, break open the container across from the switch). Use Eye of the Storm to roll under the
open door. Avoid the spinning blades by rolling underneath and return out to the central hall.
You automatically speak with Kaileena and gain the Lion Sword. You can hold down the
attack button to increase the "energy" of your attacks.

Save your game at the fountain near the steps to the Hourglass Chamber. Rotate the lever
within the central hall to the 3 o’clock position (if the route to the Hourglass Chamber is 12
o’clock). Walk to Kaileena and get onto the ledge to her left (if facing Kailenna). Face in her
direction so you can run along the left wall. Jump from the left wall to the ledges. Ascend the
ledges and jump back and forth to reach the upper platform. Leap up and open the artwork
chest before entering the hall.

The wall switch extends the flooring.

Defeat the enemies in the hall and roll under the spinning blades. You’ll reach a floor switch.
Before activating, run into the recess to the end to find an artwork chest (and some containers
holding sand). Return to the switch. Activate the switch then invoke the Eye of the Storm
power. This provides the time to run acr oss the flooring added by the switch.

Explore the next recess for another container holding sand. At the edge, run up the right wall
and jump backward to the bar. Shimmy to the right so you can swing to the next bar and
finally the switch. Jump and hit the switch and drop down. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power
when you land. Run along the new flooring to the save fountain and save your game.

The Water Maiden

Replenish health by drinking from the shallow pools. There’s also an artwork chest near one.

Follow the hallway into the hanging gardens--the garden hall. There are several guards
patrolling the area. Take the time to eliminate each enemy in the area. Search the back left
corner of this garden. There’s a pool that you can drink from that replenishes health. There’s
also an artwork chest on the left wall here.

From the entrance, find the ladder just to the left. Climb it to the top and fight your old friend,
the guy made of birds. Use an acrobatic combination to send him flying...but he’s still close
by. Climb another ladder on the right to face him again. Perform another acrobatic combo to
send him away again.

Run along the wall toward the statue and jump to reach a bar.

Run along the right wall and grab the rope. You’ll spot your nemesis again. Swing on the rope
and jump to the platform on the left to fight him a third time. Face the statue and run along the
left wall and jump to the bar. Swing from the bar to the open door.

Hang off the edge and jump to the opposite ledge. Use the ledges to descend to the hall below.
Run to the opposite side and run up the wall to hold onto the ledge. Ascend this series of
ledges to the reach the upper hall. Save your game at the fountain. Exit outside into the
gorgeous garden area.

Rotate the lever counter-clockwise to open the opposite door. Eliminate the hostile nearby and
ascend the stairs to the left. Clear out the enemies in this area. There’s an artwork chest in the
back corner of the area.

Find an artwork chest behind the Follow the path beyond this broken railing to reach a
column. life upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE: Before continuing on, look in the front left side of the area. There’s a break
in the railing. Drop off and hold onto the edge. Shimmy to the right on the ledge and drop
down. Run along the left wall to the far platform. Enter the next hallway. Use the ledges to
drop down to the hall below. It’s a long way down. At the bottom, follow the hall to the blade
trap. Roll under the blade and over the floor spikes; invoke the Eye of the Storm power as
needed. Roll under the next pole traps and the spinning blades to reach another life upgrade.
After collecting the upgrade, retrace your path back out into the garden.

Most of the beams and bars within the garden area are simply tree branches.

More enemies have arrived at the garden. Take the time to eliminate the enemies and recollect
some sand for your tanks. Run up the column in the garden’s center to lower a switch. Spot
the raised platform to the left. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power and drop off the switch and
run onto the platform. Grab hold of the ledge above the platform before it lowers.

Pull yourself up onto the ledge then jump backward to the beam. Cross the beam to the other
end then jump to the adjacent beam. Go to the left side and jump to the bar then swing to the
opposite ledge. Walk onto the beam to the left and follow it to the next column. Walk to the
end of the beam on the left and leap to the bar. Swing from the bar to the branch. Follow the
branch to the end and leap to the rope. Swing on the rope and run along the left wall to the
bar. Swing from the bar to the next column and its ledge.

The switch won’t stay depressed on its own. Drag this crate on top of the switch.

Shimmy to the right so you can jump backward to the beam. Smash your old nemesis here
with an acrobatic combination. Climb the column in the left corner and ascend its ledges to
the top. Spot the floor switch. It won’t stay down. Leap to the platform on the right and defeat
your old enemy with an acrobatic attack.

Run up the wall and jump backward to the bar switch. This lowers a bridge near the switch.
Return to the switch and cross the lowered bridge. Drag the crate onto the switch to hold it
down.

Rotate the lever to create an exit...and some changes in a previous area.

Drop off the column and battle the enemy again. Cross the walkway through the open passage
to the lever. Push the lever clockwise to raise new levers in another area. Drop off the edge
near the lever and down into the water. Drink the water to replenish health. Follow the water
to the edge.

Jump up and grab hold of the ledge. Shimmy around to the left and drop down. Cross the
beam to the center then leap to the rope on the wall. Drop down to find another lever. Rotate
the lever clockwise to open the exit. Save your game at the fountain.

Water and Gardens

Rotate these new levers to create a new route.

From the fountain go down the hall to the return to a series of ledges you traversed before.
Navigate the ledges down then back up into the next hallway. Approach the open door. Drop
and hold off the edge. Shimmy to the left over the curtain. Drop and slide down the curtain.

You’re back in the hanging gardens. More enemies have arrived and you should also spot the
new levers. Defeat the enemies in the area. Now it’s time to adjust the levers. From the area
entrance (the front of the maiden statue):

Follow the ledges to traverse this shaft.

1) Rotate the back right lever clockwise 180 degrees.

2) Rotate the front right lever clockwise 180 degrees. You should see a platform lower.

3) Rotate the back left lever clockwise 90 degrees.

4) Rotate the front left lever counter-clockwise 180 degrees. This should lower the platform
further and open the exit.

The thick foliage can conceal available routes.

Enter this exit hallway. Jump up to the ledges on the right side. Traverse the ledges up the
shaft. Defeat the birds that attack. Reach the top hall and enter the time travel portal. Activate
the portal using the four switches. Travel through time. You receive a new time attack, the
Ravages of Time, for your effort. Save at the fountain and exit the portal.

Follow the hall and crush the enemies along the way. Traverse the ledges to reach the next
hall. Fight more enemies and return inside the garden area. Run up the block on the left then
the adjacent wall. Jump backward to the beam.

Jump to the next beam then another through the thick foliage. On the next beam walk out to
the right side and follow it around to the end. Jump to the walkway and defeat the enemy
here. Drop off the back edge of the platform and shimmy to the right. Climb up the ledges.
Shimmy around to the left to the next platform. Pull up and defeat the enemies, including the

new clear acrobatic enemies. Use the Eye of the Storm power to thrash them with your
weaponry.

Run along the right wall to the tree branch. Walk out onto its left end. Jump to the ledge on
the opposite wall. Drop off the ledge to the tree below (just to the right). Walk out onto the
branch and drop down to the beam below. Cross the beam to the statue. Pull yourself up then
up onto the overhead branch. Walk to the right. Jump up into the hole.

Branch beams are prevalent in this garden’s Look for the niche to shimmy across on the
time period. left side.

Leap across to the ledge. Descend the ledges around to the left. At the bottom ledge, jump
backward to the branch. Walk around to the left then jump and grab hold of the niche.
Shimmy around to the left. Drop onto the next branch and continue around to the left. On the
far left side, leap to the ledge against the far wall and continue up to the high walkway where
there’s a save fountain.

You’ll need to shimmy right then jump backward to reach the next walkway.

Follow the path to the exit back outside. Eliminate the two guards here. Drop off the edge to
the ledge below. Shimmy to the right and around the corner. Jump backward past the
waterfall to the far ledge. Pull up and face off against the enemies on the next platform. Slow
down time with Eye of the Storm to crush the multiple foes. There’s a weapon rack here if
you need a secondary weapon.

Pull up onto the ledge in the left corner. Continue up to the niche. Shimmy around to the left
side. Pull yourself up to the top. Walk onto the broken bridge on the left. Run along the left
wall and jump at the end to reach the ledge on the right. Pull up and battle the enemies here
using Eye of the Storm.

Swing from the branch and land on top of the archway.

Pull up onto the ledge in the left corner. At the top, jump backward to the column. Spin
around until your back is turned toward the beam. Leap to the beam. Jump to the adjacent bar
then swing to the top of the arch.

Walk to the left side and leap to the niche. Shimmy around to the right and drop down. Walk
out onto the beam and leap to the bar. Swing on the bar to the upper platform. Tur n left and
leap to the bar. Swing to the platform containing the enemies below. Use the column and Eye
of the Storm to slaughter the hostiles. Find a weapon rack in the back right corner.

The tree trunks serve as viable columns.

Run along the right wall and reach the beam in the distance. Pull up to the save fountain.
Break nearby containers for sand. Run up the wall on the right to reach the top. Jump to the
column. Jump from column to column and reach the branch. Traverse the branch to the
platform. Defeat the acrobatic enemies.

Run along the right wall to the ledge. Shimmy around to the left. Pull up and enter the
hallway. Slow time with Eye of the Storm so you can leap across the top of the crushers. Save
your game at the fountain on the far side.

Turn left and spot more crushers. Slow time if needed. Leap from the first to second crusher
then run along the left wall to the rope. Swing on the rope and jump to the column. Leap to
the next column while avoiding the pole trap. Enter the next passage and fight your old pal,
the enemy made of birds. Use an acrobatic combo to slice him up.

Jump from the tree to the bar so you can swing to the next column.

Exit onto the beam and leap to the tree. Jump from the tree to the platform. Run along the
right wall to the next balcony. Jump to the column. Climb to the top and leap to the next
entrance. Use Eye of the Storm to help you defeat the enemies inside. Continue through the
next entrance. You’ve reached the right room...but at the wrong time. You also spot your
nemesis once again--he simply won’t go away!

Run along the right wall to the next platform. Jump to the column then from column to
column to the tree. Jump from the tree to the bar (this is away from the building). Swing on
the bar to the column. Leap from the column to the top of the ledge.

Turn to the left and walk onto the beam. Jump to the bar then swing onto the platform to face
your nemesis again...but this time the Dahaka intervenes. You’re tossed to another platform
and the Dahaka gives chase. Follow these maneuvers to evade the beast.

1) Run along the right wall to the ladder.

2) Descend the ladder.

3) Jump to the bar.

4) Swing from bar to bar to the far walkway.

5) Walk around to the right side.

6) Run along the left wall and into the hallway.

7) Run along the left wall to the platform.

8) Run along the left wall again and drop down in front of the doorway.

9) Exit and run along the left wall to the ladder.

10) Descend the ladder.

11) Run along the right wall to the platform containing the barrels.

12) Break a barrel to get past.

13) Pull up the ledge.

14) Turn around the right corner and run along the left wall to reach the next ledge. Shimmy
to the right so you can pull up beyond the barrel.

15) Break the barrels to open the route. Follow the only path through a series of turns until
you face a gap around a left corner.

16) Run along the right wall to the rope. Swing from the rope and run to the far platform.

17) Run to the edge and leap to the ladder.

18) Descend the ladder.

19) Follow the hall through the wall of water into the time travel portal.

Activate the portal using the wall switches. Travel through time into the past. You receive a
new sand tank as a reward. Save your game at the fountain.

Exit the portal. Defeat a few enemies through the hall. Ascend the ladders to the upper
walkway and face off against your old enemy again (he hasn’t met his fate at the hand of the
Dahaka yet). Run along the right wall to the rope. Swing from the rope and continue along the
right wall to the far walkway.

Time your run to cross the wall when the blades spread out.

Turn to the right and face the adjacent gap. Drop off the edge of the rail and leap to the bar.
Swing from bar to bar to the far platform. Defeat the enemies waiting for your arrival.

Enter the passage and follow it to the ladder. Climb the ladder and jump back to the switch.
Lower the switch and roll under the closing door. Follow the hall around to the left and to
more enemies. Eliminate them with acrobatic combos. Walk out onto the ledge. Walk onto a
ledge on the left. Traverse the ledge up to a balcony with a ladder. Climb the ladder to the top.

Find an artwork chest on the right side.

Run along the right wall past the blades. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power if needed. At the
next balcony, go inside and run along the right wall when the blades move up. Leap to the left
ledge and save your game at the fountain.

Jump up the ledge on the left. Walk out into what is essentially the garden’s activation room,
the garden waterworks. Defeat the enemies waiting for you inside the area. Search the back
area for more enemies as well as an artwork chest on the right side.

You must rotate and cross a series of platforms and beams.

Walk to the center bridge and find the lever. The lever faces the entrance. Turn it clockwise
180 degrees to face the opposite direction. You’ll note that the lever controls some of the
platforms overhead.

Walk to the back area and to the column immediately to the right. Climb up to the top of the
column. Walk onto the beam and leap to the column. Climb the column to the peak and jump
to the right to the ledge. Shimmy to the left and drop in the alcove. Run along the right wall to
the rope. Swing on the rope and land on the next balcony, which holds another lever.

Turn the levers to create a new path so you can reach the garden’s primary lever.

Turn the lever 90 degrees clockwise. Walk onto the beam and leap to the platform. Turn right
and walk along the longer beam toward the arch. Jump to the arch. Walk to the other end on
the left side and jump to another similar platform. Walk to the right and leap to another
balcony holding a lever.

Turn the lever 180 degrees clockwise. Grab a secondary weapon from the rack if needed. Run
along the right wall to the rope. Drop into the alcove. Jump up to the niche and shimmy to the
left. Jump backward to the column then the platform. Walk out onto the beam and leap to the
area ahead. Break the artwork chest in the right corner. Drop to the left and roll under the
door. Turn the lever 180 degrees counter-clockwise to start the water flowing.

Grab the artwork chest before rolling under the gate on the left.

LIFE UPGRADE: From the lever, locate the ledge in the back left corner of the room. Hop to
the higher walkway and go through the entrance. Roll over the floor spikes and under the pole
traps to reach the life upgrade at the back end. Return to the lever room when finished.

Roll back under the door. Hang off the edge and leap back to the platform. Jump to the
column. Climb the column to the top and leap to the niche against the wall. Shimmy to the
right and drop in the alcove. Run along the left wall and use the rope to swing to the balcony.
Rotate the lever 180 degrees counter-clockwise to readjust the platforms.

There’s a hidden passage at the top of the room containing the area’s primary lever.

Jump back to the platform. Turn left and walk out onto the long beam and make the jump to
the arch. Start back across to the opposite side; you spot enemies on their way in the area.
Jump across the next two platforms to the balcony with the lever. Run along the left wall to
the rope and swing to the balcony.

Jump up to the niche and shimmy to the right. Jump backward to the column. Drop down and
jump backward to the platform. From here you can drop safely to the ground. Defeat the
enemies that have arrived.

Return to the center lever and rotate it 180 degrees clockwise to adjust the water flow. You’ve
opened the second lock to the throne room.

The Door is Open

Objective: Return to the Hourglass Chamber (Past).

Defeat any remaining enemies and exit into the corridor. Run along the left wall to the
platform then again along the left wall while avoiding the blades. Crush a couple more
enemies on the balcony. Use the Eye of the Storm to assist against the clear acrobatic foes.

Run along the left wall and avoid the blades. Climb down the ladder. Now move to the right
wall and use the niche and ledges to shimmy across to the far balcony. Follow the hall to the
ladder. Climb it and jump backward to the switch. Use the Eye of the Storm power to slow
time so you can roll underneath the closing door.

Follow the hall to the balcony. Defeat the enemies. Hang off the railing and jump backward to
the bar. Swing from bar to bar to the far walkway. Crush the enemies here. Move to the far
right balcony and spot the wall switch in the distance. Run along the left wall and use the rope
to swing to the platform containing the wall switch. Crack open the artwork chest.

Work your way back to the central hall.

The wall switch controls a platform on the previous balcony. Like many others, it’s timed.
Run up the wall to hit the switch then invoke the Eye of the Storm power. Run along the right
wall, snag the rope, and swing to the walkway. Move to the left quickly and run up the
platform then the wall. Jump backward to grab hold of the bar.

Shimmy to the prince’s left to the side of the bar. Swing from the bar to the ledge. Shimmy to
the far right. Jump from ledge to ledge (ignoring the bar switch). Continue around to the right
and leap to another ledge. Traverse this ledge to the right again and drop down. Descend the
ladder to the bottom.

Run along the left wall and grab the rope. Leap from the wall to the platfor m on the right to
find an artwork chest. Crush the birds that attack. Leap to the curtain and slide down. You’re
now at the bottom of the garden hall. Exit through the door on the opposite side. Drink from
the water to replenish health if needed.

Occasionally you’ll need to pull down a switch to open a door.

Retrace your steps back to the central hall. You don’t need to hit the switches to create the
flooring. You can just run through the recess and hop up the ledges on the opposite side.
Avoid the traps and return to the central hall. Drop down the ledges to the center walkway.
The Dahaka arrives--he’s found you in the past--and ends up killing the sandwraith.

When you regain control, proceed toward the Hourglass Chamber. Save your game on the
way. Bypass the pole traps and spinning blades you have previously. When you reach the gap,
walk to the edge to trigger the pole trap. Run along the left wall and jump to the ledge on the
right. Drop down and shimmy under the higher pole trap when the lower pole trap moves
toward your start position.

The throne room is now open. A surprise waits inside.

You find Kaileena in the Hourglass Chamber. After the prince attempts to woo Kaileena away
from the palace, she proceeds into the throne room. Save your game at the fountain before
entering the opened room.

The Empress

And now you discover the Empress’ true identity. Kaileena isn’t that damsel in distress you
thought she was. After a brief cut scene, you engage the Empress in battle. The Eye of the
Storm power is your best ally during the fight. Invoke the power then unleash a series of
primary and secondary weapon combinations. Block the Empress’ attacks (though she can
still shove you around pretty well) and repeat the Eye of the Storm assault once the power
expires.

Utilize your Eye of the Storm power to aid in your battle against The Empress.

After exhausting a quarter of the Empress’ health, she levitates on a column of fire and
commands a couple unique enemies. Ignore the Empress and focus on the two new foes in the
area. These enemies are susceptible to acrobatic combinations. Repeat acrobatic moves
against the enemies until they’re destroyed; regain some sand from their slain body so you
can return to using the Eye of the Storm power against the Empress. If you need more sand,
search the throne room’s edges for containers holding sand. If you have time to search there
are also a couple artwork chests along the room’s edges.

At a quarter health the Empress returns to her pillar of fire and two more enemies enter.
Eliminate them in similar fashion as before. Regain some sand and crush the Empress one last
time using the Eye of the Storm power.

After victory, the prince decides to leave the island. He’s changed his fate...or so it seems,
until the Dahaka appears behind him.

The Long Way Home

Objective: Leave the Island (Present).

The Dahaka gives chase once again. Follow the moves below to evade the Dahaka’s grasp:

1) Run into the cavern and take a right turn.

2) Leap the first gap.

3) Run along the left wall over the second gap.

4) Take the right turn.

5) Run along the left wall to reach the walkway below.

6) Jump at the gap and grab the bar.

7) Swing from bar to bar and then onto the next walkway. Swing and release in one motion.

8) Turn the corner and run along the left wall to the rope.

9) Swing on the rope and release to continue along the wall.

10) You reach a curtain automatically and slide to the floor.

11) Enter the room.

You’re basically trapped inside a tomb with the Dahaka lurking outside. After some
reflection, you regain control of the prince. Search along the room’s edge for an artwork
chest.

Ascend the staircase on the other side of the room to trigger the Dahaka’s arrival. Use the
following moves to evade him:

1) Run along the right wall and leap to the ledge with the barrels.

2) Break a couple barrels and run past.

3) Run along the left wall and grab the bar.

4) Swing from bar to bar to the next path. Perform one motion to move quickly.

5) Run along the right wall to the rope.

6) Swing on the rope, let go, run along the wall, and leap to the opposite ledge.

7) Bust the barrel on the right side and run along the right wall. Leap to the opposite ledge.

8) Run down the corridor and jump to the bar switch.

9) Swing through the wall of water quickly.

Upon evading the Dahaka, pull out the stone blocks to raise the middle platform.

Jump to the ledge on the left. Grab hold of the large stone block and pull it out. This lowers
your platform and raises a platform in the room’s center.

Return up the stairs and take a right. Run along the left wall to trigger the Dahaka’s return.
Use the following moves to evade him a second time:

1) At the next gap, run along the left wall then jump to the bar on the right side.

2) Swing from bar to bar to the next hallway.

3) Jump the gap and go to the right.

4) Leap to the bar switch.

5) Swing through the wall of water quickly.

Jump up to the ledge on the left wall. Shimmy across the ledges to the block on the far
platform. Pull the block out to raise the middle platform again.

Return up the staircase a third time. Take a right at the first turn and run along the left wall to
trigger the Dahaka a final time. Evade the beast using the following moves:

1) At the next gap, run along the left wall then jump to the bar on the right side.

2) Swing from bar to bar to the next hallway.

3) Jump the gap and go straight.

4) Roll under the rock.

5) Run along the right wall to the rope.

6) Swing on the rope, run along the right wall, and grab the bar.

7) Swing on the bar to the walkway.

8) Turn left and run to the wall.

9) Run up a side wall and rebound jump to the top.

10) Roll under the debris.

11) Run up a side wall and rebound jump to the top.

12) Run along the right wall and swing across two ropes to the bar.

13) Swing from bar to bar to the walkway.

14) Jump the first gap.

15) Run along the left wall and jump to the curtain. Slide down.

16) Go to the prince’s left and take the first right.

17) Roll under the debris.

18) Run along the left wall and jump to the ledge on the right.

19) Follow the corridor around to the left.

20) Roll under the debris.

21) Jump to the bar switch.

22) Swing through the wall of water quickly.

Use the ledges to climb up the middle platform.

Jump up to the ledge and navigate it to the large stone block. Pull the block out to complete
the puzzle and raise the middle platform completely.

Approach the middle platform and use the side ledges to reach the top. You’ll have to shimmy
along the side to find more ledges. At the top, jump to the bar in front of the wall of water and
swing through. Save your game at the fountain.

You Cannot Change Your Fate

You’re now in the catacombs. Break open the artwork chest on the left side of the hall. A
quick glance at your Lion Sword reveals it isn’t in good shape. The Empress mentioned she
cursed that sword so perhaps it has finally succumbed. It’s much less effective against
enemies now. You may try and avoid enemies completely by just running beyond them.

Objective: Return to the Throne Room (Past).

Leap from beam to beam to cross this dark room.

When you’ve reached the gap, proceed to run along the right wall to the far beam. Walk over
to the left side and defeat the enemies. Run along the left wall to the next beam. Cross it to the
platform and face off against most enemies. Drop off the edge and shimmy to the left and
reach the beam. Leap from beam to beam. A group of enemies waits on the next platform; it’s
an excellent opportunity to use an area effect power or even simply the Eye of the Storm.

Run up the right wall and jump back to the ladder. Climb the ladder and jump to the next
ladder. Jump to the niche and shimmy to the right to the passage. You reach the prison and
spot a new sword far below. Save your game at the fountain on the right.

A Throne and a Mask

Proceed down the hall and spot the enemies. Your weak sword will certainly cause problems.
Use sand tank attacks or slow time and evade or attack. The acrobatic enemies are the
toughest to battle with your underpowered and quite broken weapon. Maneuver through the
hall and walk out onto the beam.

Not all of these beams will remain intact as you walk across.

While walking on the beam, take the first left. An acrobatic enemy drops down. When she
charges your position, jump to avoid the attack and hit the attack button to knock her off.

Take the next right and battle another acrobat while still on the beam. Follow the beam
around to the right and walk to the edge. Leap to the far beam. Walk straight to the wall. Turn
left and run along the right wall. You’re attacked during the trip so to avoid being knocked off
you must hit attack as you reach the acrobatic foe. You’ll knock her off and continue to the
far platform.

Run along the left wall twice to reach the curtain. Slide down the curtain to the bottom. As
you automatically approach the sword, the pesky Dahaka intervenes and sends the sword
flying. Use the following moves to avoid the Dahaka’s pursuit:

1) Run forward and descend the staircase to the left.

2) At the bottom of the stairs, run along the left wall to cross the gap.

3) Navigate through the barrels (don’t take time to destroy them).

4) Turn right and descend the stairs.

5) Turn left and run along the right wall.

6) Run through the wall of water ahead.

Plenty of blades block this staircase. Hug the right wall as you move up the stairs and wait for
the blades to move out of the way.

Activate the time travel portal using the four switches. Step into the portal. Along the way you
receive a new sand power, the Wind of Fate. It’s a stronger ground area-effect attack.

Exit the portal. Run along the left wall when the pole traps move away. Ascend the stairs and
roll under the spinning blade. Proceed up the next staircase and avoid the blades. Just hug the
right wall and wait for each blade to move out of the way.

Leap to the crusher then across to the opposite ledge. Continue up the stairs and avoid the
blades and pole trap. Find the floor switch up the next staircase. Enter the next room and find
the sword resting in the room’s center. It’s the Scorpion Sword. This new weapon has the
ability to break certain walls (such as boarded up doors or cracked walls).

Find the Scorpion Sword in the center of the room.

You’re ability to test the Scorpion Sword out against enemies fairly soon--a bunch of enemies
pour into the room. Defeat them all with acrobatic combo maneuvers (grab a secondary
weapon after killing an enemy).

Exit through an open doorway on the other side. Avoid the pole trap then roll under the next
one. You reach a boarded up door; test out your new Scorpion Sword. Hold the attack button
against the door to bust it apart.

Run up the small staircase to the lever. Move the lever clockwise 180 degrees to open a new
door--and unleash a tough new enemy. These enemies battle much like the others; they
simply block better and are much more durable. The best way to combat them is using the
Eye of the Storm and unleashing a variety of primary and secondary weapon combinations.
There’s also a short column to aid in your fight maneuvers. Search the small open room for an
artwork chest.

The Scorpion Sword has the unique ability to break through


Rotate the lever to open a new
weak walls and doors. route.

Find the open door in the back left corner of the room. Pull out the crate and drag it onto the
floor switch. This opens a door on the opposite wall. Jump to the ladder and descend. Invoke
the Eye of the Storm to crush the enemies and roll under the blade trap in the hall.

Roll under the spinning blades as you navigate the hallway. Reach another boarded up door.
Charge your Scorpion Sword and attack to break the door.

Find the artwork chest inside one of the cells.

Break open containers in the next room to recover some sand. Rotate the lever 180 degrees
clockwise to unleash some enemies. The floor switch in the room controls floor spikes if you
need assistance--though it’s nothing the Eye of the Storm can’t obliterate (though save at least
one tank). Find the wall switch in the open room on the right. Run up the wall to hit the
switch. Activate the Eye of the Storm to reach the open door on the opposite side of the room.

There are more enemies in the next chamber. Slow down time using the Eye of the Storm and
use your primary and secondary weapon combinations to slaughter them. Break open the
artwork chest before leaving.

In the next chamber, rotate the lever 180 degrees clockwise. Save your game at the revealed
fountain. Run along the left or right wall then rebound jump up to the ledge. Rebound jump
up again until you reach the room overhead.

Battle the golem creature once more; the tactics remain the same.

You must battle a hideous looking golem within this chamber. Fortunately you already know
the tactics necessary. Strike the back of the golem’s legs. Roll around to dodge the golem’s
attacks. When the golem drops down, use the action button to run up its back. Activate the
Eye of the Storm power and repeatedly strike at the golem’s cranium. While you’re on its
back, the golem will try and toss you off. Move that direction when the golem lowers a
shoulder. Repeat the tactic until the golem is dead.

Break the containers to replenish sand. You can also find a weapon rack in here. Go through
the large open passage and ascend the ladder in the left corner. Find an artwork chest in the
small room. There’s also a wall switch here. Run up the wall to hit the switch then scamper
through the open door. Eliminate the tough enemies here using the Eye of the Storm to gain
the upper hand.

A breakable wall leads to another life upgrade. Good thing you have the Scorpion Sword!

LIFE UPGRADE: There are a couple breakable walls here. Break apart the boarded door on
the right and the cracked wall in the back left corner. The first room contains a wall switch.
Run up the wall to hit that switch then activate the Eye of the Storm power. Quickly run to the
other opened passage; the switch opened a door at its rear. Get through before it closes.
Follow the hall up stairs; roll under the pole traps. Use the Eye of the Storm to bypass the next
set of blades and pole traps. Roll over the floor spikes toward the end of the hall where you’ll
find another life upgrade. Retrace your steps back into the prison.

Exit through the opened passage across from the entrance. Follow the hall to the end. Run up
the back wall and jump to the beam overhead. Leap to the ledge on the wall and to the higher
beam. Jump again to the ledge on the left and leap again to the higher beam. Reach the upper
room and drink from the fountain on the left to save your progress.

Run up the side wall from the fountain and leap to the overhead beam. Walk to the opposite
side of the room and underneath the shorter overhead beam. Leap toward the wall then back
to the overhead beam. Jump to the next beam then perform the same action again: rebound off
the wall to the higher beam. Ascend the staircase, defeat a couple enemies, and enter
Kaileena’s library.

Pull the bookcases out to create walls to rebound jump from.

Hop over the table and defeat the enemies on the other side. Go to the far end of the area and
enter the alcove containing the lever. Rotate the lever counter-clockwise to open a new route.
Move inside and find the wall switch. Run up the wall and pull the switch down, which opens
another door. Return to the lever and rotate it clockwise to reopen the other passage. Roll
under the closing door that’s between the two alcoves. If you need extra time, use the Eye of
the Storm power.

Climb the ladder and battle the acrobatic foes at the top. Use Eye of the Storm if available.
Find the artwork chest to the left. Go around to the right side. You’ll battle additional
acrobatic foes throughout the walkway. Reach the back room and face more enemies. Locate
the handles on the bookshelves. Pull out each shelve. Search containers here for sand.

Find the artwork chest among the debris.

Stand between the pulled bookcases and run up one side and rebound jump to the top. Run
from the top of the right bookcase along the left wall to the bar. Turn around and swing to the
overhead beam. Jump to the next beam. Walk toward the room’s center and jump to the bar.
Swing form the bar to the wall ledges. Climb the ledges and traverse them to the right. Get
onto the next beam and drop into the room filled with debris. Find the artwork chest inside.

Walk onto the next balcony. Get onto the left ledge and jump up. Jump back to the balcony
railing. While on the railing, dodge the enemy attack and counter to knock her off. Walk
around to the right on the railing and jump to the second balcony.

The path in the upper right corner of this screen leads to a life upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE: While on the second balcony railing, walk to the far right edge. Jump to
the ledge on the wall. Drop off and shimmy to the right. Leap up into the entrance. Walk onto
the beam then jump to the ledge. Drop to the floor. Descend the stairs and run along the right
wall to move over the pole trap. Duck under the next pole trap and roll over the floor spikes.
Activate the Eye of the Storm for assistance. When you reach the next staircase, you need to
run along the wall to avoid the low pole trap. Reach the life upgrade at the end of the hall.
Retrace your steps back into the library and onto the second balcony railing.

Follow these beams to the exit.

While on the second balcony railing, go to the far left side and leap to the platform. Get onto
the beam and defeat the enemy. Wait until she attacks then jump and counter. Walk out onto
the short beam and leap to the opening. Walk onto the beam and jump to the next girder.
Continue through the next hall jumping beam to beam. Drop out of the room next to the save
game fountain.

Walk to the end of the hall. Run along the right wall to the bar. Swing for bar to bar while
avoiding the pole trap. In the next hall, turn left and run along the right wall to bypass the gap.
Ascend the stairs and run along the left wall to bypass the next gap.

Defeat some exploding beasts then bust open the damaged door at the end of the hall. You’re
in familiar looking territory--it’s the mechanical tower. Walk onto the bridge and hop up to
the ledge above. Face the fast moving mechanism. Walk out onto the beam. Slow time with
the Eye of the Storm then jump through. Save at the fountain.

Drop off the right ledge. Descend the ledge to the bottom. Run through the chamber where
you fought the golem previously (just ignore him if he’s here or fight him if you want) and go
around the back left side. Run up the wall to the ledge. Traverse the ledges to the left and up.
Drop onto solid ground to the upper left. Eliminate the enemies and continue through the traps
you’ve bypassed previously. Reach the central hall and descend the ledges to the middle path.

Backtrack to this broken gate. You now have the ability to smash it open and find the nearby
life upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE: If you don’t mind some backtracking, there’s a life upgrade that you
couldn’t get previously. It’s behind a broken gate that can be broken through with the
Scorpion Sword. Rotate the central hall’s lever so it points away from the Hourglass
Chamber. Ascend the ledges on the right side of the hall (facing away from the Hourglass
Chamber) and use the columns to reach the ledges on the opposite side. Traverse the ledges to
the upper balcony. Continue through the trap-filled hallways to the larger room. Hop onto the
base of the column on the right side and use the bars to get higher. You’ve been this direction
before so follow the route you used previously. Ascend the room using the bars and beams.
You’ll land on a platform with a broken gate; spot the crate just beyond the gate. Break the
gate with the Scorpion Sword. Pull the crate out of the room and against the right wall (don’t
forget the artwork crate inside the small room). Climb onto the crate and run up the right wall.
Jump backward and rebound to reach the upper ledge. Run up the wall to hit the switch; slow
time and roll under the door. Bypass the traps using the Eye of the Storm as needed. Return to
the previous room and retrace your path to the central hall.

From the central hall, proceed to the Hourglass Chamber. If you have followed this walk-
through or have collected all nine life upgrades, you’ll find a special reward inside the
Hourglass Chamber--the best sword in the game. It’s the Water Sword. Grab it if it’s there; if
not, backtrack and find the remaining life upgrades if you wish. Ascend the stairs and find the
throne room door closed.

The wall behind the throne is breakable.

Instead find the open passage on the left side. Slow time if necessary with Eye of the Storm
then run along the left wall and jump to the platform on the left. Jump across the next gap and
ascend the stairs into the throne room. Clear out the throne room of any chests you missed or
containers to gather sand. Walk to the throne and use the Scorpion Sword to break open a new
passage.

Activate this new time travel portal using the four switches. Travel through time and receive a
new sand tank. Save your game at the fountain.

Objective: Get the Mask (Present).

Exit into the sacred caves. Defeat the new dog-like beasts. Run up the ledge on the left. Run
along the right wall to the far ledges. As you run, smack the creature to clear the path. While
on the top platform, run up the wall to the ledge. Shimmy left and jump to the entrance.
Follow the hall to the gap. Drop into the water and grab the niche on the left side. Shimmy up
to the other side. Snag a weapon from the rack on the right. Jump down into the large
chamber. Fight the shadow and cave beasts inside.

Cross the chamber to the opposite walkway. Leap onto the path and save your game at the
fountain. Roll under the door on the right. Run along the left wall to cross the gap. Battle
more cave beasts and break open containers for some sand.

Hit the floor switch at the end of the hall to extend the platform. Run along the right wall to
the platform then continue along the right wall and leap to the column. Position your back to
the wall and leap toward the wall. Rebound jump up to the top of the column. Walk toward
the wall then jump to the bar. Swing and hit the wall switch then jump back to the bar. This
extends another platform. You must work quickly because it will disappear. Use Eye of the
Storm if needed.

The platforms won’t remain extended for long. Use the Eye of the Storm power as needed.

Return to the top of the column then leap to the new extended platform. Quickly jump to the
bar. Swing from the bar to the next wall switch. Once again, you must work quickly. Rebound
off the switch to the upper bar. Swing from the bar to the newly extended platform (use Eye
of the Storm to slow time if you need the assistance). From the platform run along the right
wall to the ledge and pull yourself up. Leap to the button and back; it extends a platform to
the left. Quickly traverse the ledge left and leap to the platform. If you need the time, invoke
Eye of the Storm.

Run along the right wall to the bar. Swing from the bar and rebound off the wall into the
curtain. Near the bottom, jump backward to the walkway. Defeat the cave beasts then break
the cracked wall with the Scorpion Sword. Cross the gap running along the right wall.

You’ve found the mask of the sandwraith.

On the balcony, run along the right wall and grab hold of the ledge. Shimmy around to the
right. Cross the doorway and continue to shimmy around to the left. Leap to the adjacent
balcony. Cross the gap by running along the right wall. Ride the curtain down to the bottom.
Turn around and spot the mask. Approach the mask to automatically wear it. You now
discover the identity of the sandwraith.

Your abilities alter somewhat as the sandwraith. You automatically regain sand tanks, which
is extremely powerful. Consider using Eye of the Storm in each combat situation to gain an

upper hand on your enemies. If you’re out of sand, wait a bit for the tanks to replenish. The
downside is that the sandwraith’s health slowly decreases over time. You won’t die but your
health can deplete until you’re nearly dead. Use every fountain on sight and return to
fountains if they’re close by and you need health.

Objective: Return to the Access Hall (Past).

Crush the cave beasts that enter. Run up the back right wall and leap backward to the bar.
Swing from bar to bar then to the wall and rebound off to the column. Leap from the column
to the opposite wall and grab hold of the niche. Shimmy to the right and finally drop onto the
ledge. Jump backward to the beam.

Take advantage of the sandwraith’s abilities and use Eye of the Storm frequently.

Roll under the pole traps. At the next gap, wait until the pole trap moves away then run along
the left wall and leap to the ledge on the right. Roll under the pole trap and continue.

Drop off the next edge. Shimmy around to the beam. There are dangerous blade traps running
along the wall here. When the bottom blade moves close to your position, leap to the next
beam and drop and hang on so the blade passes overhead. When the blade moves to the left,
pull up and leap to the next beam.

Traverse the beam to the right and into the hall. Invoke the Eye of the Storm to roll past the
blades. Walk through the wall of water into the time travel portal. Save your game at the
fountain.

A Second Chance

Activate the time travel portal using the four wall switches. Walk onto the portal to travel
through time. You are rewarded with a new attack, the Cyclone of Fate--it’s the strongest
ground attack.

Exit the portal. Use the Eye of the Storm to bypass the blades. Walk out onto the beam. Both
blades work on this wall trap. Wait until the blades move away from your position to jump to
the next beam. Slow time with Eye of the Storm for help. Duck under the blades and wait for
them to both pass overhead.

This pole trap is so low you need to drop of the edge and shimmy underneath it.

Leap to the next beam then the ledge on the left wall. Shimmy to the right to the next
walkway. At the pole trap, drop off the side of the edge and shimmy underneath the pole.
Leap up to the ledge on the wall. Jump across to the opposite wall when the blades have
moved away. Dodge the blades by dropping down. Traverse the ledge over solid ground and
continue on.

Roll under the pole traps then leap across the gap. Find the save fountain here to replenish
health and save progress. Break open the artwork chest on the other side of the room.

Invoke the Eye of the Storm to maximize your attack potential against the gryphon.

Walk out into the large chamber. As you walk across the chamber’s center, a huge gryphon
attacks from above. Attack the beast when he’s on the ground. The Eye of the Storm is a
powerful tool. When the beast stalks the ground, invoke the Eye of the Storm power and
assault the creature repeatedly. Roll to dodge the creature’s swipes and attacks. Spend your
sand tanks on the Eye of the Storm ability. If you exhaust all sand, hit the creature when you
can until you replenish a tank and can invoke Eye of the Storm again.

Cross the chamber and leap onto the walkway on the opposite side. Grab hold of the column
on the right. Shimmy around to the right. Jump to the wall then rebound up to the upper
platform. Jump back to the left and grab hold of the edge. Shimmy around to the left and over
to the platform and doorway.

Run along the right wall and leap off to the bar. Swing on the bar and land on the curtain.
Slide down. Near the bottom, jump backward to the lower bar. Swing to another curtain and
ride it down. Drop onto the ledge. Move into the passage to the left.

Work your way through the garden.

Invoke the Eye of the Storm to bypass the fast blades. Leap up onto the next ledge and pull up
when the blade moves out of the way. Run up the next wall and pull up while the pole trap
remains at its highest position. The next hall contains a low pole trap. To get past, stand in the
narrow space on the left side of the hall between the column and pole trap. Run up the column
opposite the pole trap and jump backward over the pole. Follow the hall outside into the
garden area.

Walk out onto the beam. Go to the right side. Leap to the next beam. Cross it to the walkway
ahead of you. Descend the ramp ahead to find an artwork chest.

Find an artwork chest at the bottom of the ramp.

Go up the ramp and press the floor switch to open the door. Follow the walkway around to the
right. Pull up onto the higher walkway at the end of the route. Eliminate the enemies here.
You’re back in the garden hall. You can retrace your steps out of the garden hall and back to
the central hall.

Leave through the passage in the back corner. There’s a fountain just below; use it if needed.
Run along the left wall to the platform. Run along the left wall again over the blades. When
you’re back outside, run along the left wall and avoid the blades. Descend the ladder. Turn
left and shimmy across the ledges to the next passage.

Follow the passage to the ladder. Use it to jump to the switch. Pull it down to open the door.
Invoke Eye of the Storm to roll under the door in time. At the balcony, hang off the ledge and
swing from bar to bar to the far platform. Go to the last row (with the wall switch). Run along
the left wall, grab the rope, and then swing to the far side. Run up to the wall switch and press
it. Invoke the Eye of the Storm. Return across the rope and up the platform on the left. Run up
the platform then the wall. Jump backward to grab hold of the bar.

Shimmy to the prince’s left to the side of the bar. Swing from the bar to the ledge. Shimmy to
the far right. Jump from ledge to ledge (ignoring the bar switch). Continue around to the right
and leap to another ledge. Traverse this ledge to the right again and drop down. Descend the
ladder to the bottom.

Run along the left wall and grab the rope. Leap from the wall to the platfor m on the right to
find an artwork chest. Crush the birds that attack. Leap to the curtain and slide down. You’re
now at the bottom of the garden hall. Exit through the door on the opposite side. Drink from
the water to replenish health if needed.

Retrace your steps back to the central hall. You don’t need to hit the switches to create the
flooring. You can just run through the recess and hop up the ledges on the opposite side.
Avoid the traps and return to the central hall. When you arrive you spot the Empress and
Shadhee in conversation below.

The Path of the Sandwraith

Objective: Find a Way to the Throne Room (Past)

There’s no way down into the central hall from here. Instead, turn around and return toward
the garden hall. Defeat the enemies in the hall and roll under the spinning blades. You’ll reach
a floor switch. Before activating, run into the recess to the end to find an artwork chest (and
some containers holding sand). Return to the switch. Activate the switch then invoke the Eye
of the Storm power. This provides the time to run across the flooring added by the switch.

Explore the next recess for another container holding sand. At the edge, run up the right wall
and jump backward to the bar. Shimmy to the right so you can swing to the next bar and
finally the switch. Jump and hit the switch and drop down. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power
when you land. Run along the new flooring to the save fountain and save your game.

Follow the hallway into the garden hall. There are several guards patrolling the area. Take the
time to eliminate them. Drink from the pools to replenish health.

From the entrance, find the ladder just to the left. Climb it to the top and fight your old friend,
the guy made of birds. Use an acrobatic combination to send him flying...but he’s still close
by. Climb another ladder on the right to face him again. Perform another acrobatic combo to
send him away again. Turn around and leap to the next platform. Climb the ladder here. Leap
from the top to the bar and swing to the walkway below. Defeat a couple more enemies.

Face the middle row and run along the right wall to the rope. Swing from the rope and
continue along the right wall to the entrance. Defeat the birdman once again. Proceed down
the hall. Drop off the back ledge then jump to each ladder as you move down. Follow the hall
to the time travel portal. Activate the portal using the four switches then travel through time.
Save your game at the fountain.

Exit the portal and follow the hallway until the screen turns to a familiar sepia tone. It’s the
Dahaka. He grabs you and tosses you into a pit. Fortunately it’s filled with water; take a drink
to replenish your health.

Wade through the hall. Roll under the pole and blade traps. If you suffer any damage, just
take a drink. Pull up onto the ledge on the far end. As you run along the left wall, press the
attack button to swipe the acrobatic enemy off. Eliminate the enemies on the next platform.

Run along the right wall to the rope then the platform. Run along the right wall again to the
curtain. Jump backward to the platform. Turn slightly to the right and jump to the larger
walkway below. Eliminate the enemies here using the Eye of the Storm power.

Walk to the back of the room and pull up onto the ledge on the right. Run up the left wall and
rebound jump to the top. Grab hold of the first ledge then continue to rebound jump up to the
next ledge on the column. Shimmy to the left then pull up onto the beam. Traverse the beam
to the other side; when the acrobatic enemy attacks, jump then counter immediately. At the
end of the beam, jump up and grab hold of the column. Pull up and jump to the highest ledge.
Jump back to the bar. Swing to the next column. Shimmy to the left and jump backward to the
platform in the corner.

Run up the block in the corner then rebound jump to the walkway above. Eliminate the
enemies on the walkway. Run up the wall to activate the switch; invoke Eye of the Storm then
roll under the closing door. Move through the hall and around to an alcove on the left. Climb
the ledges on the right side. After you reach the top of the room, run along the right wall and
onto the far corner. Climb more ledges to the next passage at the top. Roll past the floor
spikes and pole traps into the time travel portal. Save your game and use the portal.

Avoid the pole traps as you exit. At the next turn, run along the right wall to reach the rope.
Jump to the opposite rope. Swing and run along the left wall to the far walkway. Avoid the
blades along the wall; invoke Eye of the Storm as needed.

Shimmy underneath the pole traps. Drop down the ledges to the bottom of the room. Avoid
the floor spikes with a couple rolls. Leap to the bar then drop down to the lower bar and
finally the bottom of the room.

Exit onto the balcony. Drop off and leap to the next balcony. Use the Eye of the Storm power
to battle the acrobatic enemies. Follow the bridge around to the save game fountain. Find the
floor switch to the left of the fountain. Run back toward the fountain until a cut scene
interrupts your advance. You’re over the sacrificial altar and spot Kaileena and Shadhee
engaged in battle below...makes sense now doesn’t it?

In the next corridor, run along the right wall to avoid the pole trap; be sure you move
underneath the pole trap overhead. At the next gap, run along the right wall to the rope (and
over the pole trap); climb up then jump to the opposite rope and swing to the far platform.
Invoke Eye of the Storm so you can get through the blades easier.

Run along the left wall and avoid the blades. Roll when you hit the floor to avoid the spinning
blade. Run along the right wall and through the blades to the fountain. Save your game. Roll
through the hole.

This area is very unstable. Invoke the Eye of the Storm power to give you more time to
traverse its dangers.

This is one of the tougher sequences in the game. One mishap and you’ll restart at the
fountain and have to accomplish some tough tasks again. Snag a secondary weapon from the
rack if needed. Use Eye of the Storm to thrash the enemies present at this first platform. If you
suffer damage, return to the fountain.

Move through the hole in the wall and drop off the edge. Drop onto the curtain. Ride it down
and jump backward and the bottom onto the bar. This area is tough because these structures
(your handles) are unstable and fall within moments.

Use the Eye of the Storm power to help you get through the area. Time will slow down, which
gives you a few extra moments to traverse the dangers. Drop to the bar below and quickly
swing to the top of the mast. Quickly rotate slightly to the left so your back is to the next
mast. Press the jump button to reach the adjacent mast.

On the second mast, rotate slightly to the right so your back is to the third mast. Hit the jump
button to leap to the final mast. Rotate around to the left so your back is to the walkway. Leap
to solid ground.

Crush the enemies using the Eye of the Storm power. Break the containers in the back corner.
Run up the wall and jump backward to the branch. Turn around and swing to the ledge. Walk
right to the edge of the wall. Run along the right wall to the rope. Continue across to the
curtain. Slide down and near the bottom jump to the bar. Swing to the next bar. You’re now
pointed toward a wall. Swing toward the wall then rebound jump up to the higher ledge.

Battle more enemies on this higher ledge; use the Eye of the Storm to gain a quick upper
hand. Crack open the artwork chest. Hang off the edge and drop down. Shimmy until you’re
over the curtain. Drop onto the curtain and slide down. Jump to the bar.

Time is of the essence again; these handles aren’t stable. Slow down time with the Eye of the
Storm power. Swing from the bar to the wall and rebound off so you land on the higher bar.
Swing on the upper bar to the mast. Get onto the column (if you don’t land there) and rotate
so your back faces the next mast. Press the jump button to reach the next mast. Rotate to the
left slightly and jump to the wooden walkway.

The walkway isn’t stable either. Work quickly!

Unfortunately the walkway is just as unstable as the ship masts. Invoke the Eye of the Storm
power for assistance. Quickly run across the walkway and around the left corner. Leap to the
next walkway. Run along the left wall and jump to the bar. Take your time now; the bar won’t
break. Swing to the walkway and run up the back wall; jump backward to the upper walkway.

Run along the right wall and press the attack button to strike the acrobatic enemy off of the
wall. Keep moving along the wall to the next ledge. Break open the artwork chest and smash
through the cracked wall using your sword.

Invoke the Eye of the Storm power to avoid the blades; as you run along the left wall, another
acrobatic enemy attempts to knock you down. Hit the attack button just as she approaches to
send her falling. Roll under the spinning blade. Go to the right corner and rebound jump up
the wall over the blades on the left side.

Find this artwork chest in an alcove after an encounter with the prince.

The blades around the corner are moving very quickly. Take advantage of the sandwraith’s
plentiful sand to slow time with the Eye of the Storm power. Run along the left wall and jump
to the right to reach the ledge. Drop down to avoid the blade as you move to the far passage.
Follow the hall around to have another chance encounter with...yourself!

Before moving forward, turn around and find an artwork chest in the alcove on the right side.
Return to the edge and leap to the column. Rotate around and jump to the opposite column.
Jump onto the passageway and save your game at the fountain.

Mirrored Fates

Proceed around the corner. Run along the wall between the pole traps. Navigate the next two
pole traps then bash the guards in the next room; invoke Eye of the Storm to rip them apart.
Pass a series of traps using Eye of the Storm. Roll over the floor spikes and under the blades.
Drop off the edge at the end. You must drop from ledge to ledge while avoiding the blades
below. Activate the Eye of the Storm and run along the right wall between the pole traps.
Follow the hall to the next room. It’s the foundry.

There’s a crate behind the column with the wall switch.

Eliminate the enemies within the foundry; slow down time to give your attacks a huge
advantage. Beware of the spinning blades on the left side; there’s also a wall switch that
activates some floor spikes. Search behind that wall switch to uncover an artwork crate.
There’s a second crate in an alcove on the other side.

After clearing the foundry, go to the back right corner of the room and ascend the ladder.
There are four lever platforms. Your goal is to adjust the levers to adjust the pipe system
overhead so you can use the hot steel to burn the exit platform supports.

From the start platform, run along the left wall and avoid the blade. Swing from bar to bar to
the next platform. Ignore the lever and continue across the beam to the right side. Run along
the left wall and between the blades to reach the last platform.

Adjust the levers in the foundry to fix the pipes together.

Rotate this first lever 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Run along the right wall to return to the
previous platform. Cross the beam to the next platform. Rotate this lever 180 degrees
clockwise. Swing from the bars along the right wall and return to the initial platform. Rotate
this lever 180 degrees counter-clockwise to complete the pipe sequence.

The hot liquid destroys the exit platform’s supports. Run up the platform and the wall to reach
the exit. Save your game at the fountain.

Slow time with Eye of the Storm to bypass the blades. To evade the fast moving pole trap, run
up one of the side walls as the pole approaches. Jump back so you leap over the pole as it
moves underneath.

Climb the ladder. Jump backward to the ledge when the blades separate. Ascend the ledges
carefully and avoid the blades (use Eye of the Storm if necessary). Reach the upper passage.
Rotate the lever clockwise 90 degrees to open a new passage.

Take advantage of the sandwraith’s ability to slow time nearly at will when trying to get past
traps.

Just before the pole traps, run up the left wall and leap to the beam overhead. Walk to the end
of the beam and invoke Eye of the Storm to slow the pole traps. Leap to the far beam.
Continue across and drop down on the other side. Hang off the edge and drop down the ledges
while avoiding the blades.

Roll under the blades at the bottom. Run up the dead-end wall and leap to the beam overhead.
Jump into the open passage. You’re back inside the prison. Hang off the edge of the open
passage. Slide down the curtain. Crush the guards below using Eye of the Storm and your
other sand powers.

Exit through the open passage. Run up the back wall and leap to the beam. Jump to the ledge
then back to the higher beam. Continue up to the upper passageway. Save your game at the
fountain.

Run up the side wall from the fountain and leap to the overhead beam. Walk to the opposite
side of the room and underneath the shorter overhead beam. Leap toward the wall then back
to the overhead beam. Jump to the next beam then perform the same action again: rebound off
the wall to the higher beam. Defeat the acrobatic foes in the hall.

Use your sword to break open the door into the library. Go to the first lever and rotate it 90
degrees counter-clockwise. Move into the next area. Defeat more enemies then approach the
next lever and rotate it 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Pull the switch in the back corner. Slow time with Eye of the Storm and return to the lever.
Rotate it 90 degrees clockwise then roll under the closing door.

Traverse the library as you did before until the Dahaka appears.

Climb the ladder. Make your way to the back corner where you pulled the bookcases from the
wall. Stand between the pulled bookcases and run up one side and rebound jump to the top.
Run from the top of the right bookcase along the left wall to the bar. Turn around and swing
to the overhead beam. Jump to the next beam. Walk toward the room’s center and jump to the

bar. Swing form the bar to the wall ledges. Climb the ledges and traverse them to the right. As
you do, the Dahaka emerges overhead.

Return to the left and ascend the ledges so you reach the beam over the Dahaka. Walk onto
the beam and jump beam to beam across the room. Leap to the ledges at the back corner and
drop down to the bottom. The Dahaka spots you and gives chase. Use the following moves to
evade him:

1) Run along the left wall to the platform.

2) Run along the left wall again and jump to the right.

3) Jump to the bar.

4) Swing from the bar to the staircase.

5) Run up the back wall to the ledge.

6) Drop through the window.

You evade the Dahaka after crossing the bridge. Enter the Mystic Caves and save your game
at the fountain.

Break open the chest on the other side of the gap.

Jump over the next gap. Continue forward and battle the cave beasts. Go up the stairs and
fend off a few shadow beasts. Turn the next corner and run along the right wall to reach the
artwork chest in the back corner.

Drop off the initial edge (across from the chest) and drop down the ledges to the platform
below. Battle the cave beasts before moving onward. Run along the left wall and slash the
cave beast along the way; jump to the platform on the right side.

At the next edge, find the ledge above you to the right. Run up one wall then rebound jump to
the upper ledge. Perform another rebound jump up to the upper ledge. Pull yourself up to the
top.

Turn left and leap to the walkway. Follow it toward the ledge to the right. Pull up. You reach
a closed door with no switch in sight. Defeat the plentiful cave beasts that arrive.

After pressing this switch, invoke Eye of the Storm to slow time during your return trip.

To reach the switch you’ll have to jump from stalactite from stalactite along the cavern’s roof.
Advance to the end of the pathway (beyond all of the cave beasts). Run along the left wall and
jump to the stalactite. Jump to the platform holding the switch. Hit the switch then invoke the
Eye of the Storm to slow time.

Turn around and pull yourself up onto the platform. Run along the left wall and leap to the
stalactite on the right side. Leap from stalactite to stalactite and return toward the door.
Continue to invoke Eye of the Storm as soon as it expires. Drop down and roll under the
closing door.

Drop into the pit and press the floor switch. Slow time with Eye of the Storm and pull
yourself out of the pit. Run through the opened door. Defeat the cave beasts on the bridge.
Bypass the blade traps and fend off a few shadows as you continue down the cave path. At the
bottom of a ramp, run along the left wall and grab hold of the ledge. Move around to the right
and jump backward to another ledge. Move slightly to the left then jump up to a niche.

Shimmy to the left and leap to the other rope so you can get safely across the gap.

Shimmy around to the left then jump backward to another niche. Shimmy to the right and
jump to another walkway. Upon reaching the gap, run along the right wall and land on the
path below. Run again along the next right wall to pass the gap then drink from the fountain
to save your game.

Go to the left. Run along the left wall to the rope. Swing from the first rope and jump to the
ledge on the right side. Shimmy to the left and leap to the second rope. Swing, run along the
wall, and then jump to the right side to land on the ledge. Navigate the ledge into the passage.
You’re back inside the mechanical tower.

The Race to the Throne

Traverse familiar territory back toward the central hall. Go through the room with the
fireplace. Run along the catwalk to spot the prince below--unfortunately a golem tosses you
back into the room with the fireplace.

Exit through the other door. Run along the left wall and smack the exploding beast and get to
the rope. Swing on the rope and jump to the water. Replenish health if needed.

Navigate the water wheel to the far side by rolling through the openings. Jump and grab the
bar. Swing from bar to bar to the ledge. Drop off the edge and slide down the curtain.

Go to the right. Slow time and run through the spokes. Cross the bridge to the opposite side.
Drop off the right side. Go through the open door. Traverse the traps in the next hallways. At
the crusher, use the ledges to get over the pole traps.

Work your way through the mechanical tower to return to the central hall.

At the next chamber, walk out onto the ledge toward the right side. Drop to the ledge then the
beam. Leap to the next beam. Slow time so you can jump past the fast moving mechanism.
Eliminate the exploding beasts when you drop down to the platform.

Pull up onto the short beam on the opposite side. Leap to the alcove ahead. Drop down and
shimmy right to drop down to another ledge. Drop off to the bottom of the structure and spot
a beam to the left. Shimmy over and get on. Jump to the middle platform. Descend the ladder.
Slow time when jumping through the fast moving mechanism.

Go to the right and hang off the side. Drop off the ledges to the ground. Go around to the left
and through the room where you encountered the first golem. Exit the opposite side and jump
up to the ledge. You’ve been here before; you’re just retracing your steps back to the central
hall. Shimmy to the left and jump the ledges to the top. At the top, traverse to the right and
defeat the enemies inside. Continue through the traps and reach the central hall. After the cut
scene (the prince dies...and returns!), use the fountain to save your game.

The Death of a Prince

Retrace your steps to the Hourglass Chamber. You’ve been here several times previously.
Avoid the pole traps by rolling underneath as you move up the staircase. Roll under the
spinning blades. Run along the wall and between the poles.

Traverse this familiar sequence en route to the throne room.

The next gap is far too long to just run along the wall. Plus a couple pole traps appear when
you move to the edge. Wait until the lower pole trap moves away from your position then run
along the left wall. At the end of your run, jump to the ledge on the right side of the corridor.
Depending on where the pole trap is, either walk to the right to avoid damage or leap to the
ledge above and stand above the trap.

Now you must maneuver under the upper pole trap. When the lower pole is behind your
position, drop off the ledge and shimmy to the left. Drop onto the next hallway. Roll under the
spinning blades including another at the top of the stairs. Climb the ladder on the left and
jump backward to the wall switch. Hang on the switch until it drops to open the nearby door.
Drop from the switch and use the Eye of the Storm power to slow time so you can roll into the
Hourglass Chamber.

Save your game inside the Hourglass Chamber. Approach the Hourglass to speak with
Kaileena. This is the time just before the prince fought the Empress Kaileena the first
time...however he’s returned with far more knowledge than he had before. Before you enter
the throne room, save your game again.

The Warrior Within

Objective: Find Empress Kaileena (Present).

Walk into the throne room and find Kaileena inside. The prince launches a preemptive strike
and takes the Empress’ weapons...which she quickly recovers. The prince breaks open the
wall behind the throne and moves into the time travel portal. The resulting chase sends both
into the present.

Step off of the time travel portal and save your game at the fountain. Move through the wall
of water into the sacred caves.

Run up the ledge on the left. Run along the right wall to the far ledges. While on the top
platform, run up the wall to the ledge. Shimmy left and jump to the entrance. Follow the hall
to the gap. Drop into the water and grab the niche on the left side. Shimmy up to the other
side. Jump down into the large chamber and prepare for battle.

If you have not recovered all nine life upgrades, your final battle is against the Empress once
again. As soon as the battle starts, hold block or roll to evade her first attack. Though it’s a
similar battle as before, the Empress does employ a few more tricks. First, she has the ability
to slow time. The best counter is to also slow time! Save your sand tanks exclusively for
invoking the Eye of the Storm power--especially when the Empress slows time. Don’t use
sand tanks on the various ground attacks; your sand is much better served slowing time.

The Empress also creates a couple tornadoes. Dodge and roll to avoid the tornados; you could
also slow time for added help but it’s best to use Eye of the Storm when you are attacking the
Empress. Run from the tornado then roll to the side when the cyclone gets close. You could
also try running in circles. When the tornadoes dissipate, sand is left behind; collect the sand
and add it to your tanks. Resume the attack on the Empress.

If you acquired all life upgrades and picked up the water sword, you fight the Dahaka in the
final battle.

The Empress can block most combinations so it’s best to utilize hit and run assaults. Strike
then roll out of the way; if she blocks an attack, roll to avoid a counter. Use roll to reach her
backside where you can unleash a two-or-three hit combination. Use sand solely for slowing
time, primarily when she slows time.

If you recovered all nine life upgrades and picked up the water sword from the Hourglass
Chamber, the end boss battle changes completely. Instead of the Empress, you battle the
Dahaka!

The fight against the Dahaka is a bit simpler than the fight against the Empress. Once again
use your sand tanks solely for slowing time. Invoke Eye of the Storm so you can assault the
Dahaka’s lower section repeatedly. Roll when the Dahaka attacks and swipes. Repeat! Don’t
use too much sand, though; you’ll need it for the next part of the battle!

You receive a special end game movie for defeating the Dahaka.

At points during the fight, the Empress unleashes her own attack on the beast. Her assault
sends the Dahaka off the cliff where he hangs on for dear life. As soon as this happens,
immediately invoke Eye of the Storm and rush to the Dahaka’s position (straight ahead).
Bombard the Dahaka’s head with attacks. When time returns to normal, slow it down once
again and resume the attack.

When the Dahaka recovers, he returns upright and regains a large chunk of health. That’s why
it’s important to inflict as much damage as possible while the Dahaka hangs onto the edge.
Resume your attack against the Dahaka and dodge its swipes. Save sand until the Empress
knocks the beast off the edge again. Invoke Eye of the Storm and crush the Dahaka!

Defeating the Dahaka instead of the Empress rewards you with an alternate end movie
sequence. So you’ll need to recover all nine life upgrades, recover the water sword from the
Hourglass Chamber, and defeat the Dahaka in the final battle to watch the alternate ending.

Chapter 3 - Life Upgrades
This section reveals all nine life upgrade locations. These locations are also included in the
walk-through section of this game guide.

Level: Damsel in Distress, Area: Sacrificial Altar

You can grab this upgrade after you fight Shadhee at the Sacrificial Altar. Before leaving, go
up the stairs and grab and pull the altar toward the stairs. This opens a secret passage. Follow
the passage to reach your first life upgrade. This increases the prince’s maximum health as
well as restoring your health in the process.

Roll over the floor spikes and dodge the pole traps. Roll under the spinning blades. At the
large gap in the floor, run along the right wall when the blade moves toward the top of the
screen. Roll under the final pole traps to reach the life upgrade.

Level: A Helping Hand, Area: Fortress Entrance

This floor switch opens a grate at the top of the stairs. Slow time to reach the grate before it
closes.

You were at this location early in the game but lacked the ability to get through the grate
before it closed. This is the entry area where you run up the wall and onto the upper level and
use the columns to reach the far side with the staircase.

Look to the left of the staircase find the floor switch. Hit the floor switch and use the newly
acquired Eye of the Storm to slow time. Ascend the stairs and roll under the open grate. Roll
over the floor spikes and past the spinning blade and crusher. Continue around the corner and
similar traps. Roll past each until you reach the hall’s end. Reach the end to automatically
receive your second life upgrade.

Level: The Towers, Area: Central Hall

Make this long leap to reach the passage that leads to a life upgrade.

When you are in the central hall with the Lion Sword and can activate the middle lever, you
can acquire the next life upgrade. Adjust the lever so it points toward the route to the
Hourglass Chamber (the lever closes the gap toward that path).

While you stand at the lock and facing the Hourglass Chamber route, drop onto a platform on
the left side. Hang onto the edge and jump to the left and back to the right repeatedly to safely
descend to the platform below. At the bottom, drop down to another platform below. Turn left
while facing the abyss. Run along the left wall. When you reach the end, press jump and
rebound back and forth up the two walls until you’re at the top. At the top, face the abyss and
spot the entrance just diagonal and below your position. Run and jump to that entrance. Hit
jump just as you reach the edge so you make the distance.

Once inside the hall, roll over the floor spikes and between and under the pole traps. At the
staircase, avoid the spinning blade and run along the right wall to go over the pole. Round the
corner to reach the life upgrade. After gaining the upgrade, return to the central hall. From
your current ledge, jump straight across to the adjacent ledge. Run up the wall and rebound
jump up the two walls until you reach the top. Return to the hall.

Level: Clockworks and Gears, Area: Activation Room

You can recover this life upgrade when you’re in the activation room in the past. You’ll
encounter a golem throwing explosive projectiles from across the room. You can use one of
those projectiles to destroy the door that blocks passage to the life upgrade.

Go to the far left corner of this walkway and stand near the boarded up door. Allow the golem
to toss his explosive projectiles in your direction. When the boarded up door crumbles, go
into the hall. Run past the crushers then roll under the pole traps and over the floor spikes.
Around the next corner, leap onto the crushers and run along the right wall to bypass the pole
trap.

At the next corner, spot the crushers overhead. Run up the left wall and leap to the overhead
crusher as it moves away. Pull up onto the crusher then run along the right wall to bypass the
pole traps. Continue around the corner to find the life upgrade. Return to the activation room
and the save game fountain.

Level: The Water Maiden, Area: Garden

Drop off the edge at this broken railing to find the path to the garden’s life upgrade.

After moving through the area with the maiden statue, look in the front left side to find a
broken railing. Drop off and hold onto the edge. Shimmy to the right on the ledge and drop
down. Run along the left wall to the far platform. Enter the next hallway. Use the ledges to
drop down to the hall below. It’s a long way down.

At the bottom, follow the hall to the blade trap. Roll under the blade and over the floor spikes;
invoke the Eye of the Storm power as needed. Roll under the next pole traps and the spinning
blades to reach another life upgrade. After collecting the upgrade, retrace your path back out
into the garden.

Level: Water and Gardens, Area: Garden Waterworks

Leap to the ledge behind the lever to find this path toward a life upgrade.

While in the Garden Waterworks area of the game, you’ll reach a small room containing a
lever. To get inside the room you rolled underneath a gate. From the lever, locate the ledge in
the back left corner of the room. Hop to the higher walkway and go through the entrance. Roll
over the floor spikes and under the pole traps to reach the life upgrade at the back end. Return
to the lever room when finished.

Level: A Throne and a Mask, Area: Prison

Search the prison’s upper level for a couple breakable walls that lead to a life upgrade.

When you reach the upper cell area of the prison after recovering the Scorpion Sword, find a
couple breakable walls. Break apart the boarded door on the right and the cracked wall in the
back left corner. The first room contains a wall switch. Run up the wall to hit that switch then
activate the Eye of the Storm power. Quickly run to the other opened passage; the switch
opened a door at its rear. Get through before it closes.

Follow the hall up stairs; roll under the pole traps. Use the Eye of the Storm to bypass the next
set of blades and pole traps. Roll over the floor spikes toward the end of the hall where you’ll
find another life upgrade. Retrace your steps back into the prison.

Level: A Throne and a Mask, Area: Library

The path in the upper left corner leads to a life upgrade.

After moving the bookcases, you’ll leap onto some balcony railings. While on the second
balcony railing, walk to the far right edge. Jump to the ledge on the wall. Drop off and
shimmy to the right. Leap up into the entrance. Walk onto the beam then jump to the ledge.
Drop to the floor.

Descend the stairs and run along the right wall to move over the pole trap. Duck under the
next pole trap and roll over the floor spikes. Activate the Eye of the Storm for assistance.
When you reach the next staircase, you need to run along the wall to avoid the low pole trap.
Reach the life upgrade at the end of the hall. Retrace your steps back into the library and onto
the second balcony railing.

Level: A Throne and a Mask, Area: Southern Passage

Return to this gate after you’ve recovered the Scorpion Sword.

You went past this life upgrade very early in the game but had no means to get to it. Once you
return to the central hall with the Scorpion Sword, you can recover the final life upgrade. It’s
behind a broken gate that can be broken through with the Scorpion Sword.

Rotate the central hall’s lever so it points away from the Hourglass Chamber. Ascend the
ledges on the right side of the hall (facing away from the Hourglass Chamber) and use the
columns to reach the ledges on the opposite side. Traverse the ledges to the upper balcony.
Continue through the trap-filled hallways to the larger room. Hop onto the base of the column
on the right side and use the bars to get higher. You’ve been this direction before so follow
the route you used previously. Ascend the room using the bars and beams. You’ll land on a
platform with a broken gate; spot the crate just beyond the gate.

Break the gate with the Scorpion Sword. Pull the crate out of the room and against the right
wall (don’t forget the artwork crate inside the small room). Climb onto the crate and run up
the right wall. Jump backward and rebound to reach the upper ledge. Run up the wall to hit
the switch; slow time and roll under the door. Bypass the traps using the Eye of the Storm as
needed. Return to the previous room and retrace your path to the central hall.

The Reward

Your reward for finding all life upgrades is the water sword. Pick it up in the Hourglass
Chamber.

After recovering all nine life upgrades, proceed to the Hourglass Chamber. It’s just off the
central hall and it’s a room you visit repeatedly throughout the game. There’s a special reward
inside the Hourglass Chamber if you return there with all nine upgrades.

Resting in the room’s center is the strongest primary weapon in the game. It’s the legendary
water sword. Grabbing the sword also changes another significant game element. Recover all
nine life upgrades and pick up the water sword to fight a different boss battle at the end of
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. You’ll also unlock a special end game movie.

Once you recover all nine life upgrades, return to the Hourglass Chamber to find a new item

and the water sword in hand, reach the end of the game and trigger a different boss battle
sequence. Instead of the Empress, you battle the Dahaka. Defeat the Dahaka to watch the
alternate ending!

The hockey stick is found in the central hall.

Hockey Stick: Once you possess the Scorpion Sword that can break walls, return to the
central hall (you’ll automatically move through the area as you complete game objectives).
Adjust the lever so it points toward the Hourglass Chamber route. While you stand at the lock
and facing the Hourglass Chamber route, drop onto a platform on the left side. Hang onto the
edge and jump to the left and back to the right repeatedly to safely descend to the platform
below. At the bottom, drop down to another platform below. Turn left while facing the abyss.
Run along the left wall. When you reach the end, press jump and rebound back and forth up
the two walls until you’re at the top. At the top, face the abyss and spot the entrance just
diagonal and below your position. Run and jump to that entrance. Hit jump just as you reach
the edge so you make the distance. Instead of going through the entrance toward the life
upgrade, look to the right. The wall there is cracked. Break it with the Scorpion Sword to
reveal a hidden secondary weapon: the hockey stick!

Find the bright green sword behind a breakable wall in the Mystic Caves.

Glowing Sword: You’ll find this hidden secondary weapon inside the Mystic Caves. At one
point during your trip through the Mystic Caves, you’ll leap from the stalactites along the
cavern ceiling to reach a door switch. After going through the door, drop into the next pit.
Break open the cracked wall with your sword. Smack the weapon rack and pick up the
glowing green sword. This unique weapon is extremely strong but actually drains your health
after striking an enemy.
