Navigate to “Siebel_Install_Image\\Windows\Client” where you will find 3
Folders-- Siebel_Sample_Database, Siebel_Tools, Siebel_Web_Client.

First Install Siebel Web Client, then Siebel Tools and lastly Siebel Sample Database.

Siebel Web Client Installation

Navigate to
“Siebel_Install_Image\\Windows\Client\Siebel_Web_Client\Disk1\install” and
Double Click the File “oui.exe”.
Follow the Screens below in a sequence—

In the Above Screen Click “Next”—

In the above Screen—Either Accept the Default Location or change the Path and Click

Click “Next” at the above Screen—

Select “English” and Click “Next”—

At this Page, Before Continuing with the installation we need to create a shared folder for
siebel to use it as File System.
Leave the window open and navigate to the Installation Folder you specified in the
beginning. In this case it is “D:\Siebel\8.1”. Create a New Folder with any name,
Preferably like “SiebelFileSys” and Share it with Full Permissions.

Now Click “Next” in the Installation Window to Navigate to the below Screen where you
Select “Developer Web Client” and Click “Next”

Do not give anything in the below Screen. Leave them as it is—Click “Next”

In the Below Screen, Select the Shared Folder you created Earlier—

it looks similar to this Screen— Click “Next”

Finally Click the “Install”

The Installation will start and let it complete successfully—

At around 92% in Internet Explorer window Appears and close the window when you see
“Download is Complete”. Once you close the Window, the Installation resumes and

Installing Siebel Tools

Navigate to “Siebel_Install_Image\\Windows\Client\Siebel_Tools\Disk1\install”
and Double Click “oui.exe”
Click “Next” at the below window

Select “Siebel Business Application Tools” and Click “Next”

Select the Installation Location or leave it default and Click “Next”—

Click “Next” after the pre requisite check window

Select English language and Click “Next”

Select path to Siebel File System—

Click “Next” at the below Screen—

Click “Install” finally

Install Siebel Sample Database

Navigate to “Siebel_Install_Image\\Windows\Client\Siebel_Sample_Database”
and Double Click on “install.exe”
Select “English” and Click “OK”

Click “Next” at below Screen—

Selece “Typical” and For Installation, Browse and select the root folder where you
installed Siebel Web Client.
In this Case it is in the below Screen Shot—

Click “Next”

Click “Next” in the above to Start the Installation of the Sample Database.

Click “Next” at the below Screen—

Click “Finish” to complete the installation

You need to modify the path to Sample Database in Tools.cfg file.
To Do this, open any cfg file from client-
Navigate to ROOT\Client\BIN\ENU to access the cfg files.
In this case it is “Siebel\8.1\Client_1\BIN\ENU”
Double Click on “uagent.cfg” file to open it in notepad/wordpad as below and copy the
“Connect String” value in [Sample] Section of the file like below—

Close the file and Navigate to ROOT\Tools\BIN\ENU and Double Click on Tools.cfg file
to open it in Notepad/Wordpad and Navigate to “Connect String” value in [Sample]
Section of the File.
Replace the Connect String Valus with the value Copied from uagent.cfg as below—

Save the Changes done to Tools.cfg and close the file—

Now you can Successfully login into Client Application or Siebel Tools with
SADMIN/SADMIN/Sample Credentials.

Note: If while opening any Application, if it does not ask for your credentials—it is
nothing but, they have passed the login credentials in the short cut.
To Change it, Right Click on the Short cut and Select “properties”

It should open a Dialog box similar to the one below—

Analyze the value in “Target” which looks Similar to –
D:\Siebel\8.1\Client_1\BIN\siebel.exe /c D:\Siebel\8.1\Client_1\bin\ENU\uagent.cfg /d
sample /u CCHENG /p CCHENG /ctsim

Either delete the Section “/u CCHENG /p CCHENG” or Replace it with “/u SADMIN /p
SADMIN” to automtically Login as Siebel Administrator, to gain full access to the
