Animal Care in Egypt

A true friend to Egypts mistreated animals
In a place where animals are used for tedious labour, it is not uncommon for humane animal practices to go astray. Animal Care in Egypt (ACE) aims to reduce the number of negligent animal injuries and deaths by educating local people about the correct way to care for livestock. Twelve full-time workers and their volunteers provide free veterinary care for cattle, sheep, donkeys and camels in the surrounding areas of Luxor. Their education program also reaches up to 300 children per week, teaching them not only how to care for animals but also why it is so important to respect all living things.

Wadi Rum
Cruise around a moon-like landscape
The remarkable desert landscape of Wadi Rum is best explored in a 4x4, where youll weave past weather-worn pillars, lunar-like rock formations and windswept sand dunes. In the evening, be protected against the cold with a traditional Bedouin meal and some lively entertainment, all by the warmth of a camp fire. For a truly magical experience, why not sleep outside for an evening of blissful stargazing. Then rise early and hike to the top of a sand dune for a spectacular sunrise over this misshapen desert landscape, so rightly nicknamed the Valley of the Moon.

How to kill time inancient Egypt

Love a good game of skill? Well so did the ancient Egyptians. Senet, one of the oldest board games in the world, was a very popular game back in 3000 BC. By throwing sticks, rolling dice and moving their pawns across a chequered board, slaves and pharaohs alike would whittle away the evening hours by playing this entertaining game.

They aint no turkeys

Turkey has one of the most profitable and substantial food production industries in the world. Since the 1980s, Turkey has been self-sufficient in food production, meaning that it almost never imports agricultural goods from other nations. Known for their production of cherries, chickpeas, pomegranates and olives, it is little wonder Turkish food is always delicious and tastes so fresh.
