We would like to congratulate Mr McManus in gaining a new teaching position at Greenbank Community Special School, where he will be leading science through the school. The governors and I are working to appoint a new teacher to continue the year with the Year 1 children and to ensure that the transition between teachers is as smooth as possible. We would also like to thank Miss Jones who has been working with Year 5 during the term as her final placement for her B.Ed. teacher training degree with the Chester University. We will be continuing to support student teachers by welcoming a teacher into Reception this term. I know she will also benefit from the experiences offered by the school and the children will also gain much from an additional teacher in the classroom. Mrs Hodkinson has also finished her time with the school within her role as Clerk to the Governors. Mrs Hodkinson has taken on a greater role at the University Primary Academy Weaverham (formally Wallerscote Primary School) and we wish her well and thank her for the time she has given to the school. requested from the School Office. I can understand the frustration of many parents over the new law regarding no authorised holiday leave in term times and I know this topic is very much in the news at the moment. Unless the legislation is reconsidered, my hands are very much tied with fulfilling my duties to uphold the law.

Can I remind you that the parents of Year 3 children are warmly invited into school to have lunch with their children next Wednesday (5th March) from 12.00pm. Please complete the slip that has been sent home and money is payable at the school office on the day.

There will be a PTA meeting on Tuesday 4th March at 7.30pm in school to vote in new Chair and Vice Chair...all are very welcome.

Well done and thank you to Sadie in Y6 who raised 120 with her friends selling cakes last half term. Thank you for all your donations which will be sent to the charity Forever Angels so that their work can continue.

As you will be aware, the Government does not allow Headteachers to authorise leave during the term, unless there are exceptional circumstances. It is still a requirement for parents to request any leave (including holidays in term time). As a group of primary and secondary schools, the Weaverham Cluster has now developed a
