Demographics - What ages, gender, and educational backgrounds are represented in the audience? 2. What constitutes the environment of a presentation? Environment - Comfortable and confident enough around the people for the presentation. 3. What does an audience care about more than interesting graphics in a presentation? The audience cares far more about what you are saying than how fascinating your PowerPoint slides appear. 4. How many main points should be in a presentation? There should be three main ideas. 5. One disadvantage of using them is that if your audience has frequently attended PowerPoint presentations, they may recognize a template from a previous experience. 3. What are the three basic kinds of slide layouts? The three basic kind of slide layouts are: Title Slide, Text Slide, and Multimedia slide. 4. What might a multimedia slide contain? A multimedia slide may contain a Table, Chart, Clip art, Picture, Diagram or organizational chart, and/or Media (sound or movie). 5. What is included in the term media? Movies or sound. 6. What purpose does a master slide serve? To keep a consistent look. 7. What can be included on a master slide? Header and footer information such as page numbers is also included on the master slide.

Color in presentations make slides pretty, color can increase learning retention and recall nearly 80 percent, use of color can increase comprehension by more than 70 percent, and color increases willingness to read by up to 80 percent and improves selling efficiency by neatly 85 percent. 9. What options does a color scheme provide? Colors are assigned to the background, the title, and the bulleted text. 10. What colors help keep audience focused? Audiences are better focused if the background is dark and the text and drawings are lighter colors. 11. What are your background choice? Unit 4 Chapter 15 1. What happens when you animate text? Makes text move in some way. 2. What kinds of events occur when you create a slide transition? The transition between slides can be simply moving from one to another or it can be an interesting special effect such as a clockwise spin. 3. What purpose could an animated slide transition serve? Keep the audience engaged.

4. To what do animation schemes apply? Animations schemes apply to text or images that appear on a slide. 5. What options do animation schemes provide? Schemes can be selected as openings, as exits, or for emphasis. 6. What are your choices for text animation? There are many different choices for text animation, but some include "Flying Title" or Text colors. 7. When would you use a subtle effect? Can be used in formal situations. 8. What does setting a motion path let you do? Enables you to create a flying object or text line that moves across your slide in exactly the pattern you want. It has a grabbing effect. 9. What purpose can music serve on a slide? A few bars of music attached to an opening slide can set the mood or tone of your presentation. 10. Besides inserting a sound, what other ways can you use sound? One option is to insert the sound much as you would an image. The second option is to attach sound to an image or text box by using effects options so that the sound plays as the image or text appears on the slide.
