Indian Dental Associations 67th Annual Conference 2014 IDA PEPSODENT Poster Competition Sunday 23rd February 2014

Indian Dental Association in collaboration with Pepsodent, is organizing a poster competition exclusively for IDA members, at the 67th IDC, from 21st 23th February 2014 in Hyderabad. Categories: 1. Dental Undergraduate Students 2. Dental Postgraduate Students and Dental Practitioners Members who wish to participate in the IDA-PEPSODENT Poster Competition can submit their posters on the following themes: For Dental Undergraduate Students: Minimum Intervention Dentistry Stem Cells in Dentistry New Strategies in caries Prevention For Dental Postgraduate Students & Dental Practitioners: Clinical/Pre-clinical Research pertaining to oral health Involving research on human subjects and/or studies in any specialty such as periodontal research, caries research, endodontics, prosthodontics, implants, advanced technology, oral oncology, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral medicine & radiology, community dentistry, oral surgery etc. Evidence Based Dentistry The theme of the poster should be based on specific challenges faced in dental practice pertaining to
Diagnosis Treatment phase Maintenance phase

Prizes: Two (2) winners will be selected from each category, totaling four (4) winners. First Prize: Rs. 15,000/- in each category Second Prize: 10,000/- in each category A certificate of appreciation will be awarded to all the participants selected for the IDA-PEPSODENT Poster Competition.

Guidelines for Poster Presentation


Abstract Criteria: Research must be clearly scientific/clinical and devoid of any commercial influence or sponsorship. An abstract of their poster presentation must not exceed 250 words and be written in English, using Verdana font size 12. The abstract, along with the presenter details, must be typed using the MSWord (.doc) or (.docx) program and saved in the same Word document file. (Do not submit it as a PDF). Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail or through online submission at www.idc2014.in Abstracts that are handwritten, or sent by fax will not be accepted.

Application Deadlines: Completed application including abstracts is due to dr_bushra@wds.org.in by January 15th, 2014. Scientific committee will assess all papers/posters for acceptance based on criteria of quality, originality, scientific value and innovation. Up to 20 abstracts in each category authors will be selected to present at IDA-PEPSODENT 2014. Those who are accepted will be notified by January 31st, 2014. Poster Criteria: Include title and author information (list student presenter first) Clearly state the hypothesis, methods/processes of study, results and conclusion Use graphs, tables, charts and other visual aids for data clarification Poster Orientation: Landscape format. Must fit within an 3 x 2 space (tack board is provided by IDA-PEPSODENT) Lettering should be bold. If you will be posting typed material, use a large font size (20 to 24 point font). Do not use all UPPER CASE character in your posters. The oral presentation for each demonstration should be no longer than 5-7 minutes in length. The photo & name of the author and co-author as well as the name of their institute must be visible on the poster at upper right corner. Kindly mention references at the end. Selected posters should be on display for the duration of the conference. Selected posters presenters should be ready to present their posters in given time. All photographs/graphs/diagrams/logos should have good resolution. Images obtained from web sites are usually unsuitable for posters as their resolution is too small. No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations. Lettering should be bold. If you will be posting typed material, use a large font size (20 to 24 point font). All presentation must have the following content: Title, Authors Name, Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References and Acknowledgments. However, presentations describing literature reviews need not comply with the sequence of presentations as outlined above. Submission Criteria: All notified/ selected poster shall upload/submit their e-posters on the following website: www.idc2014.in or email at dr_bushra@wds.org.in All posters should be uploaded in the section under Poster competition in the scientific programme page of the IDC website A small photograph of the presenting author should be attached at the right hand top of the poster for his recognition. Date of Submission for Final Posters shall be 10th February 2014. Note: Posters to be presented in the 67th IDA conference should not be presented elsewhere or vice versa.
