Lieut. Reitz: Thank you for delivering the files requested. Though I appreciate the exemptions you cited I request that you direct me to the appropriate appeals procedure concerning the documents you have supplied. If there is no internal appeals process for records requests you may direct me to the appropriate authority with oversight in your state regarding the denial of records requests. I am also writing to ascertain the status of my client's complaint of police misconduct. She has not been contacted or interviewed by your agency. Can you provide an update on the status of her investigation? Ms. Rigsbee has accused Durham police officers of excessive force, false arrest, unprofessional conduct. A jailer is accused of striking her in the face without provocation while in custody. I look forward to your response to my questions. Kamau
